You are not going to kill yourself, Valaira. Maybe we should talk to someone who might be able to help you.

"You're right, Zero. Suicide isn't the answer."

"It is far too messy."

"We'll hire a professional to do the dirty deed."

Valaira seems pretty adamant about the whole "I have to die" thing.

Valaira, no one is going to kill you. Don't you believe me when I say I'm going to try to help you?

"You can try to help me, but I don't think that anyone really can."

"Just promise me that if I try to kill you that you will kill me first."

This is sad day.

Valaira is still bawling her eyes out.

Salix grins for ear to ear. "I'll bring him when I come back tomorrow then. I'm sure he'll like it here."

I'm sure no one will be hurt, Valaira.

Valaira soon stops crying!

She then proceeds to rub her tear filled eyes with her sleeves.

"What are we going to do, Zero?"

Valaira is lost in the forests of her mind. Only Zero can guide her back to where she was before.

We're going try to go talk to some people and see if they can help you. If the portal shows up again, I'll try to get the other fragments of you back to safety.

Valaira merely nods.

Maybe this will work. Maybe Zero has found a viable solution to all of their problems.

Then again, maybe not.

No safety exists within the Nexus.

Not for Valaira, at the very least.

Zero begins thinking of ways that he can try to help Valaira.


Are you tired, Valaira?

"I'm not tired."

"I'm terrified."

Valaira attempts to hug Zero tighter.

"Whatever happens, I want you to know that I love you and that I will always love you."

That's sweet!

Valaira attempts to kiss Zero.

That's probably even sweeter.

Valaira will be able to kiss Zero.

I love you too, Valaira.

Zero says before he continues trying to think of ways to try to help Valaira. The problem is that Zero has never seen someone get turned into fragments like Valaira.

There are probably hints as to where the shards of Valaira are situated. For example, scrying on Valaira would likely divulge the location of at least one of the shards.

But that's not all that important as of yet...

The most pressing matter right now is this Valaira's mental state. She seems like she might do something extreme and uncalled for if she isn't bound to a chair or heavily sedated.

This one is quite unstable.

She is also willing to do whatever it takes to keep Zero out of harm's way.

Let's go find Quinn. Maybe she can find a safe way to help you while I go find the other fragments of you.

I guess that this Valaira deems words cannot aptly express her feelings on this matter.

Anyway, Valaira will stand up and follow Zero wherever he leads her, her headache drawing e'er closer to evolving into an unbearable affliction.

Rabbits are lagomorphs. It's the scientific order they're in. Therefore, Natalie's rabbits have an extra toe on each foot when compared with rabbits from most other worlds. There's other differences as well, but they're mostly internal.

"I can't wait to meet him." Natalie's being honest about that.

Reinholdt returns from the BDD, looking distant.
Though he carries several bottles of rum to go.
And heads for his room.

Toby approaches Rein on an intercept course. Hey. You okay?

[Reinholdt]

Rein is bald! Must be trying out that monk look.
He starts a bit when Tobias says something. Not like him to not notice the approach.
Unless glomps are involved, but those likely fracture space/time and cheat.

"Huh? Oh. Yeah. I'm good. How're you?"

I'm fine. The Druid gives Reinholdt a doubtful and concerned look, but doesn't press the issue. What have you been up to?

[Reinholdt]

"Infiltrating Magtok's lair, visiting Black Dragon Den and meeting Jeanstealers. You?" Reinholdt replies.

[FireFox]

Sounds fun. I've just been teaching classes in the lab and doing some research on viruses. It's... nicer than I thought. Keeping my head down and staying out of trouble, I mean. Toby shrugs.

[Reinholdt]

"Wouldn't know. Never seemed capable of it myself." Reinholdt admits with a frown.

"What viruses are you researching?"

[FireFox]

All sorts, but mostly the magical ones. There are a few strains that actually resist magical curing, and I'm trying to figure out mundane vaccines for them. He smiles slightly. Well, I just don't want to bring down any heat on my family... Especially since Quinn and I are having another kid.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt would probably ask more about the viruses, but he's a bit stunned.

"A-another kid?" He emphasizes.

[FireFox]

Yeah, what's the... Toby remembers that Rein has what can be tactfully stated as "issues" regarding the subject of fatherhood. Oh. Sorry, I didn't mean...

[Reinholdt]

"No. No... congratulations. I think you should have a dozen, frankly." Reinholdt's eyes flit away, towards the ground.

[FireFox]

The Druid frowns. I'm sorry, that was horribly insensitive of me.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt looks up and scowls a bit at Tobias. "I was serious. Don't let my life ruin your happiness."

He wants Tobias to have lots of kids!

"I think I should go lie down." Reinholdt says, resuming his walk to his cabin. By lie down, he means sit on his bed, get drunk, and test the lines of where overdosing is.
