"Oh, we're heading back into the city?" cracks the old man's voice. "If it's just the same...I think I'll head to the Society's hall to wait for all of you. These old bones of mine are weary, I can't be runnin' about as much as you young folk. he continues with a chuckle and a warm, grandfatherly smile, his moustache curling up. "I'll give the codebook to your venture captain, so don't worry none about that." Yargos begins on his way back out the cathedral, knowing what little headstart he might give himself won't be much.

"Indeed, Sir Yargos," Dastria says, returning to a patient, more civilised tone. "Be safe on your journey. At least we have the daylight now." With this statement, she steps out of the building and stares upwards at the sky. "For such a dark night, the morning sky sure is beautiful."

I thought the pathfinder lodge = Society's hall?

And I agree on going back to the city. Only thing to do here is loot bodies, and Amdal can't carry much more without taking a speed penalty.

Ah, you're right. I got confused...thought you guys were going to go to the local taverns to look for Cedric. My bad, derped it up a bit there.

The travel back to the Society's lodge is mere minutes. You move through the puddles, avoiding the deeper reaches of that district, and into the city proper. The rodes here are cobbled and the buildings are in considerably better condition. The sun is still low in the sky, slowly rising above the walls of the city, flooding it with its golden light in the cloudless morning sky.

You soon arrive at the Pathfinder Society lodge in Absalom, the central hub of the Society. It is a grand building. The main hall has a high vaulted ceiling and looks not so unlike a cathedral with tall slitted windows and masterful stonework. An indoors garden is near the entrance, the aroma of its flowers refreshing your nostrils after your romp through the puddles, the sewers, the granary, and the ruins of siege towers and its trees reviving your energies with fresh air. Branching off from this main hall are two wings to the building that include the offices of the captains, storage rooms, lodging for Pathfinders, baths, and much more.

"I'll go ahead and take this to your captain." speaks Yargos, holding the thin, black book in an upraised hand. The old man makes his way through one of the many halls in the lodge toward Hestram's office in the west wing.

Looking down from Torrim's shoulders young Belle asks "D-Do you think m-mister...mister Cedric is here?" her eyes full of wonder at the sights of the lodge.

"Quite probably, miss. Do you want to come with me and search?" He slips her down from his shoulders and shoots back a glance at Dastria, and whispers, finally taking on a scathing tone:

"The only reason Theo would have gotten hurt is because of your insane anti-social, nigh-sociopathic tendencies. Thus, the person whose fault it could of been? Is you. Digest on that for a moment, if you can indeed divert attention from your destructive anger for but a few seconds."

Amdal sighs, "A knight should be an easy enough quarry to track. If no one here has heard of Cedric, then we can ask the captain to spread the news that Cedric's aid is requested, and what kind of knight would refuse a request for his help?" Amdal smirks, "Then there's always the taverns for news ,gossip, and ale. As for this halfling, he's going to take this opportunity to tend to his gear." With a small nod and heft of his pack, 'this halfling' heads towards the lodgings.

Are we going to rest now, or later? Gartrand needs 8 hours of rest for his spells back and Dastria needs 1 hour of prayer/meditation. The rest of us will be...fatigued?...or something without rest.

They're spell-like abilities and I can't find anything in the SRD about how to regain them, other than the fact that they're 1/Day abilities. I guess we wait for GM ruling on that.
Also, if you're a drow noble you get:

dancing lights, deeper darkness, faerie fire, feather fall, and levitate each at will, and have detect magic as a constant spell-like ability.

Along with divine favor, dispel magic, and suggestion as 1/day spells. Are you using the regular drow spell-like abilities instead?

• Spell Resistance: 11 + character level.
• Those spell-likes
• darkvision (60 feet.)
• Immune: magic sleep effects.
• +2 racial bonus against enchantment spells.
• Perception +2
• Poison Use

And the Light Blindness is easily offset by the at-will Deeper Darkness

It's LA+0. Besides that, those spell like abilities are relatively lame (Leviatation?) and situationally useful only.

Ultimately, of course, I don't think it matters, unless I'm just abusing things, which I don't think I have been. So far, I've used:

Levitate (On the cliffs to save the guys... not even sure I used this one.)

Dispel Magic (Taking out one of the magic boxes. Each other character took out one, except for someone who took two... not sure who that was).

Faerie Dust (To see the Undead).

Besides this, I'm the only character who's gotten CLOSE to death at all. If it hadn't been for the five foot step, I'd be dead (actually, I think I still would have been dead, but GM ruled otherwise, so I'm happy.)

If I over-do it, tell me.

Dastria spins around and gets dangerously close to Torrim, hands on her hips with a look of contempt on her face. She blinks slowly, calmly. She is unafraid as she gets so close.

"Why do you aim to ruin such a gorgeous morning with your tomfoolery, Torrim? I share blunt words but your desire is blunt fists? And you tell me that I have no sense? Please. Pay attention to the task at hand and either rest your fatigue-addled mind or find this Cedric fellow. Whatever you do, never raise a fist to an ally. NEVER. Have some honour. Drow."

She gives Torrim a dangerous smile, returns to a scowl and then carries on her way.

Sam, you're *really* pushing your luck here. Torrim's a smart guy. Surely he'd have the sense to back off by now.

He is indeed pushing his luck. Here's the motivation:
1. He's fairly confident in Dastria. He doesn't believe she'll lay him out for correcting her. (NOTE: calling him a drow instead of a noble drow is probably a slight anyway). She has more control, and more wisdom than that. Besides, Belle is standing right behind Torrim. Dastria's not going to lay out Protector #1 right beside the emotionally unstable little girl.

2. He's fairly confident in himself. He's VERY sure he can dodge/work around whatever she throws at him, or at the very least recover.

3. He's confident in what's he's saying. His words are not harsh, (save the first whisper, which was definitely provoked), and he is calm. His last comment, she deserves. Thus, bystanders will know who's at fault: Dastria (at least in Torrim's mind). If she somehow was foolish enough to attack, and somehow managed to deck him, the bystanders would intervene and clean things up, and he'd return to normal after a few days. To him, Dastria's response is unstable and unmerited.

4. He's used to defying authority. He's used to denying destiny. (See earlier speech.) She's trying to push him, (or at least so he thinks), and he's pushing back.

Is he perhaps nearing a breaking point? Maybe. Is it understandable for his character? Yes.

Also: that'd be Wisdom, not Intelligence. Torrim (statwise) has high Int, Normal Wis.
