Okay there are two ways to do trainer battles, there is the one where I show the pokemon and the xp, or the one where I don't. You can pick which style you prefer, however it will have no impact on gym leader battles, battles with May, or battles with Maxie/Archie.

On Route 118 and Route 119 I can find Zigzagoon, Linoone, Kecleon, Oddish, Tropius. You may suggest names and personalities for each.

In addition if I get a female Linoone but not a Zigzagoon, should I get a Zigzagoon egg.

For flying types specifically. I have Lady Robin the Pelipper (also water type), Mothra the Beautifly (Who doesn't learn fly, also Bug type) and Belle the Swablu (Also normal but evolves to Dragon/Flying)

In addition there is Gramps, Lily, Spike, Rose, Splenda, Squee, Sensai, Strongiron, Schoolgirl, and Poke-ball.

I vote for Swablu being trained up in his stead. I've never much liked any of the bugs, and Swablu vs Pelipper, Swablu gets you an extra relatively rare type (and can be traded out easily for Bagon eventually when you get to that point), and a bit better attack diversity.

It depends on the pokemon, For Swablu's lineage they are ruled in herds by Altaria. Every Altaria has a pack of Swablu. So when Belle returns home, she'll collect Swablu over time. In my lineage's case Ralts are very solitary creatures. They meet once a year for mating then the mother or the father carry the egg to hatch. Once it does the baby is on it's own. The fact that we are not born often with attacks, coupled by leaving the children alone, probably results in our rarity now that I think about it.
So you never knew your mother? That's so sad.
