Re: The World in Revolt IC
Bugbear - Fighter"HOO! HA! Yeah! Bug's still got the moves!" Bugbear laughs as the clumsy swipes of the undead monsters fail to even scratch his armour.
As the wretched thing in his grasp flails in desperation, Bugbear turns a mocking smile towards it. "Aww, what's wrong little guy? Miss your friends? WELL HERE'S ONE FOR YA!!" Bugbear steps forward and grabs the other wight, slamming the two against each other like they were children's toys and knocking them to the ground.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Wights
Jumping to its feet, it hisses at the one who floored it. Trying in vain to surround its opponent, instead it scratches out with crusty claws, trying to land a blow on the towering wrestler. The other finds Bugbear's watching eyes disconcerting as well. It tries to gouge them out. The first lands a solid hit on Bugbear as he tries to watch them both. A wave of weakness passes through him. As he clears his head, the second wight rakes his back with its talons. The wight hisses and fades back into the darkness as Bugbear's resolves waver again.

Melhved
Blocking the charging wight's attack from the darkness turns her on her heels. She senses the living-taking energies flowing from the creatures into Bugbear. Welling up with the might of Melora, she swings her sword in several arcs around her body, taking swipes at the fiends around her and sending tendrils of Melora's love towards Bugbear. Two of the undead feel her bite but the new one escapes her blade. Bugbear is wrapped in the warming comfort of Melora's grace.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Skeletons
The skeletons, all looking quite ragged, lurch in to attack, their scimitars and boney claws waving wildly. Their strategy seems painfully simple. Attack the nearest foe. With bones and blades flying, our heroes maintain focus and block nearly all of the attacks, except one boney claw that slips under Wolfen's guard. Its piercing tip causes little damage, but he feels a wave of deathly chill that he has a tough time shaking off.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Radiel swipes his rod in a wide arc and shouts a furious phrase in Supernal. Another bolt of lightning arcs between the walls of the chamber, aimed squarely at the trio of walking corpses beside Bugbear. The wight, overloaded by the blast, falls over in convulsions and lies immobile. The unexpected movement arcs the bolt completely over the first skeleton, but it still lands directly on the third. As the lightning fades, a barrier of sparks forms between the skeleton and Radiel's allies, keeping close to the beast, pushing it back, and almost daring it to move unexpectedly. "Move back, Wolfen!" Radiel shouts.
SpoilerRadiel invokes Vanguard's Lightning on skeletons 1 and 3 and wight 1 (targeted at square B5). Any of them that get hit slide to the left one square.
These attacks are versus Reflex.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Viola moves around the field of battle, taunting several skeletons by dancing into their range and then moving back out again. She seems to be enjoying herself, despite the damage she's taken. Then, when she is near two of the skeletons, she disappears in a puff of darkness, enveloping a 15 foot cube of the room with impenetrable black.
SpoilerI move like this: F5->F6->E5->D4->C4
Provoking from Skeleton 2 and 3.
Then, in C4, I make a Burst 1 of Cloud of Darkness.
Everything in my cloud is blinded while within my cloud.

If either of those skeletons survives my attack, I use Blood Sucker to deal an additional (1d10)[6] damage to it and gain a Healing Surge. If both do, I just use it against the first one.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
The wight, immersed in Radiel's lightning shrieks with pain, jerks violently, and falls to the ground unmoving. Light wisps of smoke rise from its no longer pale body, more ashen grey.
Skeleton Opp Attack
As Viola darts and dodges about the room, both skeletons she pass glance away from their current targets, but only one of them takes a swing at her with its scimitar. As it does, sparks dance about the meatless bones, changing the corse of its blade to pass harmless over the agile Drow.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Bugbear - FighterAs an unnatural darkness erupts from Viola, Bugbear waves his arms in a confused attempt to clear his vision. Stepping out of the cloud, he sees one of the creatures skulking in the shadows, preparing to strike. Dropping open his jaw in mock surprised delight, Bugbear points a finger at the injured wight and shouts, "THERE you are!" Then the grappler drops to one knee, slams both fists into the ground and hurls himself forward screaming "AAAAVVAAALAAAANCHE!!!"
Bugbear's boulder-like shoulder slams into the wight, which bounces off the cavern wall and collapses to the floor like a sack of broken pottery. Stomping on the unmoving creature for good measure, Bugbear squints into the darkness, looking for any more of these things. "Anybody remember to pack a torch?"

Skeleton
The single-mindedness of the hopeless skeleton's attack belies its level of control and intelligence. While striking with its scimitar at Melhved, it cares not how many are left nor its situation. It just wants to hurt the nearest enemy, whatever the cost. It manages to slip its blade inside Mel's guard, bruising her arm.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
With Radiel and Wilian's combined onslaught, the fiends succumb to the land of the dead once more. The wight falls peacefully to the ground in a lump of pale, scabbed flesh, while the skeleton, losing cohesion, ends in more spectacular fashion, necrotic energy rippling out from its falling bones. Everyone in the blast feels life ripped from deep within as if with flaming talons. As the last of the energy fades into the walls, silence falls on the battlefield, and the darkness seems to press in even tighter.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Radiel immediately marches up to Viola and places a firm hand on her shoulder. "YOU!" he roars, before the rage leaves his face and he returns to his normally deadpan voice. "You were harmed by my first invocation. That should have only affected the undead. Why did it hurt you?" he inquires.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Viola marches up to Radiel as he approaches her. The two talk over each other.
"What is wrong with you? I've worked with Wil for an entire day, and he never hit me with the €£*%# he flings around! Does a Human have better eyesight than you? How many lifetimes do you have to live to learn the difference between an ally and an enemy!?" She tries to poke the Deva in the chest with an accusatory finger. Thanks Gigi Digi for the avatar.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Radiel allows the finger to land upon his chest, patiently waiting for the tirade to end before repeating himself. "The invocation harms only the undead. Your warrior friend was unaffected despite being right next to you. Why did it affect you?" he calmly queried.
SpoilerPerception check to see if Radiel notices any distinctly undead features about her.

"So long as my loyalty and ability is not called into question for this...curiosity, this is agreeable," Radiel responds, giving Viola a long look before strapping his rod to his side once more. "But this will be discussed when we have completed our goals. Deva are known for their memories."

Re: The World in Revolt IC
"Guys, can we leave the discussion after we leave exploding skeleton land?" Said Wilian, limping. "I don´t know if any of you got affected, but I´m feeling very much like dropping dead right now."
SpoilerWas that the encounter? Because I´m at 9 HP right now and my healing surges are calling to me.New avatar by Dirtytabs! 20% better than expected!
