Hello All! Some important news!

1) I'm looking to start another USB game about two weeks from now (approximately April 15th). The only catch this time is I would like to use actual people's names as roles (as it would fit thematically).

2) So without farther ado, if you would like to sign up as a role, please post here or in the game thread with the following:

I, [insert your GITP name], agree to let my name be used as a role for this game.

Please provide 1-3 abilities for your role as well. Please send this as a PM!!! Use the heading "USB Role" please.

3) Also please note that you can play but not have a role named after you or not play and have a role named after you.

Game thread will be posted soon and be up when mods approve it.

4) I am looking for a co-narrator! They would be in charge mostly of getting the fluff/updates on time. As we all know I'm notoriously bad at that. ^^ They would also help in sending out PM's.

Looking to start a continuous Dethy Thread.
6 players, I start as Narrator.
If the Mafia wins the first game, he becomes the narrator for the next.
If Cops win, Narrator chooses best (most logical, gave the most info) player, and HE becomes the Narrrator for the next game.
Continues until 50 pages. Speed run, you have 12 hrs. to send in the first scry, 12 hrs. during the first day to post it all, then 12 hrs. scry/death, etc.

Eh. Requires too much of your time. If RL invades even once, you're sure to miss a phase entirely, maybe two. If you work 8 hours and sleep 8 hours and you're in the wrong timezone, you'll miss half of the phases. Etc... You can try it if you want, but if you want real-time dethy where thinking time is at a premium, I'd recommend scheduled IRC sessions.

The problem with that is that sometimes people just up and leave without notice. Other times people drop in because they feel like playing a game because they haven't in over a year. The "active" community is perpetually in flux and I don't think enough people are going to check in and out to make keeping a list useful enough for the amount of work that would be involved in maintaining it.

Sometimes people can't post for a while, because they take a vacation or stuff, maybe there could be a list of those? With dates of return? So they could just leave a message here and when s/he's up for auto lynch the narrator checks the list to see if they'll be back soon?

Zeb's right. Banjo just disappeared, and I know I've played games with people that have played only once or twice while I've been around, but used to play a lot.

The general consensus seems to be that the continuous dethy I proposed was a bad idea, and given that I haven't gotten a reply from sapo on permissions, I can officially state that I am scrapping it.

Oh I really don't mind people using the standard rules (I don't even technically own any sort of copyright to them) in any way, but as I said I don't think it'll work.

The only problem was the fast deadlines, I think. But It wouldn't hurt to have a Dethy thread. We could certainly do with Dethy more often, and it seems a waste to male so many threads for such a small game.

It's not a waste. A post takes up the same amount of space whether it's in the middle of a thread or is the original post of a thread.
