Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
SpoilerNote to self: Gartrand can one-shot Gartrand. Anyone can one-shot Gartrand.
Such is the life of a squishy.
Torrim glances around, searching harder for the girl.
SpoilerTaking Twenty (Adjusted, 25), to see her.
Also looking around.

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
SpoilerI was referring to the fact that Theo wouldn't strictly *have* to roll damage. He gets +5 damage from the strength modifier, and since no die has a side with 0, that guarantees at least 6 damage, enough to bring Gartrand unconscious. The rest of you would have to roll damage to see if he gets knocked out.

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
Torrim sees no sign of the girl. Considering how thoroughly he searched it seems likely that if she were around to be seen he would have spotted her.
Spoiler
However, give me a sense motive.
Great thanks to Dirtytabs for that ponytar.

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
AMDAL
Amdal visibly relaxes as the crowd disperses. "We should either report the trashing of the shop, or flee the scene. I'm not too warm to the idea of being a stranger accused of murder." He glances around, still uncomforable, "We also need a new lead on Du Moire. Can we can find his ship?"Last edited by Arkive; 2011-09-01 at 09:02 AM.

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
Torrim glances around. "They don't appear to be hostile... We need to find that girl."
He walks around the crowd, asking if they've seen a small girl or a female spell caster anytime recently, and which direction they were going.

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
An older gentleman had been poking his head out of one of the buildings level with the lower docks. Seeing Torrim approach he seems to plant his feet more firmly and grip the door he was leaning out of, his old frail arms shaking slightly.
"Oh, er...yes, I believe I saw who you're looking for. Poor thing looked frightened...running down the dock that way" he takes one shaking hand off the door, pointing to the west "...Friend of yours?"Great thanks to Dirtytabs for that ponytar.

Amdal hesitates, shakes his head, then hurries after Torrim. Dastria tended to Gartrand's wounds. He should be fine. This girl, however...

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
Gartrand opens his eyes. He says one word "Ouch."
He lifts himself to his feet, before turning to Dastria and saying "Thanks. I have no idea how you saved me, and I probably should be dead. Just thanks." He says awardly before turning to the others. "What are we doing now? And where have Torrim and Amdal gotten off to? I don't like us being split up."Originally Posted by Albert Einstein

"We're finding the girl, Gartrand," Dastria says, sprinting after the two that have already started running. "Come on, follow!" she calls back. "There's no point just standing here!"

Amdal glances over his shoulder as he runs and is relieved to see the wizard is back on his feet.
Spoiler
Yes we're following our only lead, who is an illusionist, into the labyrinth. This should be fun.
Survival check to maintain a sense of direction to prevent us getting lost?

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
Spoiler
Okay now I'm rolling behind the screen:
Spoiler
(1d20+3)[4]
You enter into a gloomy, greenish twilight where scattered beams
of light filter down between weathered dock planks, bouncing
off seaweed covered stones that jut from the dark harbor waters.
A forest of pylons suspends the docks above where the scurrying
feet of merchants, sailors, and longshoremen hammer like
a muffled thunderstorm. Between the pylons, you spot small
stone bunkers, ruins of older siege forts now crumbling and
weathered from centuries of angry waves. A narrow set of docks
traverses the rocks, connecting various locations. Eventually, all
lead out to the shallow bay at the mouth of the maze. Nearby,
you notice a fresh trail of muck-limned, wet footprints.Last edited by Necro_EX; 2011-09-14 at 02:16 PM.

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
SpoilerRolling knowledge architecture to see if I know anything about anything about said maze. Like if I know anything about how said mazes are set up and the like.
(1d20+9)[28]
And history to find out about those siege forts(or mazes).
(1d20+9)[17]
And do the footprints lead into the maze?Originally Posted by Albert Einstein

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
Spoiler
Certainly high enough to warrant knowing something.
Architecture - You take not of the structure of the labyrinth and should be able to find your way back through it with ease. You even notice what parts of town you might be under and noticed the pattern of ladders.
History - This port has a long history and the dents and blown apart walls of the old forts tell the tales of many naval battles in the port's younger days. It once stood strong against entire fleets, something it has not had to do in recent, more peaceful years. Some of these abandoned holdings have been made into storefronts, and some now house the port's ruffians. You recall a rumor that some of these may have old treasures, prints, and weapons stashed away in their depths.
Also, the footprints lead out of the maze.

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
Gartrand tells his companions what he knows. I think that those we are searching for are in the ruins, and a bit more of a tangible reward.
SpoilerI guess I'm following while he's tracking. Just a question: Are they spaced like their running, or what? Obviously Gartrand wouldn't know this, but Amdal probably would.Originally Posted by Albert Einstein

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
Amdal - Following the tracks is an easy feat and you quickly discover these footprints, spaced as though three or perhaps four people were running, lead toward a small building off the side of the labyrinth. Outside the building you see two armed men standing about on the docks and to the side two empty rowboats. They look large enough to hold three people, and their gear, each.

"We got three...maybe four people running." He drops his voice as the armed men come into view. "Those guys are pretty big. Who wants to ask if they've seen the girl?" He chuckles.

Re: Silent Tide [Kong Pathfinder]
Theodric, not picking up on the sarcasm, takes Amdal up on his offer. "I'll do it!" He walks up to the armed guards. "Hey, have either of you seen a young girl pass by here?"
SpoilerJust to clarify, Theo's not normally *this* stupid. But when your Sense Motive is a -1... >_>
