    This is completely up to you and I won't be offended or anything if you just don't want to, but I was thinking Fantasia's sister should turn out not to be dead and perhaps one of the villains could be her only Fantasia wouldn't know because age changed her looks.

    Basically horror-movie-serial-killer style villain. The kind where no one knows who the killer is. And, yes, they have a method to hide even from Soft and Smoothie.

    In all honesty, I myself may end up the most creeped out by this. I hate horror movies.

    If it could creep out the writer, that is a bad sign.

    Also horror stories villains need to rank up meaningful kills meaning PCs meaning I dunno.

    Sounds like it would turn into a WW narration too.

    Just don't see it working as intended.

    That my creation was scaring me is why I posed the question.

    The bare guts of the villain and the plot:

    He is essentially undetectable through magical or other supernatural methods.
    He would not kill any PC without express permission (and I'd actually prefer not to get that).
    He does not hunt NPCs, only PCs, which means we could potentially get through this without a single pony dead (just because he's a serial killer style villain does not mean we have to have actual serial killings in town).
    He is a C-Rank combatant, but has some abilities that allow him to counteract and dispatch stronger foes.
    He's basically a horror villain who lands in the middle of an adventure story. He's scary, but ultimately screwed.
    Much misdirection will be in store (which is why I don't want to give out too many details).

    Why I would like to do this:
    The way I'd write him, my own characters could not catch him, which would mean that another player gets to be the big hero of this plot.
    If I do this right, not only could I introduce the remaining two members of Eric's old adventuring team, I could end up with a massive heroic misunderstanding battle. Preferably with Soft leading the charge against my characters.

    The final word:
    If any player is uncomfortable with this, I will scrap the whole idea.

    Mach's gem would be a no-no unless you want things to get weird.

    Taking anything of Staccata's would result in a 'hunt the amateur to the ends of Equestria' mentality. This is doubly so if she loses track of her Manehatten PD police file (which hasn't been burnt yet). Her dagger or the bits she's hiding that fund her shenanigans might be a better choice.

    You steal Icy's memento, you'll get an insane mage freezing the town over. Just saying. (Hm, now where did I put that pendant in the RP.)

    I think my other characters would not have such strong attachment to their equipment, but that doesn't mean they won't hunt down the thief for it. For extra hilarity, you can steal liquor from Shell Shock.
