"Well then, have a nice day, and remember, you can get a vacation cheaper here than anywhere else! Next week we're having a half off sale on nostalgia! Be sure to see us for your psychiatric needs, five minutes and a small down payment and you can diagnose yourself!" He continues shouting out pitches as he walks behind the machine and out of sight, at which point his voice cuts out sharply.

The kid has vanished behind the machine which has started to slowly rise back into the ceiling, the apparently comatose little girl is nowhere to be found, and Waldorf has already begun his rounds to find their next customer. But yes, if she opens the case she'll find a subjectively large amount of money. It's about equal to what she would have gotten if she worked for minimum wage for those forty years rather than learned magic and science.

"Awakening?" Xalicus wasn't quite sure. It could lead to the cat being a better companion, but on the other hand, it sounded like it just might lead to a rebellion by intelligent creations that would end up dividing a whole continent into six factions, each with their own goals and ideals, in a conflict that could only be resolved by one person who had magic infused into their genes. In the unlikely event that this did happen, he'd probably go down in history as the one responsible for the downfall of civilization as the people of the Nexus knew it, and would probably also be dead, which wasn't a pleasant prospect.

After some careful thought, he decided that something so disastrous wasn't that likely to happen as a result of this. "...All right, that would be nice." He searched in his satchel and found some decent gemstones that would probably be enough for the initial payment. "The name's Xalicus Laffingstock, with an X in the first name and a double F in the surname."

Zombie A-Taco-Lypse

A neon green "Now Open" sign hangs over the scientifically themed taco kiosk, a second, smaller sign below that one declaring "Opening Day Sale; all smoothies 50% off!"

Zombies dressed in neat little waiter uniforms splattered with fake blood mill about, delivering tacos, deep fried pizza and other such deep fried delicacies to the waiting customers, they're undead shuffling matched to the beat of RE: Your Brains, which booms from the nearby speakers, along with other zombie-and-apocalypse themed tunes.

Inside the kiosk, amids bizarre cooking contraption and fractal patterns woven from tesla coils, Strahd, mad culinary scientist at large, sits in a comfy armchair, boots resting on the counter as he shouts orders to his new legion of zombiefied fast food slaves from the comfort of his throne. Just as he always suspected, it's good to be in charge, instead of taking orders from some braindead, stuffed shirt, fat cat boss.
