Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
The Depths of the Ship
The two marines ghost about the silent tomb. Glancing down the crude pit made with the explosives where the bodies of the Hereteks still lie unomved and uncared for. Below the colossal power generator the Scout and the Librarian slowly move between the bodies of the traitorous skitarrii and the broken combat servitors.
Ardelan's ghost sight is troubled. His eyes blocked, a ripple of something warp related lingering in the area and leading towards the route that the few remaining skitarii had fled.
Ivar also detects the trail. A scrape of rust here, a slightly indented grating there and a faint smell of mechanicus ungents and incense. The paths winds through 3 corridors and drops 2 decks slowly sliding closer to the massive thick outer hull. The deck plating thick with slime and condensation from the temperature shear this close to the void.
Ivar pauses, a strange smell. A sharp taste in the air. A box of some kind perched in the corner of the corridor...
Engineering
The Adeptus looks at the Storm Warden. His mechanoid confidence slowly melting away as the pinnacle of biological geneotyping meets mechanoid perfection and the machine breaks.
The Adeptus bows low, a creaking from with mechandrites poised in the symbol of the Omnissah. "Astartes. How can I be of assistance?"Thanks to Emperor Ing for the nice Avatar

"Hmm... something here" Ivar mutters as he passes the strange box. He moves in for a closer look, giving it a good look before opeing it - no telling what the hereteks may have left behind. "Brother, what do ye make o' this?" he asks, waving Ardlan over, "There's a scent about it".

Depth of the Ship
The two marines pause, studying the small metallic object. The librarian running his psych senses over the area - a feeling of something blocking, or inhibiting psychic energy nearby. Close but not the small object that you are now looking at.
Ivar hunting around, sniffing, tasting, looking he can see behind the small box- some sort of magnetic seal is a small hatch. Maybe 3ft in diameter that is blocked by the strange and unmarked mag-seal.Thanks to Emperor Ing for the nice Avatar

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
As the servitor's approached, Conall watched with detachment. He did not have the same comfort level with machines that his brother did; they served a purpose, but when 'people' like this Adeptus became more metal than flesh ...
Glancing around, Conall looked to the figures that kept glancing at the Adeptus. Leaning forward to his brothers, he spoke quietly. "Heretek?"Life is ... life. As always bot/cut as necessary.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
In the engeering section with the hissing and crackling coils and generators a servitor appears and leads Makradon, Namaan and Conall to a large and strange looking piece of archaic machinery. The massive collection of switches and crackling valves towering some 3 stories tall with banks of monitors and cogitators around the base of it staffed by a horde of minor magos and servitors.
The servitor mutely points towards one of the pieces - presumably the one that Makradon spoke about. No-one appears to be speaking any lingua here - only strange clicking binary.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Naman begins to trudge forward, massive form smashing aside a few lesser servitors as he strides across the genatorium. Conall leaps skwyards on a plume of fire but lands a few metres behind the magos as the heretek begins to run.
THe figure in red scowls underneath the robes, mechandrites stiffening with anger and a quick chatter of binary activating dark and hidden subroutines of herteikal coding several of the servitors nearby. THe lobotimised machine creatures spun around - las cutters, blade tines and a cutting torcehs lashing out towards Conall as nail guns, flex welders and las sealers trip and flare and bombard Namaan...

The multiple blows of the servitors ripped through the side of the Storm Warden's armor in a shower of blood. Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
There is carnage as the servitors launch their attacks and the marines counter attack. The heavy bolter barks loudly as servitors are blown apart in bloocy metallic and fleshy chunks.
By Conall the pile of servitors that had buried him is thrown aside and from a mound of buzzing saws and power clippers the storm warden appears dripping blood but layaing about with the sacris claymore sending two of them toppling to the ground before it wedges in a thick skull cap. Even as thta happens the clipper and saws surge forward once more and the nail guns and arc welders spew more lightnings and sharp bits of metal.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
While his latest wounds were superficial at best, the combined weight of wounds had definitely taken their toll upon Conall. No normal mortal could have stood against soo much punishment, but these were no normal mortals - these were Astartes. And amongst the super-human Astartes, the Storm Wardens were known for their unbending resolve in the face of adversity.
So with torn body, broken bones, and internal bleeding, there was only one answer to Naaman's question. With blood splattered helmet, rent armor, and chin held high, Conall glanced once at his brother before focusing on the direction the heretek had run towards.
"Yes."
SpoilerOkay, three things.
First, spending a fate point for some healing - (1d10)[7]
Second, does the above qualify for a Stoic Demeanor check? And what does that do for Conall, mechanics-wise?
Third, DrK, did we get any healing between missions?Life is ... life. As always bot/cut as necessary.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Namaan and Conall race to the heavy door. The control panel blinking red runes to register its sealed nature. In the rest of the room other magos are scattering running for cover as loyal servitors begin the slow process of recovering the shattered remains of the fallen servitors.
Beyond the door you can hear nothing - the bulkhead an effective seal. In the room the air is full of the sharp smell of gunsmoke, blood and machine oil. Thanks to Emperor Ing for the nice Avatar
