    Ah. How unfortunate. The Eladrin Guard looks up at you, Juniper, seemingly looking past Bast as if she's not even there. A deadened look in his eyes. He picks up his sword, and uses Fey Step, teleporting to A9. He swings his sword at you, ablaze in flame (will roll next post).

    Basically, every time you level up, you may swap 1 feat, power OR* skill for any other feat, power or skill, respectively. It's on page 28 in the PHB.

    *I would have written XOR here if it wasn't for the fact that not everyone knows the logical operations, and for the fact that it wouldn't be correct anyway.

    You go to strike the Guard Drake, but for some reason it's focus seems to be were you were, and not were you are now. Your falchion tears through the Drake, finishing it off. A soft glow drifts from the wound you cut.

    Bast is forgoing the flank bonus by not attacking the Drake, since Elden'll probably kill the Eladrin if I don't knock him out first.

    Ok MoonCat, another thing of note. The first attack DOES drop him. However, if you follow through with the secondary attack and the power attack, you're attacks are going to do enough damage to strait up kill him completely. I'm going to assume you do not wish to do this, and instead you just knock him out.

    Bast swings her broadsword in a wide arc, clobbering the Eladrin on the back of the head. He falls with a groan.

    You'd be correct in that it is difficult terrain. Also, at this proximity, you can sense something about the meats on the table.

    You can determine that other then a minor enchantment on Kalindale's longsword, to make all his attacks deal fire damage, there is nothing magical.

    As for the wound Carric inflicted, you're sure that it is shadow powered. The attack itself does involve draining a bit of their life energy, allowing him to do that shift after the attack and weakening the target, but it doesn't seem evil to you. You're still not sure why Carric can tap into these powers, though, but you'd guess he came into contact with something from the Shadowfell, the realm of darkness.

    I will mention again, juuust incase it was missed, that the meat here seems the same tainted meat that the scouting party had.

    Anyway, your enemies are all unarmed and still unconcious, you've got some rope left, and there is a door to your right. Also a door at the bottom of the room, but you know that is the traped door from before.

    You can tell, though you aren't 100% sure, that the Eladrin was under the effects of the tainted infernal drake meat. Your guess is that once he started to doubt his actions, the effects of the meat kicked in and turned him into a near mechanical slave.

    Ok, the Eladrin Guard is tied up. I will note that you have enough rope to tie up two more people. I will ALSO note, however, that there are those chains and shackles downstairs, and Bast may be able to make some sort of binding out of them for the remaining two prisoners, with a good enough thievery check.

    You think you know how to purify him, but it will be a little risky. It involves enveloping him with your flames and basically sweating the magic out of him. It would require another Religion check, but with a +2 bonus. You're fairly confident that it'll work though.

    It seems this is it for him. I'm either going to be the one to save him, or the one to exact his punishment, and only fate can tell the outcome.

    Elden raises his staff in both hands, and the flames flare up to a bright white glow with hints of green. He closes his eyes and strikes the ground between him and the eladrin with the lower tip of Staff, spreading the flames our in a circle, covering both him and the prisoner with blistering hot fire. In the bright veil of the flames, a lush and verdant landscape with a great forest surrounded by fields and mountans can be seen, but behind it, vague shapes can be discerned from time to time as Elden carefully manipulates the fire to burn where he need it to.

    After a minute, the flames settle once again, and Elden stand up, watching the eladrin lying motionlessly on a thick patch of perfectly white lichen, surrounded by peculiar ferns with black-tipped leaves.

    It's done.

    Religion check: (1d20+11)[28]
    Yes, that was a very melodramatic way to describe a single Religion check.

    Also, I really need to look up about a dozen or synonyms to "fire" and "flame" for the next time I'm going to describe everything Elden does in this detail. It quickly become a bit repetive when I only have two words to work with.

    He's alive, and the taint is gone from his body. He has a lot to answer for, though.

    Elden takes out the piece of cloth he once used to hide his powers with, and use it to blindfold the eladrin. He then turns over to Kalindale, and with his dagger, he cuts loose a ribbon from Kalindales clothes to blindfold him too.

    Also, worth mentioning is that Elden is immune to damage from his own fire, no matter how hot he makes it, but it's physically taxing on him to flare it up like that. He's quite fatigued right now.

    Technicaly, only the Eladrin has actually been tied up with rope. Kalindale and the three Tieflings are still free. You have enough rope for two more people, and you figure you could use the chains downstairs for the last two, with one chain and shackle combo left over.
