uhm, hey, I'm pretty much in the exact same boat, so I would love to hear what anyone has to say about this. I'm pretty much so far in the closet that's it's snowing by the lamppost, so it sounds like your parents at least have some idea your not straight. Other than joining my GSA and having my cousin knit me a pansexual pride bracelet (last night) I haven't done anything, y'know, publicly. So, uh, can't really help with coming out. The only differences is I feel more androgynous than feminine, so I'll probably need to get more balanced clothes rather than clearly feminine clothes. But it's awesome to meet a bird of paradise of a feather.

In France, there are some gay politics, the most known is Bertrand Delanoë, the mayor of Paris.
When he became mayor 10 years ago, there were a few people against him because of his homosexuality, but not so many.
Nowadays, nobody speak of this any more. There are some other politics who made their coming out and nobody seems to care, except maybe some people from the (maybe religious) right.
Yet there are many politic from the right who stay in the closet.

I don't remind any lesbian famous politics, however.

Absolutely. Here in Berlin, we've got Klaus Wowereit, keeps getting voted mayor, "came out" on national TV way back when and still gets quoted with it, but politics-wise, noone cares. Over in Neukölln, for one, it's (allegedly) Islamist Central, and they'll still mess you up if you badmouth him. I think that's saying something. On the other hand, we've also got Westerwelle. And, well... Yeah. We've also got Westerwelle. Let's not talk about that.

Err, this is the problem, my dad is seemingly highly homophobic, and most of his remarks don't help the situation, and my mom is super nosy and needs to know basically everything and it annoys me when she asks questions about stuff I obviously don't want her to ask me about. Plus I'm moving out soon end of grade 12) due to the army and I'm thinking of just waiting until then so they can't pester me 24/7.

So, I have been going to local trans support group for sometime. In there I have seen how hormones have affected a fellow MTF of around my age, and how IMO she has been turning prettier and prettier. Gives me hope :D
