What do you mean, 'Panel was never mentioned'? I assume that you are able to understand a noun phrase ellipsis via an anaphoric reference successfully as otherwise you'd wonder if he meant the second to last unicorn or second to last bread basket. I merely added the noun in to make my sentence a complete one. The meaning in context remains absolutely unaltered. Sorry about the tinkering.

In exactly the same manner, I don't see the point behind your 'time robber' assertion with, "You can see X in all the panels from the second to the last." Again, all I did was make a complete sentence out of it. Okay, let's put:

...and, if you zoom in a lot, in all the panels from the second to the last as well.

There. That would be the clearest way to indicate all the panels in the series bar the first.

    But enough of my nitpickery...

I was just reading through the battle for Azure city for the third time today and this is the first time I noticed that in comic 468 Elan and Haley were undressing before Belkar interrupted them =P

In any event, I doubt he thought the whole axe-arm thing through very far. Sounds like the kind of decision you make while still groggy with blood-loss after losing your arm. He was probably all like, "My name's already Captain Axe, I might as well make it official..."
I think it's supposed to be a joke on the "captain hook" stereotype. Plus I think there's actually a character in some Disney cartoon named Captain Hook..

To clarify, I meant the panel before the last one. The last one, if you zoom in, Lien is still there but doesn't have a face.

I don’t believe that Chumbaniya is saying the comic had the arrow thing as a reference to Skyrim. Bulldog Psion suggested that Chumbaniya found it funny as a reference to D&D hit points. He is explaining instead why that he found it hilarious in hindsight due to the Skyrim meme.

Not going to go into great detail, as this isn't the place, but an axe is an extremely useful thing on a sailing ship, for the same reasons the cutlass found such favor. If you have to cut away the rigging from storm or battle damage, for example, a heavy chopping blade is essential.

Reviewing some oldies-but-goodies, including the fight w Trigak the Chimera oots0018, oots0019, oots0020, and oots0021.

At the conclusion of that fight, each of the three heads makes a final "Gak!" noise: "Gak!" "Gak!" "Gak!" says the dying Trigak!

    I never noticed that before!

Off that... It hadn't yet occurred to me that in the flashback to Nale's betrayal of Tarquin, Zz'dtri wasn't fighting with the Linear Guild--obvious now because if he'd been part of Nale's group at the time, Tarquin would have recognized him immediately.

Tarquin has a ring of true seeing, that's why he knew Z was a dark elf despite the disguise, but thought he was working for the dark elves to scout Tarquins potential for an alliance.

But he didn't have the ring at the time of the flashback. It was his birthday gift last year.

I think they're saying Z wouldn't have had a disguise in the flashback, and thus Tarquin would have recognized Z when he was disguised as an ambassador.

Not sure if it's been brought up, but I just noticed the guys that secure themselves a kingdom in strip 680 are then killed by Tarquin as he conquers his first kingdom.

Elan is showing his papers to the palace guard in #754. On a related note, that guard seems to be the same guard seen in #717 and #793. The tan guy in the first 2 is presumably killed and replaced by Sabine.

Also, in #755 Tarquin seems to develop a bowel problem, as he is frequently seen putting his hands behind his butt from that point onward.

I also just got the pun in #662's title: "The Price is Right," as in Redcloak's right eye is the price he pays.

In 362 Nale says, "Where I'm from, a little suspicion about one's true identity and motives is considered good manners." From what we know of Tarquin, that's probably true.

Something else I noticed: OOTS usually uses "POP!" for teleportation onomatopoeia, but 513 has "BAMF!" when Tsukiko teleports into the scene. That's the sound used when Nightcrawler teleports.

I'm going to guess the more experienced D&D players noticed this when they first read the comic, but in #443, Roy probably has Shillelagh Oil because he was using a club while travelling to Azure City. (Assuming that works on greatclubs, anyway.)

There's even a chance he picked it up at the potion shop in #135.

-Redcloak casts Disintegrate before losing his right eye. This is significant because...

-In #802, V overcomes the exact problems which plagued him/her in #677--his/her pride and temper. In the very next strip, Blackwing overcomes the exact problem which plagued him in #677--shiny things.

I never noticed that Durkon is getting a kind of sense on the laws of plotline durations, but he still underestimates the effect of the law. In the end, they left on the carpet in strip 818... so in 86 pages.
