    I am very envious :(
I got to see them live a couple of years ago in London and they were absolutely amazing. Wish they were Joining Us (see what I did there?) in England again.

Gareth Emery came to town on Saturday night. The show was a freaking blast, and they had a coloring contest for a meet and greet with him before his set. I didn't win, but how often do you get to say you went out to the club and got to color with crayons?

Hey, anyone listened to Death? The proto-punk band, not the death metal band? They're pretty amazing! Only ever recorded 7 songs, which were only properly released in 2009, after being recorded in 1975-ish

Wow, these guys are really good, just grabbing their album now. Thanks for introducing me to them

Is it just me or do a number of their songs sound, or have parts that sound, exactly like they could've been written by another, more famous, band. You're A Prisoner has decidedly Blue Oyster Cult sections, the first 2/3rd of Where Do We Go From Here could be taken straight from a White Stripes album, Keep on Knocking sounds a bit like Hendrix. Doesn't really mean anything, just found it interesting.

Actually, I was just sitting around when I remembered an article in a music magazine I have floating around where he mentions seeing this awesome 3-piece all-black group at CBGBs, or something of the sort.

I think my favorite song's Where Do We Go From Here, but the new one they put out yesterday is pretty great too. Also supposed to be a documentary coming out this year titled A Band Called Death.

Who else has been listening to the Gorillaz/James Murphy/Andre 3000 song? The release version was good, but the extended 13 minute version is damn fine.

I approve heartily. I had ridiculously high expectations, and while it sounded absolutely nothing like what I expected, it's still rather awesome. Especially the 13 minute version.

I found this gem recently. The song's cool but the crowd is OMG. If I had to play in front of a crowd that big then I would need to be at least halfway in the bag to mitigate the jitters, even if I was a seasoned performer (which I'm not).

I made my way to Asian Kung Fu Generation from Sambomaster via Naruto. That put me on a bit of a J-pop/J-rock kick.

I thought I'd take a moment here to discuss my own band's newest single, Time Traveler. Sort of a synth-rock sort of thing, pay what you want including nothing. Wondering what people think and figured the music thread would be better than taking up space with its own thread.

Saw this massive band called Mother Falcon today. Talking to one of the violinists after the show, he gave me a card with a QR code to this video, and I thought someone else might dig it as much as I do: Just to See Her Smile.

Seems not. The link pulls up the video for me, but trying to run it gets a 'uh..what? I don't know what kind of file you're trying to run' notice from my browser. This appears to be the normal Youtube.

So, assorted music geeks of the Playground, can I get your opinions? I'm considering going to the Warped tour when it stops by my city this year, because I like I Fight Dragons. However, I know absolutely *nothing* about any of the other acts slated to be on the tour, and as going to see one group out of 80-some acts on the tour seems a little bit silly..

http://vanswarpedtour.com/bands Take a look at the band list and let me know if any of those names are familiar to you, preferably for being good?

I see exactly zero bands in that lineup worth seeing.

Lift Your Skinny Fists and Slow Riot are fine and all but F♯ is the only GYBE album I bother to listen to anymore.
