Yes, the subtitle is a Calvin and Hobbes reference.

This comic is jointly created by my little brother (not on this site) and me. He's responsible for the idea, the story, and 90+% of the jokes. I do the art, ~10% of the story and jokes, and put it up on here.

Trying for a weekly update schedule again, probably on Sundays. We'll see how long it lasts...

Hey, it's a fairy tale, not the actual middle ages In fairy tales, the princesses have a right to actually be in love with their husbands, and not that silly Oh-of-course-I-love-you-because-you-rescued-me junk that gets passed off in so many stories and always drives me nuts

    I LOVE it!

Totally worth the wait and all the teasers

Especially like the map of the two countries looking remarkably like they're nestled within the vast, sharp-toothed mouth of a nasty monster

Haha, that guy has three ace of diamonds in his hand.

Yay for nice webcomic that is only on it's first strip but is getting relatively low amounts of attention in a place where popularity is very competitive and viewership rather low because IMO the fan-comic page is one of the least visited subforum.

Sorry for lack of punctuation in the last sentence. My grammar teacher would not be proud. Haha.

Oooh, nice start to a webcomic. I like it a lot.

Is it just me or does the guy "slaying" the dragon looks kinda Guybrush Threepwood-y? (For those who don't get the reference, yeah, I'm old )

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend playing a game with that card player (there's a reason he's got the most money ).

I wouldn't know about the dragon slayer being Guybrush-y; I've never played Monkey Island (). I'll let you tell me when you've seen him a bit more.

And thanks everyone who's said they like it

Savannah, I must ask, how do you export your comics from, I think I remember you using, Inkscape? If not Inkscape, please disregard this.

I don't think I do anything unusual...(and, yes, I use Inkscape). I create a temporary layer under everything and put a box on it that just covers the area I want to export. Then I make that layer invisible while I've got the box selected, so that I have the correct area selected but I won't export the box as well. I look at the size of the box in pixels (at the top of the page), and when I get to the export options, I make sure the exported picture's size is the same as the box, so that I don't accidentally resize my comic while I export. And that's it. Did that cover what you wanted to know? I'm not quite sure what you're asking

That's exactly what I was looking for. The problem is that everyone follows that method shown by Trazoi in his guide, but everyone seems to be getting better image quality results than I. Oh well.

Hmm, that's odd... As far as I know, the image quality isn't going to be affected during exporting, no matter what you do. (Although if you then import the image you just exported into Inkscape, it will look very pixelated.) What sorts of problems are you having?

Nothing serious; it's probably just my own eyes and brain telling me my art will never be as good as some other people. It's probably perfectly fine, I'll just go back to finishing my comic now.

If you are still curious, peer closely at any of my comics and compare it to yours, and check if the various edges of stuff are blurred.

Yeah, now it's up to whether Savannah can keep it up with a routine schedule. That can be a difficult thing to do. I had an OotS-style webcomic a long time ago and it didn't last very long. Then... the story and art wasn't that great either.

Now, now, I've seen some other good ones. Sadly, most didn't last long... (Writing-wise, I think it helped that my brother and I had the story idea long before we got this started. It started as two separate ideas, actually, one about an adventuring hero heavily based on the Asterix and Obelix comics, and one about writing the story "Why Prince Charming Stayed Single". Then they ended up getting combined somehow, and only then did I get the idea to do it as an OotS-style comic. So the plot's been around for ages, and I know exactly where I'm going with it.)

Well, the good news is that anytime I'm at all stuck on the script, I can just call my brother and it always seems to work itself out within 10 minutes. Co-authors are awesome. And I waited to post this until I had five strips made, so I know it will last for at least a little while (And, even if I can't keep up the schedule, I can promise that it won't ever truly die -- we've got the whole plot laid out until the very end, and we're planning on giving it to our family for a Christmas present sometime (you all are kinda a test audience ), so it will get done eventually.)

Agreed. One doesn't cross Lady Red lightly Those three remind me of the three girls in Beauty and the Beast who were after Gaston - same clothes just different colours.

I love it - is it wrong that the king reminded me of Elan?

Not really; he reminds me a little of Elan, too. I tried really hard to make it so that he didn't, but the fact is any stick-figure with that style of blond hair looks a little like Elan...
