Kol and Makradon
Distracted by the bolt shell tearing through his leg the enemy leader stumbles. Kol leaps forward, feinting the off balance man who stands no chance of parrying.
The force sword cleaves upwards under the man's chin tearing off most of the side of his helmet alongs with a good section of the man's face as he reels backwards spraying blood in a wide arc as ot gushes from his shattered face...

Kol and Makradon
Blood pouring from his ruined face, his left eye hacked clean off his face and his body wracked with fatigue and near death the man's determination digs in and he lunges forward, one last desperate attempt to take the marine down and then secure his own fame everlasting even in death...
The massive powerlongsword lunges forward towards Kol's face but with an effortless flick of the blood splattered sword Kol deflects it watching the half blind blood soaked figure stagger past.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Conall heard the las-gun fire behind him, but was focused on the foe in front of him. His eyes narrowed as the man in the exoskeleton stepped forward, now well withing reach. Triggering his jump pack, he crossed the distance quickly, his bolter swapped for the claymore in an instant.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Conall and Namaan
Damaged and scorched the dark angel barely notices the crippling injuries as he turns the heavy bolter on the massive force of guards opposing them. From the barrel of the heavy bolter the metal storm rounds create a literal hurricane of death that tears off arms, faces and rips apart delicate void fighter wings and shreds refuelling and power lines. As the firestorm halts, spent rounds scattering around his feet Namaan can see the bolt-shocked survivors of the security force scattering and racing the mechanics to the doorways on the far side, another 14 of their fellows lying twitching and bloodied on the hangar floor- only 23 of the 50 having survived contact with the marines.
Conall launches himself at the cargo loader with a vast flying kick and chop of the Claymore. Unable to dodge in the massive machine the hapless driver is unable to stop impact of the marines boot to his face that smashes the bridge of his nose leaving him stunned and confused before the massive claymore chops down in a huge swing severing both steel and flesh arm in an explosion of hyrdaulic fluid and blood. the cargo loader swings round and bounces across the floor before slamming into a nearby void fighter knocking the struts out from under it...
Spoiler
Very dead. As the unarmed attack stunned him- you would win the takedown roll-off.
The two marines survey the scene, hundreds of fleeing mechanics and crew jostling at the doorways trying to escape and the nearest cargo lifter still some 140m as it rolls forward stumbling towards you.
200m to your right - inwards on the ship- you can see commotion through massive glass windows of the control room, figures darting here and there and the arrival of a more reinforcements as hellgun and carapace armoured figures pour out on to the balcony 30m up to respond...
Spoiler
In the elevated control room some 200m to your right an elite security team has arrived. Its 20 guys with carapace/hellguns (like when you arrived) that count as a horde with a magnitude of 40. (+30 modifier)
Kol and Markadon
The armoured figure staggers about a bit more before slumping to his knees, an oath in low gothic disparaging the parentage of both Kol and Makradon. He drops the longsword and ejects the canister on the forearm mounted plasma gun as he pitches forward from exhaustion and the continuing blood loss.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Knowing that his brother would decide how best to rain death on their enemies, Conall moved to get closer, exchanging the mighty claymore for his bolter.
SpoilerIf possible, will make an initial run to cover (moving across as great a distance as possible before the guards are in a position to shoot). Once there, he'll move tactically, figuring that Naaman will find cover and provide support with the heavy bolter. I think that means I could jump 60m initially, then proceed in 20m hops, tactically. You tell me how it works out if I'm avoiding getting shot in the face (or elsewhere )Life is ... life. As always bot/cut as necessary.

Grabbing a wounded but not dead armsman from the ground, Makradon thrusts him towards the wounded officer. "Keep him alive, and you will stay alive too," his voice boomed. ++Sin of Pride Crew. This is the Deathwatch. We require a medic to the bridge immediately to treat an injured prisoner. This is of utmost priority.++
With his mutlitool, he disbaled the officer's armoured legs, keeping him from running.
SpoilerI'm assuming that someone will have survived with injuries that put them out fo the fight but leave them able to treat the captain's injuries.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Conall listened to the firefight as he moved forward, secure in the heavy sound of the bolter cleansing many of the guards in the control room. However, he was still many meters away from them, and the second lifter was moving closer.
Keeping a void fighter between himself and the elite guard, he leaned out to fire off a quick staccato of shots at the lumbering figure ... a dead man walking, and the traitor didn't even know it.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Conall and Namaan
The heavy bolter fire smashing through the windows isn't as effective as the previous bursts, dead bodies absorbing the fire and most of the enemy taking cover from the deadly fire. Still the fragments ripped through several more men and a handful of terrified flight control officers
Spoiler
4 more magnitude damage reducing horde to 20/40
Conall's hurried snap shot isn't as effective as the heavier cannon of his Dark Angel bretheren. The bolter shell punching through the armoured shell of the cargo lifter and tearing a massive chunk out of the hapless human driving it. Blood pooling and pouring from the lifter.
Spoiler
Does 7 wounds to the cargo lifter driver. He's got some left!
The Cargo lifter responds by skidding to a halt, tearing a wing off a nearby void fighter to use as a crude shield from the marines deadly onslaught of fire.
The remaining handful of men in the control room pop up, snapping off a couple of quick bursts at Conall and Namann

Conall grunted as the second lifter dropped. He had been ready to engage him in melee, but if a couple of bolter shells dropped the man that quickly, the blade would have made short work of him.
Sliding his bolter back, Conall rushed forward again, leaping and sprinting towards the control tower. As he closed the gap, he dropped down behind cover, confident the men in that room would be hard pressed to cover his advance.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Conall and Namaan
A 3rd burst from the heavy bolter ripped the heart out of the security force as the metal storm rounds reduced the command area to a welter of blood, razor sharp explsove fragments and ripped open bodies and consoles. The last 2 men trailing blood creeping on hands and legs out of the office away form the withering fire of the still smoking Dark Angel.
Conall, unobstructed was free to bound another 60m towards the command deck his massive armoured form clattering and denting void craft as he bounded forwards.
While gunfire still echoed from other parts of the ship the hangar bay was near deserted save the dripping of machine oil and crackling flames were the heavy bolter had set fires and the soft groan of wounded men in the command and control room and the shattered horde of guardsman. The last few of which were still fighting with ground crew to escape from doors on the far side, their shouts like soft music to Namaan and Conall's ears...
Spoiler
Horde broken as now down to 5/40 magnitude.
There are no other threats in the immediate vicinity of the hangar for you to worry about.

Conall continued his advance, focused on reaching the control room. Of course, with the amount of explosive bullets that Brother Naaman had just hurled at the heretics, there might not be much left to check.
SpoilerHeading to the control room, trying to find a way to do the following, in priority order: 1) Disable the launch bays to prevent escapes/further attacks; 2) Download or recover the ship's logs (if any are here); 3) Capture the ship's senior officers (not sure that any are here, and if they are whether they're alive); 4) Discover origins/allegiance of ship

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Conall & Namaan
Over the slow drip of blood and oil, the crackle of flames and the crunch of broken steel and glass Conall easily bounds up to the balcony getting a prime view of the control room that resembled a scene of carnage. Bodies, shattered consoles and shards of meat filled the space amidst smoke from burning computer terminals.
Looking around form the arrays of blinking red lights its very obvious that this launch bay has been put of comission though it should be straightforward to disable the unlocks on the cargo lifts, or seal the exterior bulkhead. Although this only accounted for 1 of the launch bays on the ship, the second being in the neghbouring cargo hold.
The ship's logs, if they were here were in a computer that has been shredded by the metal storm rounds and only a few fragments of arm and chest bearing 3 strange symbols of a senior rank can be found....

As the erstwhile medic tries to slink away, he draws Kol's attention once more, and the librarian casually cuts him down with his sword - the man had served his purpose, and had died a better death than he deserved.
Glancing down, he kicks their prisoner's blade into the air and then catches it in one hand - no need to take the risk of dulling his own blade on deck plating and cold metal.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Ivar
The Wolf scout observes his foes from above, contemplating his next action. A bit over a dozen guards and some sort of commander. Worth killing at any rate, even if capture fails to prove practical.
But first, his guards must be eliminated. He draws his Heavy Bolter, bracing himself against the vent wall as he takes aim at the heretics below. There are no battle cries, no invocations of the Emperor and Primarchs or the native gods of Fenris. After all, why waste the element of surprise.
SpoilerBluh. Sorry about the huge delay, I thought I'd already posted this.
Attacking the guards, full auto.
BS: (62 Base + 20 Full Auto + 10 Small Horde) 92 vs. (1d100)[8]
Damage: (1d10+14)[4](18), Pen 5
Initiative: (1d10+6)[10](16)
EDIT So that's a full six hits. I'd roll the damage for all of them, but I'm pretty sure that they don't have an AP+T greater than 18.Last edited by Tome; 2011-10-09 at 04:22 PM.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Naaman nods and joins Conall in the control booth, reloading his heavy bolter with standard rounds in an effort to minimize collateral damage. He follows Conall down the corridor leading to the adjoining control booth.

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Ivar
The solemn and hushed silence of the busy sensorium below is torn apart suddenly as the roar of the heavy bolter booms out and a 4ft tongue of fire tears through the grating. The bolter rounds lash into the guards standing by the door tearing half a dozen of them to pieces along with several scribes and adepts caught up in the long blast of heavy weapons fire.
The rest of the security team scattered seeking cover from their ferocious assailant. The officer shouting orders as some of the survivors moved down to protect him.
Most of the sensorium scribes seemed almost numb with shock, others having the presence of mind to start running towards the doors...
Spoiler
Command check (1d100)[28] TN 67
mini-Horde has 9/15 magnitude left
Ivar to go again as my guys initiative of (1d10+3)[11] can't beat him.
Conall and Namaan
As the pair of you head towards the main exit to the corridor crunching broken computer terminals, glass and bodies underfoot you're super human ears pick up the umistakable sound of voices and the sinister click of weapons being readied outside the door.
Namaan's keen vision just picks out a small monitor blown sideways off the armoured doors linked to the security camera on the other side of the door. The sight is alarmin. A small platoon of assualt troops, chainswords and heavy duty pistols at the ready supported by massive armoured sentinel, its armoured body and paired multi-lasers just fitting into the corridor. You can see the enemy officer, a skull surmounting his cloth red beret and a brontian style power longsword clenched in both hands standing in the midst of the troops directing a pair of them who appear to be placing a small package at strategic locations around the door.
Spoiler
Spoiler
Other side of the door has a platoon of troops Magnitude 40 (~30 or so guys) and a guy in a sentinel walker with paired multi-lasers. Plus an enemy officer!
You have ~5 rounds before they blow the door.
Kol and Makradon
The hapless man's body is sheared in two shortly before the librarian hefting the two-handed power weapon doles out the same treatmen to the controls of the lift shaft.
However you're prenatural senses and the techmarines sizeable auspex arrays do pick up a large body of troops approaching fast. At least 20+ strong you think you have maybe 20 seconds at most before they are upon you...
Spoiler
You've got 3 rounds before more bad guys arrive. Fight of flight up the transport tube... Please decide

Re: The Sin of Pride - Deathwatch
Naaman puts a hand on Conall's shoulder and then points at the monitor. He utters a single word: "Ambush?"
