You climb down about 30 feet and then the ground starts to come less steep. there still is a gentle slope going down as you walk... the spiders you find arround start becomeing larger, almost the size of a fist. if you run at full speed down, you might have trouble stopping. some parts of the cave are uneven or too wet, making it difficult terrain (very dark grey)
You see that the walls are all full of cracks and crevices. while a giant spider won't be able to sneak up on you, small or tiny spiders may find their way.
as you walk in with your light, you can hear a lot of clicky sounds, from the many creatures make way for you... the floor is littered with large bones, and the smell reminds you of something rancid.

Prior to entering the cave Elkal asks Seanon to include him in the Shield of Faith, as long as it wouldn't mean depriving a follower of its effect.
"We should move carefully," he says after seeing the scene that greets them at their entrance. "Melee followers stay close. A downhill charge might be real effective if we get the chance. Javelin...ers, stay about 15' back from the melee followers. Nobody go around any corners until the Javeliners catch up. We don't want to be taken by surprise." He looks from one of his peers to another, "Hope I didn't just step on anyone's toes there. I trust you guys know how to organize yourselves. By the way, if one of you is better at charging in and another is more of a durable-type, I can swap your places on the battlefield after you charge and give you another opportunity. You move in formation a bit father in the cave, as the clicking soud gets louder and louder. Light limitates you vision, and you can only see the abnormally big spiders when they are almost upon you! some felt down from the ceeeling, other from the crevices behind you. There are large-sized and medium-sized spiders to be dealt with.

Xilef destroys one of the small spiders with a single blow. it was not difficult. The slope in the charge made it easier to rush in, but ahrder to stop at full (+1 on attack, -1 on AC!)
Yet they gang up on her and on the rest of your party, savage, hungry, and surprisingly evil
One of the spiders try to engulf xilef in webs. the other clsoe in to bite her

Uidon sees spiders crawling from crevices and dangling over head, his head jerking between the threats. "Maintain discipline." He says dodging between the ranks, trying to help secure the rear. His sword tangles in it's sheath spoiling his the blow.

Elkal chucks a fireball at the spiders at their back (G11-ish) so that the fire envelopes the spiders but barely avoids their followers.

Korin generates an AoO as he dashes close to a big spider, but then splits it in half shortly afterwards.

Elkal shoots a fireball, blasting away thousends of tiny spiders in flames. All the medium-sized spiders were seared to death, but the swarm managed to sens the danger and many little spiders survived.

The spider swarms rush to the heart of your formation and start engulfing all your followers, biting, distracting and poisoning them. What is worse, the other pieces of the swarm join in, making it a single, massive congregation of verming that is much more dangerous

The spiders don't fight like rational creatures and there Uidon had made a mistake. I must not make assumptions like this again, Uidon thinks to himself as he ponders the moment.
"Elkal, more fire." Uidon grunts, pointing at the Archer before he whips his swords through a carpet of small spiders. With a loud crack gobs of spiders shoot out of the swarm, some to sizzle and spatter against the smith's armor.

Seanon is still to busy defending himself from the tiny spiders (nauseated), but the verming mass is slowly torn apart by sonic damage from wepons and acid damage from armor. when elkal shoots flame at it, hundreds are burned down and the huge swarm starts to dissipate, still crawling arround to move out of your way but no longer attacking you like a coordinated mass.
Your followers turn their attention to the newlly arived spiders to take them down, but some of them are still getting spider off their skin (nauseated).

Elkal moves away from the spiders
Uidon attacks the swarm and inspires Elkal to cast a spell. that spell is enought to finally disperse the big swarm
Seanon is nauseated
Korin performs a dance of death and kills several spiders
Nova overkills a single large spider
Xilef starts attacking the swarm but despite her strenght and speed she is unable to deal any damage
the swarm attacks xilef and Korin, but then they are seared by flames and dissolved by acid. Korin seems surrounded by a colorfull blast of thousends of spiders burning away over his body. after this counter attack, the swarm is too weakened and diseprse as well

After this attack, the swarm takes damage for messing up with korin and is defeated.
The medium sized spiders lunch themselves at the followers and Elkal. the big spiders run for Korin, Xilef and Nova, climbing over the multilated corpses of their family members.

Fortunatetly, all the spiders missed their trown fangs. Unfortunatetly, MORE medium sized spiders come from the cracks in the cave to get your rear. Lucky, the lucky follower shout at you "We can hold them off! get the big ones!"
To the maddening clicking sound you've been hearing so far, from thousends of fangs and legs being dragged to the stone and rock, you hear some sound more of a tourtured moan. It is still insect-like, coming further back from the cave, and does not seem to bother or call the attention of the other spiders...

The confidence of the ex Slaves almost makes Uidon smile. "Lucky, secure the rear." Uidon calls before charging farther down the slope into the cave, knowing that the dream will guide his strike.
When the smith jabs his arm forward it again extends unnaturaly long with a strange grinding sound and a dull bronze glow again drips from Uidon's arm.

Xilef grew even more angry when the swarming spiders ignore her attacks by virtue of their size alone. Still she is glad to see them gone because of Korin action. She then concentrate her attack on the big spider next to her.
