Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I feel the nostalgia argument has its merits, but taking it so far as the video does oversells the idea by a significant margin.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I was referring to this video, linked a few posts before my own. Basically, it argues that Adventure Time's primary appeal to an adult demographic amounts to both nostalgia for the viewer's childhood and (meta?-)nostalgia embedded within the show itself.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Okay, just realised something that clinch's Adventure Time as the best show on tv.
SpoilerThe most powerful being in existance lives in a Time Cube. It's even called that. You know, the one from the super-crazy webpage that spouted nonsense about how time was cubed or somesuch?
Also, some notes on the episode:
Spoiler
The Crown is something out a Lovecraft novel. I think we all know this already, and that no one would be surprised if it had "Made in Leng" written on it somewhere. However, it's also sentinent, and clearly cared for Simon. Even in a early episode, on a shelf, we heard it continualy say it was sorry in a vaugly young voice (image to jog the brains).
Even in Holly Jolly Secrets, it was telling Simon that it would protect him....by causing a early winter pre-nuking. In essance, it probably thinks like something along the lines of Flame Princess: Cold is good, along with protecting wearer, even if making wearer forget and do things he does not want is needed. Naturaly, it feels remorse about the whole thing, but beforehand, Simon would be dead, and now that the poor guy is a half-senile old man, how could he protect himself without him?
In a early episode, the Ice King said he was 600 years old. Now, this could be chalked up to the Ice King being crazy, but Marcline not only said that she was a thousand years old, but that the Ice Crown casted a spell the freeze the world for 400 years. Presumably, 600 years after the end of the world in normal-Ooo time was the point Simon stopped counting the years and started to enjoy the frost.
Something akin to one Mr. Goose shows up, human. Or something akin to it. Now, going by the newspaper clipping of Simon with a name close to Choose Goose on it and the fact said Goose seemingly had a entire shop filled with magical items in the episodes he shows up in....
My guess: he lived in northern scandinavia in the regular timeline. There would be weirder things that have happened.
(Looking at the Wiki, apparently the storybord for The Enchiridion had a scene with the Choose Goose in it. Not related at all. Nope.)
Also, Simon wandered the world for a bit after the end. Now, it's unlikely that all the magical gems needed to open up one of the most powerful magical objects in existance would find there way to a relitivly small island naturaly, so chances are he was searching the world for the gems to ask for the events leading up to the end of the world never happened. Until, you know, he finaly retreated to whatever place the Ice Kingdom is now, probably had some horrible half-tantrum that caused a good amount of land to freeze over, and finaly loose it.
Also, it could be that humans look a little bit different on every different world. While in Ooo, Simon and Betty have no visible noses, dispite being alive before the end of the world, every human on not-Ooo has them. Every single one. Presumably, it's a little "diversifer" that makes every world a special little snowflake. Presumably, not-Ooo would have freaky no-nose mutants with nosed near-humans.
Old-Marcy probably only has four fingers on each hand like her Ooo counterpart, as apposed to five like every other human in the not-Ooo, due to Hudson having four no matter what timeline Ooo is in. Presumably, the Nightosphere is a seperate world unto itself, like what was noted to exist in "The Lich", and demonic genes probably beat out whatever the hay her mother was (probably not human, considering the one picture we get a glimpst of her shows her being grey-skinned like Marcy).
...Glob, I feel like a nerd.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Could it be that part of his obsessive princess collecting had something to do with the timecube, the enchiridion, his crown, and the gems of power? Besides the Ice King, the only gems of power we saw getting collected were held by the series various princesses (apparently LSP is not a real princess since she lacks a magic gemstone but fakes it with the star thing), could the crown have been trying to get him to reunite the gems of power but his addled mind not actually grasp it?

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Anyone been reading the Marceline and the Scream Queens comic at all?
Because Number 5
SpoilerHas the cutest story about Jake and Lady. They're getting into a silly argument over shoes when a Shoe Wizard gets annoyed by them talking and zaps Lady.
She loses her voice and can only speak through a Synthesizer, and even then only in music notes. But they persevier on to hunt down the Shoe Wizard, until Jake gets distracted by an ice cream truck which leads to another argument and Lady leaving in anger! D:
He goes to speak with his bro, Finn, who runs off with not a word said. LSP just tells him to lump off and dance. BMO says to dump her and then slips into Sleep Mode.
As Jake lays awake staring at a picture of him and Lady, dressed as Jake and Finn respectively with paper plate masks, he suddenly gets an idea.
The next day Lady is just playing with the synthesizer when a single note pierces the air, she follows the note to a lone tree where Jake stands, carrying a keyboard guitar thing.
They both dive into the music, getting closer and closer with such sweet smiles. The mood changes as Finn comes rushing back, dragging none other than the Shoe Wizard!
Lady's voice is back with a vengeance and the story ends with Jake saying I love you.
It was just so sweet! :D

Got a whole bunch of crap past the radar this time while at the same time tweaking the nose of the radar in this episode.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I want to give Cartoon Network's whole S&P department a big hug for making this episode possible. Y'all are great.
Thoughts on the episode:
SpoilerI wonder how Emo talks like that and gets his voice to line up to the animation. Seems like it would take a lot of takes to get right.
Also, I think the music shop's sign/giant pick thing was a reference to The Legend of Zelda, (When you played the Ocarina it also showed music on a four line, three space bar with a g-clef instead of the more common five line, four space bar) but I don't know what song that's meant to be.... I came to appreciate that mountains make poor receptacles for dreams.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I have, but I only have issues 1, 2 and 4. Issue 3 should be arriving with my We Love Fine order (which I probably won't see for a month). And I had to pay extra for issue one because I could only find the stupid limited edition Comicon cover. :/
I loved the extra story in #4 with Peppermint Butler and Cinnamon Bun. That was hilarious!
SpoilerPB "We have to do our best to blend in."
CB "Got It." *rushes up to nearest person* "HI I'M CINNAMON BUN"
Already got my subscription for AT with Fionna and Cake when that comes out!
Anyway, latest episode. Was good, not great.
SpoilerBest bit was probably Beemo and Football's story. Football is a real girl now!
Also, they totally got me with the five fingers thing.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
SpoilerIf they really did do all 5 fingers, how'd they get that past the censors?
The Graybles episodes aren't really a favorite of mine. I'm impressed they can nicely fit 5 different stories in that amount of time, but the stories themselves don't stand out as too great.
