"Truggalump accept books. For every two books ghostie-girl wants, Truggalump get three, yes?" Truggalump needs to make some form of profit, after all.

"Four books for the three of them, then. I can't hand over half of a book."

"Put me in a straitjacket and I'll show you a magic trick."

Blaine jokingly replies, obviously alluding to Harry Houdini's magic act.

Blaine continues to delicately attempt to release the restraints, one by one. None of his apertures are free as of yet.

Reelshka steps forward, scowling. Do you want us to sedate you?

Not too much. I'm thinking about going to Riverside to see the place for myself though.

I wonder if it would be a safe idea for him.

[Outside]

Riverside is a generally unsafe place. If Zero were a vampire or crime lord, it would be paradise.

Valaira drowsily nods. I don't think that she is aware of what Zero just said.

"That's nice. Got any family?"

Valaira tranquilly questions.

Blaine stops psychically fiddling with his restraints. He quirks his head toward Reelshka and with a disarming smile and a playful tone jests,

"If you are the one who will be doing the sedating, I would have asked for it myself!"

[Morty]

[Infirmary]

Reelshka's ears droop in high irritation. She doesn't seem to appreciate the joke. What do you... nevermind. Just stay where you are.

[DoomITP]

No. I don't have any family.

[The Alexandrian]

[Infirmary]

"What do I mean? I am merely commenting on the fact that you look like you have two warm, soft hands."

Blaine remarks, his smile and mirth growing.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Valiara replies in a caring tone.

[Morty]

[Infirmary]

If looks could kill, Blaine would be a smear on the wall right now. I'm glad you find this situation amusing. Having entered halfway through the earlier conversation, she has no real idea what's going on.

There isn't much to talk about. I just never had any.

Zero says with a shrug.

To be fair, I don't believe that Blaine knows exactly what is going on either.

Ooohhhh boy! The look that has spread across that goblin woman's face is priceless.

Maybe Blaine would decide not to harass the woman if she didn't react to the stimuli he is providing?

Probably not. He was instructed on how to handle the opposite gender in situations where one has been captured.

Cloud their minds with anger. Wait for them to slip up.

As such, Blaine resolves to continue the harassment of the goblin woman with as much wit as he can muster!

"I probably don't find this situation as amusing as you do. You want me to 'stay where I am,' after all. Where I am is lying on my back on a bed of some sort with restraints holding me against it."

Zero's response puzzles Valaira. Even if one were designed, they had a "family" that consisted of their creator and their comrades.

"How were you created if you didn't have a mother or creator?"

(I think we should wait for BR to undeadtime before continuing interaction between Zero and Valaira.)

Why, yes. That's how it should be. So stop trying to wriggle free. Reelshka nods. I'd ask why you're here, but I honestly doubt you'd give me a straight answer. So I'll just wait for someone in the know do show up.

"Of course I do."

Olivia sighs.

"I didn't exactly leave on good terms with everyone. I don't think I can ever go back without causing more trouble."

"What if we invited them here for a visit? Perhaps not right away, but after you feel you've made some progress. Do you think they would come?" Dr Burnett asks.

Blaine continues to press on in his none too noble endeavor to infuriate Reelshka,

"So, you like men essentially handcuffed to beds."

"To every woman her own, I guess."

"If you want to know why I am here, ask Quinn Druid. I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with rassacre."

[Morty]

[Infirmary]

I like troublesome rascals handcuffed to the nearest available surface, yes. Though if anyone asks me, I'll say they should gag yo as well. Reelshka appears determined not to let his ribbing get through.

"You know, you're kind of cute when you're angry."

Blaine contends, his tone completely serious. He is only trying to vex her, though.

[Morty]

[Infirmary]

Really? I know you're just trying to get me angry, you know. You're human, I'm a goblin. Reelshka snorts. So give up.

"Actually, I don't care about anyone's appearance or species."

"I'm a soldier, not a hippie. I don't have the patience for 'love' and other useless things."

"I value others for their spirit, for that is the only immutable quality that any creature can ever possess."

"You have quite a bit of patience. A logical mind."

"Know that I am not your enemy; I just don't appreciate being bound to a bed while Quinn rides off to what may well be her doom."

Blaine bluntly and truthfully replies in a detached tone.

Really. And what makes you say so? Reelshka folds her arms across her chest.

"You didn't react emotionally to the stimuli I provided, therefore you have a logical mind and an immense amount of patience."

"As for Quinn, she boasts that she is the champion of death. Valiara is death."

"I lost about a half a billion men battling that accursed beast. I doubt that one woman, however powerful, could best Valiara."

Blaine smirks with a pretentious air. There isn't a reason for him to be pretentious at the moment, but Blaine is pretentious nonetheless.

[Morty]

Reelshka's eyebrows rise and her ears perk up.
That's impressive, if it's true. I suppose we should fetch some more similiarily powerful members, then, just to be on the safe side. Even though Reelshka highly doubts Blaine isn't full of crap.

That's odd. Was Maleus sitting in the corner there before. Must have been. The gaunt, robed man stands up and walks right up to Blaine.

"Who's this Valiara now? Can't say I've ever heard of her before. And belive me, I would have if she was death. That's completely absurd anyway."

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary Roof]

Red mist... continues to sit out of sight on the roof.

"It would be best to hurry, before she begins to spread."

Before she begins to spread?

Uh-oh. Could Valiara be able to mutate biomass at astounding rates?

The answer to that question is, regrettably, yes.

Blaine then responds to the newcomer,

"You might not have heard of her if you are not acquainted with Sslandian lore."

Blaine declares in a rather dull tone.

It is likely that nobody in the Nexus has even heard of Sslandian culture as of yet, since Blaine and Valiara are the first from their reality to enter the Nexus.

"What if we invited them here for a visit? Perhaps not right away, but after you feel you've made some progress. Do you think they would come?" Dr Burnett asks.

"Um... I don't know. They might."

Olivia doesn't know. Neither do I, cause I don't know if I want to go to the trouble of making a couple whole new characters who are probably not going to be used again.

"How about we make that one of our goals then?" Dr Burnett says.

If you say so. Reelshka shrugs.

"Okay."

Olivia has another goal to put up next to finding out how to stop relying on blood and stop being a vampire! Yay.

"Perhaps, but saying she is death is presumptuous, to put it lightly." Maleus would know. He's an avatar of all death everywhere, or so he claims. "You should really choose your words more carefully."

"You're not a monster, Olivia. Perhaps if you think of vampirism as an illness - it interferes with your life, and causes you problems, but it doesn't make you a bad person. You're still you." Dr Burnett says.
