[Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXXXVI

It needed him less than a secound to think over it and to be true this is what he is doing the last months since he entered the nexus. Well ok he did things, but non of them are things you do for living.

[Rebonack]

Riley gets a rather belated reply from Raven. A pretty simple too! "I am not fond of the thing living inside you."

Why?

Well.

Because normally she murders things like that.

But Riley isn't actually a servant of the Old Ones. More of a victim... Which means she isn't allowed to kill him where he stands. Or sits in this case.

At some point Ib'ahalii had crunched himself into humanoid shape and he and Divaonar have take to zooming around some little toy cars on the floor. Look at them go!

Sadei is busy assembling a little house for her knight and his noble steed.

[Halae]

Eric slowly shakes off his deadtime. He wonders whether the chimeras are going to leave him alone now that a couple days have passed

[Rebonack]

No.

No they won't.

As soon as he starts moving he catches Sadei's (previously Plum) attention. The little girl edges over to Eric and reaches up to put a little lego firefighter on his table.

"...hello..." comes her greeting, just above a whisper. Her hands are clasped behind her back and her eyes are locked on her feet. She's quite shy, and it's pretty clear that it's taking a great deal of effort to be so out-going.

...

She's really adorable though!

"I might be able to help. With... umm... with the extra limbs..."

[Halae]

"You can?" Eric asks, zipping coat back up, "You don't need your mother for it?"

[Rebonack]

The little girl shakes her head. "I don't know. Maybe?" Then reaches into her pocket to pull out a little scrap of paper and a pencil. Onto the paper she'll draw a branch-like design and then hold it out for Eric to take.

"How does it make you feel?"

The Elder Sign...

Might make Eric feel uncomfortable. Depending on how deeply rooted the power of Yog-Sothoth is it could range anywhere from a feeling of nebulous irritation to a strong sense of confinement.

It may be localized in the new limbs...

...or in his whole body.

All hinges on how deeply the Primordial's power has seeded itself in him.

"I'm sorry..." Riley hangs his head sadly. He doesn't WANT to upset anyone.

"Oh come on, surely you've done SOMETHING to pay the bills and bring in the bacon, eh?"

Riley SHOULD be sorry!

He should be sorry that he was born in that forsaken place and implanted with a horror from beyond space and time! He should feel awful and it's all his fault.

*ahem*

Raven then asks a question of her own.

"Would you care to have it removed?"

...

Have the feeling that there will be a very affirmative answer to that.

Yes?

"No. The last thing i did was befor I got here and then I did nothing. So until I'm in the Nexus I lived from the money I had and from GloG charity."

[Halae]

the Chimera previously known as Plum may notice Eric's tentacles twitch, "Like something's pressing on my back, and like the... extra limbs are being held down. It's... also a little hard to breathe." Eric clutches at his chest, and he's wheezing a bit, like he's having an asthma attack. But that's odd - He's always had strong lungs. "What's with the symbol, anyways?"

[Rebonack]

Sadei bits her lip and looks away briefly. "It's Mother's symbol. I... think it helps keep things out. Or in."

Certainly feels like it's doing something to Eric!

"You're feeling suppressed. You're reacting to it. But mostly back there," she points at the tentacles. "That means more of the power is there,"

And then moves to point at Eric's chest.

"Than there is there."

Sadei wrinkles her nose a bit.

"I... think that might be good. Or maybe not as bad. But if Yoggy's power has already seeded in you..."

She gives Eric a rather apologetic look.

[Earl of Purple]

Oddball takes cover with Jamie, though recovers quickly and readies himself for battle, in case Jamie's attacked or attacks.

He's also more like a walking radish than a talking beet; oddishes can't talk beyond 'oddish', but can walk. They're also based on raddishes.

[Halae]

"Then you won't be able to help," Eric says, sighing, "I understand. If you can do something about it, I'd seriously appreciate it. Anything at all."

[Rebonack]

"If... umm... If you use Yoggy's power less the mutations might come slower," Sadei suggests. Though there's a bit of emphasis on might.

"I just... I don't know... Mother knows a lot more than I do..."

And Mother is taking a nap at the moment.

Makes going to her for advice rather hard, yes?

"What about the Silver Key?" Divaonar pipes up.

Sadei gives him a rather... uncertain look.

"The Silver Key allows a sorcerer touched by Yog-Sothoth to enter his domain and have a chat. Maybe you could ask him to remove his power from you?"

[Halae]

Eric blinks. Sorcerer? He didn't know magic... unless that's what his powers were. Weird, but he's not really going to question it right now.

"So, do you know where to find it? if possible, I'd like to keep the abilities without turning into an anthropomorphic octopus or something."

[Rebonack]

Divaonar shakes his head. "It's a package deal. You get all of it or you get none of it. Eerr... You might even offend Yoggy if you told him you don't like the tentacles. He's kind of... weird..."

But that could be said about any of the Primordials, honestly.

Weeeeird...

"I don't know where you would find the key. You would have to figure that out on your own."

Sounds like a quest!

"The Key is highly sought after though. You may... uhh... have some competition."

"People will try to kill you," Ib'ahalii clarifies.

"I don't know what that would do to me..." Riley sounds scared. People have tried to remove the brand before.

Along with his whole arm, or his life.

Flix sprints for the Tavern, deeming it the safest-looking building in his immediate vicinity. Assuming none of the nulls tackle him before he reaches it, he quickly kicks the door open (he seems to do that a lot) and darts inside.

This totally happens. =O

Following closely behind the kroot is a null. It bellows in mindless rage.

Outside the tavern another two of the undead return the bellow. They stop however, and soon turn back the way they came.

[Saurous]

Flix leaps over a table as he enters the Tavern, flipping it over in an attempt to put some space between himself and the null chasing him. He spins around and aims his pulse carbine at the monster, though he doesn't fire just yet.

[Rebonack]

Raven is about to respond to Riley when SUDDENLY KROOT!

...and Null.

And a juggling bear riding a unicycle!

That last one probably isn't as much of a threat as the first two. But you never know with bears. Those wily bears...

*ahem*

The various chimeras ready themselves for a fight!

If anything else comes in here it'll have a full force of adorable little Far things ripping it apart!

When the monsters charge into the tavern, a deep dwarf at the bar jumps up and-

-gets to watch as the monsters are eviscerated by a horde of far chimeras.

He approves. Especially if someone rips a jugular out. That's efficient.

The null scares Riley.
It really scares him.
The kid screams and ducks behind the chimeras, hoping that MLH will be kind enough to protect Riley again.

[Gullara]

The null completely ignores the threat the firearm presents and throws itself bodily at Flix and his table. All it cares about is getting the kroot's tasty flesh in its mouth.

[Saurous]

The Kroot mobster snorts as the null tries to rush him, and promptly fires three rapid shots at the beast's head, each pull of the trigger being accompanied by a bright blue flash of light and a distinctive pew as the high-powered projectiles go whizzing out of the carbine's barrel.

[Gullara]

Pew pew pew

The null dies rather messily and the kroot gets to live another day. He totally won't ever be hunted down and killed for escaping. Nope.

[Saurous]

Flix keeps his gun trained on the null's corpse, slowly stepping around the table to get a better look at it. Once he's sure that it's dead, he holsters his carbine on a harness worn on his back.

He glances about at the patrons of Trog's, his sunglasses-clad face failing to express any noticeable emotion. He points a clawed finger down at the dead zombie and utters something in a language of clicks and squawks. It's probably not a language that anyone nearby is familiar with, but his gestures seem to imply something along the lines of "I'll get that." He then flips the abused table upright and goes to close the Tavern's door.

Raril shakes himself awake and wanders over to his favorite chair by the fire. The drow sinks into the chair and puts his feet up. He was tired and wanting a glass of wine. Trog's served Cormyrian Fireamber, a favorite of his, but was now a good time to indulge?

His wife was dead...dreaming? She wasn't here, he knew that much. Suddenly, he had a half dozen more children than he did before. Starspawn were likely still terrorizing the city, and with Zee gone, did the responsibility of destroying them fall to him? And if so, could he really risk his children in that fight?

The drow looked out across the Tavern, at the mix of chimeras and half-drow that were his offspring. They all looked so young, far younger than even he had been when he first tasted battle. Raril knew they were even younger than they appeared. Still, most, if not all, had been bloodied and killed. They were strong, like their mother, and clever, which he hoped was a trait they'd inherited from him.

Raril sighed. Out of habit, he reached out for the small table next to his chair. The drow was surprised to find a full glass of fireamber there. He looked up in time to see Paige pass by. The waitress smiles at him, and the drow says a quiet thank you before taking a sip. A tired smile played across his face as the golden liquid warmed him inside.

MLH, or Ib'ahalii as he was recently named, has formed a radiant white halberd as soon as the null had come tumbling into the tavern. In fact, the weapon is still pointed at the thing in case it started to move again.

Because... Y'know.

Undead.

Undead can survive things they shouldn't.

The sight of a child wielding a weapon like that might strike some as a bit...odd.

Divaonar pokes at the null.

With a stick.

Not sure where he got the stick from, honestly.

Raven hasn't moved. Though Sadei quickly ran over to Raril when the monster broke into the tavern. Whether for protection or to protect isn't clear.

Uh, oh. The Half-Klingon woman is back, and this time she has picked a bar fight with a Wookiee. Her arrogance hasn't left her blind to the fact that this walking carpet could kick her ass in a brawl, so both are attacking at range. Hopefully, no one is hit by the stray blaster bolts and disruptor blasts.

[Murkus]

Percival enters the tavern. But deviating from usual, his officer's coat isn't trailing behind him. Instead, he's wearing a simple black button-down shirt.

The fiend looks and feels out of place in these new clothes, but he doesn't want to wear that Nazi relic forever. Still, a silver eagle's still pinned to his shirt. His sharp little eyes scan the bar, settling on the gunfight currently taking place.

He isn't sure whether to be amused or annoyed.
