It's been too long since I posted here. Partly because I'm still working on the same cussin' project (Zecora fic), although being busy hasn't helped much. I'm not sure if I'll submit it to ED when finished, as I'm not that thrilled with it right now, but I started it, so I'm gonna finish it. If the reaction is good enough, I might though.

Today feels so weird, pony thread. I don't know what I'm supposed to do.

I haven't gotten a single submission, haven't dug through a pile of pictures and thought about what the best comment for each one would be. I haven't given a lick of thought to new themes, and I haven't really done much of anything that could be considered creative. Mostly I've just rested.

And after a day of resting, I have never felt more burned out and exhausted than I do right now. What gives?

Doing nothing is tiring. When I'm on an uncreative slump, I sometimes binge on movies, Starcraft replays or TV shows. And at the end of the day I feel even less creative and more exhausted than when I started.

What works for me is getting that momentum going again. If I work even when I don't feel it, over the course of hours or days I can pull myself out of a slump through brute forcing it.

THAT SAID you've done 30 days non stop grind, which I haven't exactly ever done, and I'm not going to recommend breaking into another run when you just got your ability to sleep back. But consider gently creating. Something zero-pressure, just a meander of fingers across a keyboard. While you're watching a movie, scrawl some notes down.

If you're rolling, no matter how gently, you're not standing still.
