Probably depends on whether the manga is monthly or weekly. FMA was monthly and Brotherhood usually did 1-2 chapters per episode. I think Naruto, Bleach and One Piece are weeklies, which means shorter chapters.

i actually thought the beach gave us an interesting look at azula. and while poorly done, the exposition on mai made her an actual character.

Azula's Character Exposition was the most interesting of the lot, and it was amusing seeing the difference between her political charisma and her social skills.

In Exalted terms, I guess she has a billion dots in Presence or Expression and none in Socialize.

Hm...rewatched the baby Korra clip again. I'm starting to lean towards the "she saw someone else doing it" theory, since she only uses Earth, Fire and Waterbending. If it was just something she naturally figured out, we'd have seen some Air.

i believe the general conversion rate is 5chapter-1episode for shonen.

I think the only way you can get anywhere near a ratio like that is by factoring in filler on one side or the other; I chose DN because it has none.

Also emotional depth! Yay. Aang wasn't a one note wonder, but emotions other than his normal enthused state was very subdued. It's good to see Korra's emotions being much wider ranging.
