The Angel Encarmine, after charging from above and finding his attack blocked, finds himself being savaged by the vicious creature, desperately parrying its horrible claws. He ducks the first claw, then furiously counters a second attack with the rending blade of his weapon, the Thirst beginning to take him.

First attack misses Ardelan, second is parried and counter-attack with RF (35 damage before Toughness and Armour). It already parried my charge, so probably won't parry this.

Third attack hits Ardelan, after Armour and Toughness, he takes 3 damage.

After his brutal counter-attack, Ardelan takes a slight gash, then grimaces and flashes his teeth, the slight points of fangs visible to any nearby. He can feel the fury running through him, his tainted blood driving him to savagery.

The scent of the carnage below only serves to amplify the bloodlust in his heart, and he grips his chainsword in both fists, swinging it with a most terrible, unnatural strength, a strength that only an enraged son of Sanguinius could have.

    Ivar

Ivar smirks in amusement as the Genestealer wanders past him, his Camo-cloak rendering him next to invisible in the dimly lit vent. Carefully, he shifts his rifle to his left hand, drawing his pistol with his right. He waits patiently and with practised stillness for the xeno to look the other way. The moment it does, distracted by the battle being waged by the other Astartes, he strikes.

His pistol flicks up at the unaware xeno. A single breath to check his aim, the laser sight painting an insignificant red dot on the creature's skull, and the trigger is pulled. His shot is practically silent, particularly in the din of battle. The detonation of the bolt shell, slightly less so.

"Brother, want some fire support?" he whispers over the vox to Ardelan, seeing the assault marine struggling with the Broodlord.

Ardelan suppresses the fury and bloodlust raging through him and responds to Ivar in a barely controlled, clipped tone into his microbead as he battles the monster without and the monster within,

"Negative, I have it under control, Brother, thank you."

As soon as he deactivates the comm-link, though, he growls with a bestial fury, audible throughout the chamber. The communication thankfully serves to help him concentrate, holding the Red Thirst at bay, beating it into a more useful form.

Conall stood tall amidst the mewling, hissing xenos and almost smiled. Such was his lot, his destiny, nay his privilege ... to be where the fighting was thickest and surrounded by foes on all sides. However, this was different than other engagements he had been in. For one, these aliens were a new foe, one he had read about but never faced. Second, he had brothers all around, plenty of fight left in them.

With a surge of his genetically enhanced musculature, Conall turned his attention to the two beasts that seemed unaffected by the death of the Magos. With a burst of speed, he swung his huge blade at the monster, then reversed the stroke for another swing in the opposite direction, finally spinning back around for a third strike.

    Ivar

The Genestealer down, if not dead, Ivar refocuses his attention on the larger battle. It may recover, but supporting his battle-brothers takes priority over making sure the xeno is down.

"Happy ta' oblige, Brother. For Russ and Sanguinius!" he voxes back with a grin. He weighs which weapon to employ. Yes, against an opponent as durable as the Broodlord, the terrible poisons of his rifle would be worth more than the added power of the bolt rounds. The pistol slides back into it's holster and he levels his rifle once more. The manoeuvre is an unthinking reflex by now. A single breath to steady his aim, then the pull of the trigger and the shot flies to it's mark. A slight alteration of his aim to avoid Ardelan is the only difference from the thousands of shots before it. His shots are lethal, and now, firing in aid of his brothers, he is determined this one shall be no different.

If Ivar fails to get the four degrees of success he needs for damage, he'll activate his Sons of Russ Demeanour, either adding the degrees of success he needs, or re-rolling the test if even that wouldn't be enough. Ardelan, leaving himself open to a vicious assault, is struck three times by the Broodlord. It gashes a hole in his chestplate, then tears a tendon in his left arm, causing it to fall limp, if only for an instant, by his side. This is quickly followed up by a savage strike to his torso, knocking the Assault Marine to the decking of the walkway.

Blood coats the walkway around the Angel Encarmine. He knows he alone is no match for this beast, his warrior pride ashamed to admit this, wisdom and humility allowing him to realise that an escape may be warranted.

Lying on his back, looking up at the monstrosity, he draws a flame pistol from his side, spraying hot promethium in its general direction, forcing it to stall its attack, and then he rolls to his left, off the walkway, allowing himself to fall but a couple of metres before activating his jump pack to launch himself to safety.

The last of the 2 stealers outside the room is torn apart by the Dark Angels, the hellfire round blowing its arm off in a shower of gore before the servo arm tears the vile creature's head clean off leaving it body twitching and dripping acidic ichor onto the ground.

Sadly for Conall his creatuer is too agile leaping within the reach of the claymore as it crawls and grapples the marine avoiding the blow that would have severed grox in half. Conall is forced back as the vile beast savages and tears at the ceramite plates of his armour...

Within seconds of landing its head snaps back, ichor pouring from a savage wound as a sniper round comes within mm of penetrating its brain.

Pausing only to give a baleful stare up at the Scout in his unssailable perch it dashes out of the wrecked doorway, out of Ivar's line of sight and hurtling int the suprised pair of Namaan and Makradon, still standing over the body of tow of its brood as it arrives in a beserk torrent of flesh and claws...

Having just assisted in slaying the last of the genestealers, Naaman notices the rushing broodlord just in time to doge one of its claws, the wicked talons on the beast's appendage leaving a scratch down the armour covering his right arm. Having come close to being killed, only just escaping by firing his jump pack whilst prone, Ardelan stands, his magnetic soles clamping him to one of the room's walls, at least five metres up.

He takes a breath, and notes where his brothers in arms are, speaking to them via his microbead.

Conall frowned at the call to arms. He knew his brothers needed him, and here he played around with this lesser opponent. The latest blow had ripped through his faceplate and dug deep into his face ... a blow that would have left a lesser man dead or crippled, but served only to anger the mighty Storm Warden even more.

Blood in his eyes, Conall redoubled his efforts to kill the remaining genestealer.

    Ivar

It's scared now, Ivar notes as the Broodlord manoeuvres itself out of his field of fire. Could just be trying to lure me into reach though. An appreciative grin spread across his face. Clever b*****d.

Could move to provide fire support. That's the obvious thing to do. But one Brother is as good as another, and Conall looks to be having some trouble. He could move to support himself, or free the Storm Warden to do the same. Weighing the benefits of his possible actions, the Wolf Scout comes to a decision.

Tactically, the decision is clear. And just as much so, as a Son of Russ.

He adjusts his aim, focusing on the genestealer grappling with Conall. The ritual repeats. A single breath to check his aim and then, in that perfect moment, he pulls the trigger.

The stealer dodging and clawing at Conall begins to climb the towering Storm Warden, the long claws tearing and twisting at the assualt marine's helm.
THe pressure on his head fades as there is a faint pop before the shock of a massive slug tears the beast apart as it blows off Conall onto the deckplating.

The plasma silo is now eerily empty save for precious pools of Astartes blood and the shattered and eviscerated remains of dozens of genstealers. The last few weaker ones without the guiding nature of the magos either dying on the floor or a couple creeping into tiny vents and vanishing reverting to their simple feral bestial nature.

Outside the door the Broodlord glances around at the collection of marines slowly gathering around him. Smashing the bolt pistol away from his avoids Namaan's fire and as the techmarine disengages the Devastator is left in a poor position all along up close and personal with one of the most efficient killing machines known to the galaxy...

Conall was surprised by the sudden release of pressure from his helmet, watching as the lifeless body slide off of him.

Hope ye' don't mind tha' assist there, Brother. Thought ya' might want ta' be taking on tha' big one instead." Conall snorted into the microbead. The old Wolf had most likely saved his life, so there was nothing but the comraderie of brothers in arms, and thankfulness for the assistance. "Nay," was the terse reply, but it was spoken with a complete lack of rancor.

At Ivar's call to arms, Conall nodded to himself, eyes finding the huge beast of a stealer that was currently attempting to slay another of his brothers. Cold rage filled the Storm Warden as he gauged the distance and almost smiled. Keying his mike, he issued his own call to arms.

On hearing the call to arms from Ivar and Conall, Ardelan's face takes on a more serene appearance, calming himself of the previous rage that had enveloped him. He exhales slowly, then elegantly leaps into combat, his chainsword giving a high-pitched roar as it swings at the Broodlord.

After charging, he swings his chainsword again and again, attempting to tear the Broodlord apart with its rending teeth. In spite of his injuries, his face is a mask of serenity, cool and concentrated on the bloodshed at hand.

In spite of the fact that Sanguinius had never fought the Tyranids during the Great Crusade, for some reason this act of teamwork brings flashes of inspiration to Ardelan's mind, visions of Sanguinius fighting alongside his brothers against the most vile of monsters. A slight smile plays across Ardelan's lips as he tears huge chunks from the Broodlord's carapace. Brother fighting alongside brother. This was how it should be.

The broodlord rolls out of the ways of the flames from Makradon freeing Namaan who responds in seconds, the hellfire bolt shattering and partially dissolving the left leg of the vile monster.

The slight stumble is to be its undoing as within seconds Brothers Conall and Ardelan are upon it in a flurry of chain and claymore. Even the freakish more than superhuman strength and speed of the xeno quail in the face of the fury of the twinned assault marines.

The claymore bites deeply even as the sheer bulk of the Storm Warden slams the beast backwards the blade savages the Broodlord slicing off flesh and arms and legs even as the chainblade whirring its deadly siren song is buried to its hilt in xeno flesh...

The broodlord twitches a few more times before the claymore swings down with devastating force severing the massive toothed head even as the chainblade tears apart the massive alien 8 chambered heart...
