Mattos, I checked, you actually have the highest heal skill.

Your Majestic Word, combined with Elden's attempts to patch him up, help the guy quite a lot. You can tell he's stablized and doing ok. "Thank you kindly. To who may I owe the pleasure?" He asks, sitting up carefully.

What's happened here? This must have happened pretty recently, judging on the fact that you aren't in fact dead.

Also, yay for the non-use of video game logic ("I'm mortally wounded! I'm dying and you can't save me!" "Actually, I've got tons of healing spells and potions ready for use right here!" "No, I'm dead!" *double-X eyes*).

"Things started going funny about a week back, but nothing as bad as what happened here. See, the miners breached the wall of some sort of..tomb, I'd imagine. Only today did we finally clear an entrance. I wish we hadn't. Some sorta..skeleton in pants came out. It didn't make a sound, and just tore into the miners with some kind of spear. Anyone still in good shape was zapped by some magic, and rose as one of the undead. I was lucky to survive"

"This does not bode well. We should move Canus over to the dogs, so he's in the holy circle. Then we should at least see how many more undead are in here."

Teodor, the dog's aren't barking and seem friendly. The dogs' politely nibble at your bread, and you notice that the area within the dogs' bound has a crudely drawn holy circle.

I think... that things might be... more convoluted than we were first led to belive. Ponder this thought: the mayor isn't who he claims to be. Why wouldn't he mention his wife if he worries for the security of her workplace, and why would he claim to have sent soldiers before things went serious, which then don't show up?

He didn't seem very worried, I'd be if my wife was in a mine that had ceased communicating with the city. I didn't like him anyway, even before this, but this is rather sinister.

(No great difficulty to figure out why, hmm?)

By the way, how long do you reckon it would take before they would miss you back in town? When was the last time you miners were in contact with them?

Did Silimun mention how long ago it was they lost contact when we met him? I can't remember.

You know Teo, I think if we tell the mayor that we suspect him of something sinister, he may not be in the mood to pay us. Not that we're certain of anything yet.
