Missy's emotions are alertness, determination, and fear, all overlaid with a gut-wrenching sense of grief, loss, fury, and longing.

Tirin is quite relieved that she seems to be as normal as one gets in the Nexus, and slips out of an alley near her, saying "Could you help me?"

Tirin has a snake-tail, claws on his hands and feet, and a snake's fangs.

Inside

Tirin gets the muzzle of a very large gun pointed at her, Missy having moved faster than should be possible for a human in heavy power armour.

"Mortal or Shoggoth? Tell me about your mother." Missy demands, her human voice coming out of a speaker in the armour, crackling a bit with static.

[Lady Serpentine]

[Inside]

"Mortal. And sorry, but I don't know about her. Got hit on the head at one point, knocked a lot of stuff out of my memory. I could tell you about my sister, though."

((Warning: If anyone involved in Umbrella Corp. back in normal Nexus is reading this, Tirin doesn't know this yet.))

"Then talk. You're on thin ice," Missy warns. Knocked on the head? Conveniently forgot something that important? A Shoggoth imposter would find that a useful excuse.

[Lady Serpentine]

[Inside]

"Let's see... She was my age the last time I saw her, but she probably isn't anymore. She's about my height, her hair was the same color as mine. She was in my group, back home. I think we were in one of the special patrols, though I'm not sure, but we were Barghic military, for certain. Her eyes were purple. She had scars on her face and neck from when we went hunting a kartasa. Is there anything else you want to know?"

Inside

"None of that proves anything! Why would I care how she looks? Prove you're a mortal, with mortal feelings and mortal ties!" An ommmmminous hum comes from something mounted on her shoulder. Tirin might get the feeling this is her last chance.

[Lady Serpentine]

[Inside]

"Fine. How? Do you want a description of my emotional state when I saw her gutted? When I got married, to someone who doesn't even exist anymore? What do you want me to do to prove it?"

His voice has gotten cold, and he sounds quite angry.

[Mindfreak]

Inside
Tirin might notice Elena running from some Eldritch Beasts. She didn't stop existing!
She's very far away and pretty much a speck on the horizon. She's also really scared right now.

[Lady Serpentine]

[Inside]

"Wait. Sorry. Got to go. I see Elena over there. It seems she still exists."

He starts running, then leaping, toward her, unless stopped. When he's leaping, he probably covers around fifty feet at once.

Ilpholin isn't stupid enough actually stick around in that death trap like everyone else. Death trap!

She's made it out with her half-sibling which is totally a lie!

She heads to the MagCave Entrance.

[Watchtower]

Butler has finally gotten all the fires put out!
Or rather, the fires went out on their own and now he's cleaning the mess up.
Boy it sure is quiet in here. Did everyone leave for another wedding and didn't tell him?
Oh well. Clean clean.

Missy isn't completely convinced, but he did grant himself an extension.

Until he goes running off. Yeah, probably was a Shoggoth after all, and was afraid I was on to him.

She considers firing after him, but ammo and fuel needs to be conserved. And she has somewhere to be.

Onward.

((Just how fast is she moving? Is possible that Tirin could catch up with her after he gets to Elena?))

((If Missy is still in the streets when you're encounter is done, you can catch up with her. If she has arrived at her parents house and moved on from there, you probably can't. Once our characters are in different scenes, each of us will be moving at the speed of our own encounter. ))

The disco ball Mainframe drone speaks up.

The organics appear to be in a mournful condition. This is suboptimal. I will play a recording of sounds strung together in a narrative format. I have often observed that this can affect the mood state of organics.

His words are only heard by those who are near the drone, but when the music starts to play, it streams through the speakers all over the cave.

It seems the Quill Wolves are startled by the music. Their quills are standing straight up, and their tails are ready to attack.

The rest of Rael's group keeps going.

Including S'Kanthos, who looks like some form of Starspawn, but isn't. Probably he should change forms...

((Makes sense. Also, Karyana, the vampire in Burnett's Clinic, isn't there to get help, just set up an appointment for some people to be treated offscreen, so if you've been holding off because you didn't want to have to deal with her issues, you don't have too. Of course, if you'd prefer to handle it in the regular post, that's fine too; I'm just letting you know.))

Andy is still flying around in Inside I really have forgot about him since all where at Mag markt.

Elena jumps and turns. She pulls out two pocket sized Incenerator Units. She fired them simultaneously at the Eldritch creatures, burning them into a crisp. She gave a sigh of relief as she turned her head and saw Tirin.
"Tirin!" she said as she ran over to hug him.

[Lady Serpentine]

[Inside]

Tirin doesn't really slow down, trying to simply scoop her up as he goes. If it works, he'll then turn around and start heading for Missy again, still carrying Elena.

Elena gives a confused: Mrrrow as she's picked up by Tirin.
"Where have you been?"

[Inside]

He tries to pull her close against him, saying "I ended up getting chased by some things."

She might notice him mutter something in Barghic after he says that.

The alarm clock is prodded at with a stick! It proves to be a normal, mundane alarm clock. There... doesn't seem to be that much down here. It's actually kind of boring.

Seems all the monsters have vacated the city. Too busy devouring everyone Inside.

Speaking of Inside...

[Inside]

The streets are eerily silent, save for low moans and calls that echo through the heavy mist that seems to have settled over the city. There is little movement. Little life. A ghost town if ever there was one. As Missy nears her destination a sharp, pained cry pierces the silence from nearby before falling quiet once again.

Sounds like something just died.

But... Nothing else. Not a sound.

[MagCave Entrance]

Divaonar is following his half-sister! And he doesn't feel much like a lie. If he were a lie he would be cake! Or... not be cake? Something. It's confusing.

The lad remains in half-drow form if only to make it less likely that someone will shoot at him.

Streets of Inside

Missy aims her gun again at Tirin and Elena again. "How do I know you're human? How am I supposed to trust anything you say?!" she demands. The strain of the past few days shows in her voice, and it sounds like she's about to crack.

[Mindfreak]

Inside
Elena has already cracked. She pulls out one of the pocket incinerators and points it at Missy.
"Because I'm not! How do I know you're not a shoggath!?"

[Lady Serpentine]

[Inside]

Tirin says "Both of you. Calm down. If I weren't human, why would I have saved her from the Starspawn? And if she weren't human, why would she need saving?"


He pauses for a moment, then says: "Also: Do not threaten her again. Ever."

[Inside]

Why would a shoggoth save someone from some random Far-thing?

To remain in character of course! Shoggoths are known to even attack other shoggoths that have been discovered in order to deflect suspicion of what they are. Sneaky buggers.

Helps to make people all the more paranoid.

Hmmm...

And there's that feeling of being watched again...

Though with this blasted mist it's pretty hard to see very far.

No doubt whatever the thing is it's lurking just beyond visible range.

He didn't save her from the star spawn! She saved herself! But Missy didn't see that, so she doesn't point it out.

Also Missy didn't threaten anyone! At least not in words. Her gun is still pointed at the pair, and there's no telling how many other weapons are built into her power armour. "What do you want?" Missy demands. The only reason she hasn't tried to shoot the incinerator out of Elena's hand is that she knows it can't hurt her through her armour, and because she knows every bullet counts.

Tirin gets that too, but he figures that calming Missy is more important than strict accuracy.

"We need someplace safe to stay."

He scans Elena.

[Mindfreak]

Inside
Elena keeps the pocket incinerator unit out and takes out her other one.
"Tell me what you want, Iron Maiden, and I'll tell you what I want."
She's scared and angry.

[Lady Serpentine]

[Inside]

Tirin tries to implant a bit of calm in Elena.

"From you? Nothing. You came to me, remember?" Missy says irritably.

"As far as somewhere to stay, the safest place is the MagCave. And the reason it's safe is because everyone has to prove themselves before being allowed in. If you show up there waving incinerators around when people ask sensible questions, you won't be allowed in. You'll be shot. If I wasn't in such a cheerful **** mood today, you already would be."
