I'm torn between saying "you're not missing much" and "it gets confusing, but it's well worth it."

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
Indeed, they should be LEMON!
Lissou: Well, explicitly never doing something is a limit on what is actionable, whereas having something open as an option is not necessarily a limit on what is actionable just in terms of general language use as far as I've ever known.
And that kind of ...split? is definitely going to be a limit on whether potential partners would be willing to have a relationship given those terms.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
I actually agreed with your point, at least in part. When I said "you've got to admit", I was more (though not specifically) talking to cycoris for instance who thought your point of view sad and (I interpreted, correct me if I'm wrong) limiting.
Bottom line is, I think Kitty shouldn't cross off cismen from her list of potential partners, but I can see how it wouldn't work for many of them, and it's not like PiV is the only thing for which a penis is involved.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
MWAHAHAHA-Wait, I am in your harem, which is a lot less paradoxical than it sounds, and now you are worshipping me?
Cor blimey! The paradox could destroy the world!
Or possibly just make for a hilarious sitcom, but destroying the world is more dramatic.
I think that was because Coid sounded a tad like he thought male genitalia was essential to sex if one of the participants have them. If my memory isn't being wonky again.
If I am right, however, then it's apparently just a misunderstanding. So we can get back to what's important!

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
So uhm I was able to pass as androgynous in a chat, they couldn't decide if I was male or female, which made me really happy. I'm thinking about getting my eyebrows tweezed to be more feminine and generally working out more to get more masculine, but are there any other tips for androgynous people?

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
My Thor, the pace of this thread is crazy. more than 10 pages in a few days.
Excuse me, what is PiV?
Clothing has a lot of influence on an androgynous look.
Remaining thin make look also more feminine.
This is highly subjective, anyway.Que tous les anciens dieux et les nouveaux protègent la France.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Generally the people I've encountered who one can tell that they tweeze have had a tendency to err on the side of not wanting eyebrows anymore because they had some kind of pathological revulsion towards them, so, YMMV, but when to stop being a bit of an issue has come up in conversations that have touched upon the subject with all of those that I've had conversations on the subject with.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
"Reparative therapy consists of forcing oneself to participate in manly activities[...]; and avoiding activities that Exodus considers to appeal to homosexuals, such as going to the opera or museums."
Museums?
[Expletive], dude, I didn't get the memo that museums were "gay", but that must explain a very subjective observation that homophobes are complete idiots.
Then again, someone did say that brain is the most important sexual organ, so stimulating it a lot in a group of same-gendered people... yep. :D

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
I think the other part is I just don't feel that comfortable flirting with cis men in a situation where sex would normally be considered to be somewhere down the line. I just feel like I'm being a tease, showing sexual interest in a guy and then saying "sorry I don't actually like that."

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
I don't know if that works, I've been going to the museums since I was 3, and see what influence it had on me. I suspect that's because I watched a lot of robotic dinosaurs in that one natural sciences museum. Robot dinos stand on the "manly" end of the spectrum, generally speaking.

There's a south park sound byte on the subject, near the end of the episode with the egg...
It is a little weird though how phallic our society's particular sexual obsessions can be though.

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Well, there is this thing called 'corrective rape' in South Africa.
Isn't there a phenomenon called lesbian invisibility? Or was that bi-invisibility? I read something called 'the four most homophobic comics ever made' and there were no lesbians. No bisexuals. Just card-carrying gays.Avatar by CoffeeIncluded

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
So... I just found out that Stephen Fry is openly gay. Does this mean I wasn't imagining subtext (both in universe and meta) between him and Hugh Laurie?

Re: LGBTAitp - Part Fifteen
Exactly my thought. Curing gays only creates more competition.
I suspect that when homophobic men picture "the gay" they see him at this 'uncanny-valley'-distance from real men. They're not real men - obviously - but they're not women either. Whereas lesbians are just another kind of woman. More challenging, yes, but we all know that they just haven't met a real man yet.
God, I feel dirty just typing that. Moving on...Avatar by CoffeeIncluded
