On another note: A season late I went back and started watching Fate Zero. First three episodes eem rather promising, though some stuff keeps bugging me about knowing stuff and cast and things. But some of the new characters like Caster and especially Rider seem very entertaining. (Though the latter's design bugs me... he's a redhead and he seems much older than I think he should be. But what the hell, Arthur is a girl, after all)

Cowboy Bebop seen, yes, same as the second time watching brotherhood.

DB and DBZ were no brainers since they aired in germany at a time I could watch them all.
    Gurren Lagann? It's noted.

Fate Zero is the same as Fate Stay Night, or do I mix those two? (If yes already seen)
Gantz is also seen, as is Detroid Metal City, Deathnote and Great Teacher Onizuka and most parts of Inuyasha.

Fate/zero is a prequel to Fate/stay night... but not to the anime based on Fate/stay night, which only covered the introductory arc.

@Krazzman: I will throw out my recomendation for Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. To which all I can say is that the only way the name could be more misleading to was if I had said Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Each series sharing the heart of Gundam and Evangelion respectively. Speaking of mecha series Gundam Unicorn is probably the best thing coming out right now. In general I can recommend anything under the Gundam title.

The Fate route is the introductory route though, it's the route that is the most dating sim-like route and wholly focuses on Saber to the exclusion of every single other character. It's Saber time, all the time; all the other character are introduced and only expended upon in the other better routes.

The anime also completly nueter any single positive character trait Shirou has, while simultaneously never touching on all the stuff that made UBW good.

If it comes purely to action I'd recommend Read or Die. Though a bit older, the animation in the action scenes is still quite great for the time as is the amount of effort put into the fighting choreography. The ova, which comes first, is pretty much just one big, silly action movie with awesome stunts, cool powers and a wonderfully pulpy premise. Just don't try to make too much sense of the plot.

The tv series on the other hand is slower and takes a lot more time to establish the plot and characters, two things it does very well, and is by far the better written part. It does, however, mean that there isn't a whole lot of action for the first half of the series. Just as a warning if you try watching it and expect the same as the ova.

In any case, I recommend the ova and series as some of the cooler action out there and avoids the dragging that endless shounen series suffer from. Also, who can't love lovingly animated cascades of paper flying all over the place?

As we are on an english website, if a series has an official English title, I always prefer to use that because as an English speaker, Moretsu is gibberish and tells you nothing about the series, while Bodacious is not and gives you more information about the series in question. There is no such thing as a "true title" unless you want to refer to the series in question as モーレツ宇宙海賊(パイレーツ)

That aside, I have been trying to watch the first episodes of all of the shows for this season that I have the slightest interest in. So far:

Nisemonogatari: Glorious sequel. If you liked Bakemonogatari, you'll love this. Also, SHAFT clearly has more budget for this than they did for Bake so it comes off as slightly less of a powerpoint.

Bodacious Space Pirates or Mouretsu Pirates or モーレツ宇宙海賊(パイレーツ): I went in not sure if I was going to get pointless fan service or '90s style hardish sci fi adventure, hoping for the latter. As soon as the episode started with a short history explanation, and then moved onto a conversation about atmospheric reentry, and then ended without a single gratuitous panty shot, I knew we were getting the latter. Plus the OP was written by Hyadain, and the guitar was done by Marty Friedman. That has to count for something, right?

Lagrange- The Flower of Rin-ne or Rinne no Lagrange: Flower declaration of your heart or 輪廻のラグランジェ: Well, here we have an anime original mecha show that features a team of female pilots and enemy bishonen aliens. The first episode really didn't give me much more to work with than that, as much of it was setting up the characterization of the main character Madoka (Yes I'm sure we'll be making jokes about that the entire season) I don't have particularly high hopes for this, especially because its Xebec, but I'll definitely give it the full 3 episode test, if only for the mecha german suplex.

Aquarion EVOL: Well, I never saw the first season and know nothing about it besides the OP, but since this is set a good 12,00 years later, I figured that it wouldn't matter. And it didn't. However, nothing about the first episode, even at double length, made me want to continue watching besides the budget and background art. Mechs as blatant sexual metaphors with ****ty gender politics doesn't really do anything for me. I probably won't be watching any more of this unless somebody else tries to tell me its really good.

Another: Japanese horror done right so far. The first episode didn't really throw any curve balls, it just set up with elements we've all seen before, but so far the atmosphere, direction, and music is perfect. We'll have to see if the plot will be good enough to keep up. Comparisons to parts of Higurashi and Ghost Hound are probably appropriate. Watching this alone at night might not work for me because I absolutely hate creepy dolls. And this anime likes to flash creepy dolls at you all the time for no reason.

Waiting in the Summer or Ano Natsu de Matteru or あの夏で待ってる: A JC staff original anime written by the guy that did Onegai Teacher. And while I've never watched Onegai Teacher, the internet tells me that so far this is incredibly close to that. So far, it feels like a slightly old school rom com, with a slight sci fi element. Definitely will get its 3 episodes for the amount of charm its cast has so far, but I'll have to see if that can overcome how much I abhor most of the trappings that come with the entire magical girlfriend shtick, like the last couple minutes of this first episode.

There's only a couple more shows that have yet to start airing, and the only one that I'll be picking up will be Black Rock Shooter. I don't have high hopes for it, but its going to take several more disapointments before I give up on Noitamina and stop watching everything that they air.

BLACK ROCK SHOOTER is getting an actual series?

Well, the concept art is gorgeous, but there isn't much to do with that concept...

Well, apparently somebody thinks that there's 8 episodes worth of things to do with the concept. http://www.noitamina-brs.jp/. It won't be airing until Feb. 2 though. In the meantime, this Thursday this show will be airing in what was previously Un-Go's slot, while Guilty Crown picks back up in the same timeslot.

The OVA wasn't that great though, so we'll have to see what the anime pulls off.

Well, Moretsu Uchupirates. But for some reason they're ignoring two of the kanji when they put in in romaji (maybe when they pronouce it too?).

Moretsu Pirates isn't any more the 'true' title than Full Metal Alchemist is supposed to be Hagane no Renkinjutsushi.

Yeah, it was character-design-driven. There was rule 34 of it even before anything official was produced. Good stuff, too.
