Togo, did the earlier Scorching Ray zap hit one of Umbriel's images, or the mage herself? (She used Greater Mirror Image, which is an immediate action, as a defense: she has 7 images in addition to herself. If the bad guy has blindsight / true seeing obviously he can avoid the images.)

Also, is Derk close enough to a bad guy that he can full attack this turn without further assistance?

    Buffs that people should remember:
-Haste (+1 AC, +1 to hit, one extra attack at full bonus)
-Bardsong (+8 to hit, +8 damage)
-Greater Magic Weapon (all manufactured weapons + monk unarmed strike are +5, up to a cap of 20 over the whole party)
-Spiderskin (+5 natural armor bonus to AC, for the meleers)
-Greater Mage Armor for Androse (+6 armor bonus to AC)
-Resist Energy - Fire (everyone has fire resistance 30 if it wasn't already better)

Yep, looks like it hit Umbriel - whether through luck or true sight, wouldn't be immediately obvious.

Knowledge check from Umbriel will certainly be enough to reveal the new features as being that of a Kython - a race of evil abberrations supposedly created by fiends. Knowledge dungeoneering check if you want any additional information. One feature is obvious however - no eyes.

Right! I keep forgetting to post knowledge checks. Godot's decidedly sub-epic in this category, but it's worth a shot: (1d20+10)[16]

If your actions permit it, yes. Most of the time they both need a standard/full action, but there are ways. Quickened spells, etc.

What did you have in mind?

    From the SRD (emphasis mine)
The transmuted creatures move and act more quickly than normal. This extra speed has several effects.

When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with any weapon he is holding. The attack is made using the creature’s full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a weapon of speed, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can’t use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)

A hasted creature gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Any condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bonuses.

All of the hasted creature’s modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject’s normal speed using that form of movement. This increase counts as an enhancement bonus, and it affects the creature’s jumping distance as normal for increased speed.

Multiple haste effects don’t stack. Haste dispels and counters slow.

Material Component: A shaving of licorice root.
I am afraid it does not work like that (anymore, I think you could do that in 3.0). Optimally using Haste is either by full attacking or moving more than usually. If you want to cast and attack, or cast twice, in the same round, you really have to look at the [Quicken spell] feat, or spells with a 'swift' or 'immediate' casting time. Note, however, that quicken spell does not really work for a sorcerer unless you have an alternative class feature from PHBII (if memory serves me well).

An alternative is to have a look at Arcane fusion Sor5 (CM, p96), which allows you to cast a 4th and a 1st level spell as one standard action and Greater arcane fusion Sor8 (CM, p96), which allows you to cast a 7th and 4th level spell as a standard action.

Also, Arcane spellsurge Sor7 (DM, p64) reduces the casting time of many spells by one step (i.e. standard becomes swift). This is interesting, but has its own restrictions (you cannot bypass or avoid it).

These spells are bread and butter for many sorcerer builds. If you want more detailed info, send me a pm, since there's a (copyright) limit to the info I can publicly share on this forum.

Unfortunately, Haste doesn't change anything regarding spells or actions.

Bah, only if I do too!

I knew I should have used the spell-like abilities last round. Ah well.

To clarfiy, the fight is effectively over, although you should decide what to do with the winged man before Xiulcoatl lets go or the spell wears off. And the only obvious way off the roof is the exterior staircase that leads down to the balcony at the back of the building.

Up close it's obvious that the second horn is both empty, and has partially collapsed.

Quite a nice view from here, when the smog clears.
