This entire conversation went on and I was just sitting here, looking at my 7,500 strong pony folder (all art, no macros), with 60 folders and 2.61 GB on my hard drive.

Which now outnumbers my 2K strong non-pony art folder by 3.5:1

Ysee, a Solar has the charms to be an archer, or use thrown, or to be scary, use a sword, be a doctor, be a sorcerer... The rules themselves may push them towards sexy or fighty, but they still have choice. For Lunars, it is mechanically superior to be an MA user or a supersexy person. They don't even HAVE archery charms. There is far less that they can actually do.

With some creativity and some custom charms you can broaden their horizons hugely. I had a Dingo-Totem No Moon named Bites the Rain who was a doctor/medicine man with a bunch of custom Perception/Stamina charms for controlling plague. When he bit you, he could either suck all the plague out of your body or pump your body full of plague. He was kind of scary.

Really, your limitations for Lunars is "The Animal Kingdom", which can actually be broader than "Human Excellence" in places.

This does make sense. It's still a form of magic that powers it, even if it's not anything they can possibly control. Just like a magical item in D&D has magic on it, and when detect magic is used it lights up. There's magic there, even though the item was a result of magic, rather than having magic.

This makes some pretty good sense; combined with the trick of light on the eye from the colors. Like the streak that would normally occur from her mane stains the magical runoff, elongating and exacerbating the naturally occurring trail?

Still doesn't have to mean they have any magic. May just be an effect of their nature, maybe it follows naturally from some laws of magic that governs the world that pegasi, when they move in certain ways at certain velocities cause certain effects or whatever.

So, sorry to interupt the current conversation , but I did not know if any of you had read this. Its most likley the best Gilda fic on ED, and while it does perhapes make Gilda a bit too simpthetic it does raise the question of how a preditory race could survive in a suger bowl that has talking, walking prey animals in it. The way he deals with that may be a bit... unerving to some, but the fic as a whole is solid. Warning: OC ponys in the second story.
