He "hates, fears, or otherwise opposes" unwanted advise and misguided chastisements, not Durkon and Elan personally.
Not if my index finger has anything to say about it. And, as it turned out, it had quite the stirring dissertation prepared on that very subject.

I'm fairly certain V's just saying that she 'hates, fears or opposes' unwanted advice and misguided chastisements. Otherwise his/her first speech bubble in the last panel has no place.

Edit: I'm awake now! Triple posts deleted.

opposes at that time. V's main obsession is reuining the party to finish the quest and feels they should ditch the azurites. D and E want to help the azurites, probably on the assumption it's easier for two people to contact a fleet than the other way round, and because they owe quite a lot to the azurites.

No, he implies there that he hates, fears or otherwise opposes them giving him unwanted advice, not that he hates them as people.

I just noticed that in the first panel of the very first strip, Belkar's dagger is at its 3.5 size. It's significantly bigger when we see him next in panel 5, and then shrinks again due to the edition change.

Because they have weird feet? We see the feet of the baby in 433, and it grew toes by then. And if the mother normally wears boots, why would she not be wearing them in the panel, which is a normal slice of life scene for goblins.

No split feet generally means wearing-shoes, for goblinoids. I think.

Where does it say that? And we still never see either one wearing shoes, even when one of them is in battle.

In the totally badass strip where O-Chul demonstrates his badass-ness, he punches the shark and knocks a few teeth loose. Later panels show the gap where the teeth were knocked loose.

It never says it, but it makes sense. Why else would their other toes not be visible? And we definitely know that shoes are often drawn as just those lines.

Oh, you meant invisible shoes. Sorry, I thought you meant that for some reason goblins without split feet wore boots, but in panels other than the ones we could see. Like people who have foot related birth defects wearing shoes to support them or something.

When Durkon calls on Thor's specialty to break Control Weather, the lightning was said to have struck at least four miles away. Sound travels at around 350 meters/sec in air, which means it takes 5 seconds to go one mile (1600m). Durkon only counts to four.

Thus, either the viscoelasticity of the atmosphere is higher than on Earth (possible if the composition has a bunch of crazy-larger molecules), or miles are measured differently in OOTSverse (probably much more likely).

Or, Rich did not do the math and used the old saying that thunder "travels" at the speed of 1 mile per second. Hence the counting to 4 and the comment of it being 4 miles away. This is similar to the Trial of Heart issue. I can't find the link but the blood pressure Roy has should mean Roy is dead as its absurdly low. When it was put to print, Rich corrected this with a more accurate, healthy blood pressure but that wasn't until it was pointed out by a fan who knew more about blood pressure than he did. The common person will understand "thunder travels at 1 mile per hour" than the complex wave equations to see how fast sound travels in atmosphere over a given distance. I know personally my parents told me about the counting to determine how far away the lightning struck.

Very much this. This is infinitely more likely than the fact that Rich decided to arbitrarily represent an OotSverse mile as an entirely different length than an Earth mile, but not let us know in any way save representing it via a very obscure plot detail.

And if you can't stand the OotSverse not being perfectly scientifically accurate, it's much easier to say, well, the druid's estimations were off (it wasn't actually over four miles off) or Durkon's counting was wrong (his Dwarven accent makes miss'ssippi's longer than a human's).

Or the cutaway panel takes ~1 second. Or it struck closer than 4 miles away and the druid just exaggerated a bit. Or Durkon's "Now" comment was the replacement for the 5th Mississippi.

Plenty of ways to explain it without having to resort to either 'OOTS miles are different' or 'Rich made a mistake' .

It's not 5 seconds for four miles, it's five seconds for one mile. Durkon counts to four, so he's off by sixteen seconds, not one.

When Soon's Gate is destroyed, you can juuuuuust see Redcloak and Xykon flying to safety in the upper right corner of the first panel.
