I must say they certainly pulled out the stops for this. There're plenty of genuinely funny moments and wackiness thrown in.

Flutterb**** is so going to be a meme now. Even more than Slaughtershy.

I was a little disappointed at the way DisQord let the mane six hit him with the Elements, though I suppose one could chalk that to overconfidence. I was hoping for some half-hearted fight scene at the very least with his exploding chocolate milk of this.

Chaosville is my new Ponyville. Seeing the Carousel floating upside down was gold.

I was kinda surprised at how Rainbow Dash was portrayed in here. I would have thought they would find her in Cloudsdale rather than near her home. Then again, to paraphrase Applejack, "Same way he made you think that three ton stone was a diamond."

Balloon chase scene was awesome. So. Awesome.

Unrelated, there appear to be two full pages of fan art for Screwball on Ponibooru already. Less than 24 hours since her first appearance, which was for a duration comparable to Vinyl's. Including one implying shipping her with Derpy. And a humanized version. Yep, I think we've got our first breakout background pony of season 2.

I'd be more impressed if I wasn't so very unsuprised.

I liked that. It was an extreme example of loyalty being only as good as its object. If she was actually helping to keep Cloudsdale together than she would have still been loyal to a worthy cause, just not a cause as worthy as, y'know, saving the world.

100x100 pixels if I remember right. There's free programs to resize an image.

Irfanview is good, (Menubar->Image->Resize/Resample) if your current image editor/viewer doesn't do resizing. Everypony has a different favorite image viewer so if you don't like that one, there will probably be a lot of other suggestions here shortly.

According to the Bronycon Q&A, Lauren basically wrote Discord as Q from the get go, and were going to use a sound-alike. They decided to spring for the real guy. So the request came from the MLP side of production

After watching the first two season 2 episodes, I got the feeling a bunch of the scenes for season 2 were tweaked to give the fanbase even more interesting content to work with.

Maybe, although I think the episodes were pretty much in the can before S1 even aired, since they were part of the S1 production schedule. Hence the remastered theme song that won't appear until episode 3.

And Jayson claims they don't intentionally add stuff for bronies, all the stuff we pick up on are just things the writing crew and artists find amusing themselves

One of the design goals was to try to make it fairly modular so it could be simplified easily for other art styles. I can't suggest names without a personality/backstory summary.

Yeah, this is my problem: I only have some vague ideas to that effect. I suppose it's time to get thinking...

It did, however, give me an amusing thought, whereby some entity kidnaps our dear sun goddess and replaces her with a clone (so as to rule from the shadows). Trouble, is they suck at it. Twilight and co are called in by a bemused Luna to find a pink Celestia, who keeps saying things like "I have pretty wings!" and generally being the Worst Clone Ever. It is fooling nopony (except perhaps, for comedic value, Prince Blueblood). Luna has to hold down the fort, dealing with an equally exasperated court as Pinkestia continues to follow her creator's "plans." Meanwhile Twilight and co have to search and rescue the real Princess, and find out what kind of idiot savant is capable of foalnapping and cloning a goddess, while simultaneously being the Worst Villain Ever. Hilarity ensues...

This idea is SO GOOD I'm totally stealing it. You'll get a fic the moment I have spare time (months away)

I was gonna demand someone take this idea, but Thanqol already took care of it. I can rest easy now, because that fic has to be made.

What Thiessen actually said was more along the lines of Hasbro not being willing to sink resources into planning and producing higher-quality show-accurate toys without a certainty on a return on their investment. Thiessen's solution was to make it so that Hasbro can't ignore us by converting more bronies.

They had originally intended to cast someone for the part who could sound like him, but along the way, somepony came up with the idea of just getting the actual Q to play Discord, and Hasbro agreed.

Unfortunately, getting celebrity voices like this can be pretty expensive, so it won't happen often.

So yeah, it was the pony crew that asked John de Lancie to play the part; John de Lancie knew nothing about the series before he played Discord.

I can understand the difficulty, the toys were probably already in production before the show started, plus there's the issue of an entire warehouse (at least) full of prepackaged toys already made, plus factories with manufacturing lines already established, plus an established market (I believe the toys were in constant production even while the show was not running)

Vs. the potential market of the current bronys, while enthusiastic, in no way compares to the market of 5-12 girls in the countries the toys are being sold in.


HOWEVER, and I've seen this suggestion on some of the Youtube comments, if you want to show support for the show, (since Hasbro makes more on the toys than they do on the show) you can buy some and donate them to a local children's hospital. (Like Child's Play does with games and toys) Those places are always looking for toys, I bet.
