Clarissa is scooped up extremely easily. She's a bit slippery, though, so Dave may lose his grip on her and accidentally drop her. She recoils a little as Dave comes into contact with her, obviously feeling a debilitating wave of agony shoot through her every pore.

Sad. How the mighty have fallen.

Dave carries her into their bedroom and tries to lay her on their bed.
"Clarissa, if you can hear me please pull through..."
He goes into the bathroom and grabs the bottle of morphine-in-a-pill.
He comes back into the bedroom with them.

Anele looked up at Meddy!
"Meow!"

She giggles and pets her with her left aft hand.
You're so cute like that.

Clarissa isn't going to die. If she were going to die, she'd have perished in that hexed alleyway battling that Necron.

She didn't. All Clarissa is in dire need of immediately is time to regenerate herself and for this unbearable pain to wash away.

Clarissa is set upon the bed! When Dave returns, he'll find Clarissa attempting to drag her beaten body underneath the sheets. She is miserably failing, as is expected of one in her absolutely terrible condition.

Dave puts the bottle on the nightstand and goes over to help Clarissa under the sheets. He'll sit there with her forever, trying to lightly rest his hand on her to let her know that he was there.
And since he hasn't gotten any curtains, he doesn't fall asleep.

Anele purrs at getting pets! She tries to rub against Meddy!
"Food please!"

Meddy serves up some lovely bacon, petting her more.

Dave might note that Clarissa's body temperature is steadily rising over time. She starts off freezing cold, but after about three hours, she'll probably scald Dave if he tries to continue to touch her without first placing a fine insulator over his hands. Oven mitts might work. Clarissa's form spasms every so often without warning. At other points, she merely gurgles incoherently, clearly suffering through the onslaughts of a armies of PAIN!.

I'm fairly certain that one could bring a kettle of tea to boil just by holding it over Clarissa for a few minutes by now.

Dave endures the heat! He has an ancient ninja trick!

Anele begins to eat the bacon like a dog does!
It might be good to mention that she's nude. There was no time to grab clothes!

She tries to get Anele to sit up at the table and put on a robe.

Dave might want to chuck Clarissa into the fireplace. She might light the house on fire if she continues to grow hotter at this rate, as evidenced by one of the sheets surrounding her abruptly going up in flames.

Dave places Clarissa into the fireplace and then pulls the hose from under his sink into the living room and tries to spray Clarissa with the cold water!

Clarissa begins to squirm frantically as she is sprayed with cold water. She starts to blurble in panic! This is not good! She shouldn't have returned here! Dave is stealing away her of warmth!

Dave stops the spraying and thinks about it. He ninjally starts a bath, not giving Clarrisa more than half a second to disappear. He makes sure it's nice and hot and soapy.
He'll then pick up Clarissa and bring her into the bathroom and then try to lower her into the hot bath.

Anele sighs happily when she finishes her meal.
"Since we're getting married I was thinking...perhaps we should think about children?"

She shrugs.

Clarissa violently "kicks" and squirms as Dave scoops her up, obviously not wanting to be touched at the moment. She is in great pain, you know, and Dave did just hose her down. She is also partially delusional. That's always a "fun" state of mind to be in.

When Clarissa is so "kindly" tossed into the tub of hot water, the water might begin to rise up in a billow of steam. Clarissa, who would be screaming at this very moment were she able to do so, paddles around in the hot water, furiously attempting to scale the sides and abscond before something bad happens.

Water causes hypothermia if a person remains immersed in it for too long...

He'll try to take her out of the bath and put her back into the fireplace.

"I guess I should try to remind you more often, then," she says in a soft voice, reaching to take Mike's hand and squeeze it.

Don't think that would hurt.
Mike squeezes Aeryn's hand in return, and draws closer to her.

What better not just try to murder Tom nonchalantly one of these days without warning. That would make Percilia angry! What wouldn't like Percilia when she is angry!

To be honest, What is a very scary fellow, almost as scary as the Joker. He needs some sort of catchphrase, though. Maybe stab-stab-stabbity-stab would work...

Anywho!

"Let's go take a nap before I show you anything. The adrenaline from our fun, little flight is wearing off and I'm tired."

Percilia yawns and attempts to wrap her arms around Tom once again.

"So, you were able to carry that foodstuff upstairs without dropping anything important. Wanna try for something larger?"

I'm not so sure a catchphrase would work too well for What, or that he'd be all that unhappy with the opportunity to slay a vengeful Percilia, either. He's a bit of a big nasty jerk like that.

"I'd love to."

Anyways, back in reality, Tom's more than happy to lift Percilia's legs up and carry her back upstairs in his arms. It might not quite make up for all the unmanly flailing about and panicking and nonsense earlier, but hey, at least it's a start, right?

He stays tense a moment longer, then lets himself relax. Lets himself feel her against him. He was a proud man, and used to always being dressed impeccably. Walking home in that ridiculous costume had almost been as hard for him as walking home nude would have been. But does that really matter when he has a beautiful woman in his home?

He turns around and brushes the back of his fingers along her face, before tipping up her chin and leaning in to kiss her deeply.

Vasquez starts a bit at the touch, a bit surprised by him being the one in control of the situation for once, but relaxes nearly instantly, moving close and melting against him, eyes closed, after the kiss. A small part of her mind chastises her for being like this around someone like him. A civvie. She pays it no heed however, and lets her worries slip away, being held in his arms.

"Well, Shrike told me some, but I hadn't realized it was that quick." Tina gives an awkward chuckle."I sorta wish it were that easy."

"Zamira and I were lucky." Shrike gives her Lunar Mate a smile, before looking back to Fettina. "It doesn't always work out so well. Imagine if you discovered the person you were eternally bound to, feeling their very thoughts and emotions, was a monster out to destroy the world, a servant of even worse monsters, but still had the same soul as the lover you were closer than close with in your last life?"

He pulls back enough to look into her eyes. "Turn around," he tells her. And once she does, he unzips her dress and sweeps her off behind the curtain.

At 6:15 in the morning, Vasquez wakes slowly. For the first time since joining the military, she's slept in. Only by fifteen minutes, but that was something that might as well have never happened to her. Looking over the sleeping man next to her, she smiles and decides that it's a wonderful thing.

She had to start her triple-shift in a little under two hours, but she could afford to take a little more time to herself this morning.

"Heck, the Exaltation doesn't even need to have been corrupted. No Exaltation filters morality- a Solar Exalted can be a monster quite easily. Just look at Desus.

Not exclusive to Solar Exalted, sure, but still..."

And then there's the Great Curse, but Zamira doesn't know about that... and Shrike's immune now anyway.

It's never going to last, Jakey boy. It was the usual dream. Nothing but darkness, and the voice, taunting him. He never saw Gus's face, because he didn't know what his other self looked like. He only knew they looked different because they needed separate clothing.

It will. I won't let you ruin this. Jake answers.

Maybe it won't be me who spoils it. Maybe it will be you. Face it, she's way out of your league.

I'm not the one who left scrapes all over her back. Jake says, angrily. After they'd made love the first time, he'd taken the time to clean her wounds and carefully remove all the embedded bits of dirt and masonry, trying to suppress his rage at his other half for hurting her. Why did you do it, Gus? Why did you kiss her so rough and then run? What are you afraid of?

But there was no answer. There never was when he asked questions. That's how he knew he wasn't really communicating with Gus in these dreams. Their minds remained just as separate in sleep.

Sometime later, he opened his eyes to see the sun streaming in across her dark skin. "Good morning, my beautiful Vasquez." he murmured, and pulled her closer. "I like having bonus time with you."
