Re: The World in Revolt IC
Wilian banished the fiery torment he had on the dragon, and jumped quickly to his companions side.
"Wolfen. Melhved. Give me a hand. We canīt have him quide us anywhere in this state we have brought him in. You. Krakkael. Open your mouth. I will pour this healing salve into you, and you will survive to find better things to take your time than kidnapping people, ok?"
SpoilerSpend a healing potion on the Dragon (The one I gave Bugbear, if possible), and a Heal roll, if neccesary. (1d20+6)[12]New avatar by Dirtytabs! 20% better than expected!

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Krakkael eagerly gulps down the healing potion, and looks much better afterwards. "Thank you. As for why I don't trade with the humans, why would I? I can get more money and more treasure if I take what is rightfully mine anyway without having to give anything in return."

Re: The World in Revolt IC
"Mother never trusted Greens.", Mel thought to herself. While the beast seemed subdued, the greens rarely played by any rules. Keeping her eye of the dragon, Mel slid closer to make sure she was ready for any betrayal. "Each should be judged on its own merit and this green has shown itself to be a manipulator and wasteful with life. Melora hates those that waste beyond their need."

Bugbear:
SpoilerIn the treasure pile, you find:
Coins totaling 250 gp.
A small statuette made of bone, that is very finely crafted.
One suit of chainmail, a rapier, and a bandore, glowing with a faint magical light.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Bugbear - Fighter"No problem Billy, there's not much more than some coins and a few trinkets worth keeping in here." Bugbear tosses the small statuette over to Wilian. "Nothing we can't carry!"
"As for the dragon, that's easy. Anyone got an axe I can borrow?"
Bugbear takes whatever blade he is offered and finishes the job Viola started: chopping off Krakkael's head, wrapping it in a blanket, and tying it to his backpack.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
"Bugbear mentioned carting the head back to town, I believe -- which would save us considerable burden. As for how to procure a cart, might I suggest the savages' village? It should be a good place for both the lost mort -- I mean humans, as well as a 'loot cart.'"She finishes quickly after her verbal slip-up.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
The items Mel sees in the dragon's loot appear to match the items Garnst, the butcher in town, mentioned when describing his son. Fearing bad news, Mel moves in and takes a closer look at the armor and instrument, checking for signs of damage or blood.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
"We'll worry about the dead dragon's body later. Finding the hostages is a higher priority. We'll take a five minute rest, but then we're moving on. In the meantime, Bugbear, put all that stuff into a bag and carry it. Same with the dragon's head, just in case. Melhved, let him use your sword for the beheading."
Wolfen walks around to the two Lizardmen and thrusts his spear into the back of their necks to ensure that they're dead. Then he takes out his canteen and drinks.Last edited by thereaper; 2012-02-25 at 12:04 AM.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
"Now, Wolfen," Viola begins sweetly as she skips over to him and his grisly handiwork, ""correct me if I'm wrong here -- I might be remembering incorrectly -- but we have encountered two separate groups of the local savages thus far, yes?" She has her parasol casually over a shoulder, twirling it absentmindedly. "And -- again, my memory may be deceiving me here -- both times we tried to reason with them and both times we chose to kill them all? Even after the dragon surrendered?" The Drow elf is all smiles and sweetness as she teases Wolfen; she doesn't seem to be taking the dragon's death very seriously.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
"There's nothing wrong with killing if it turns out you have to. Indeed, you must never hesitate to kill when it is needed. But you should also never kill when it's not needed. That's why I let you kill that dragon only after it became clear he couldn't be reasoned with or kept alive without being a threat to the town. The fact that we only kill when we have to is the only thing that separates us from them. And look how they turned out."
Wolfen points his spear at the lizardmen for emphasis.
And then, in a quieter voice so that only she could hear:
"But just between you and me, I think wasting a potion on that overgrown alligator was a very bad idea. That kid's got a lot to learn about adventuring."Last edited by thereaper; 2012-02-25 at 01:52 AM.

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Bugbear drops his pack against a tree, sits on the ground and leans back against it like a pillow. With a wide-armed stretch and a big yawn, he waves off Wolfen's urgency.
"What's a show without a little drama? Nothing gets the crowd going like a last-second twist, an unexpected betrayal, and a big finish! Just think of the songs they'll sing of this battle... "The Heroes of Halmaren versus Krakkael the Craven, Terror of the Swamp"!"
The big brawler smiles, crosses his heavy arms across his chest, closes his eyes, and drops his head back. "I say we get some sleep and head out fresh in the morning. Nothing's gonna bother us here, that dragon's been keeping things away for a while. Billy can magic us up a nice campfire, can't you boy?"

Re: The World in Revolt IC
Viola approaches Melhved, accompanying her on the walk around the clearing. Her footsteps silent upon the ground, Viola attempts a conversation, "You handle yourself quite well out here, Miss Brombriar. May I call you that, or do you prefer 'Melhved?' Well, I simply find this swamp to be thoroughly boring; I can't tell one tree from another -- not like back home, you understand. Why, we have hundreds of different types of roses, and I could wander the Darkhaven gardens for nights and nights and never get bored. Where are you from, may I ask?" Viola prattles on a bit before remembering herself and politely asking the only other female party member about her home.
