Jacques flashes back his own "I know something you don't" look and pulls the trigger on the revolver, spitting forth a single bullet (retconned to be a normal bullet, of course) with near-perfect accuracy.

It may also be worth noting that Jacques sprayed himself, his guns, and his bullets down with Antimagic Spray. Granted, the stuff isn't inpenetrable, and is in fact very low in quality, but it should dull the edge of whatever's being thrown at it or him.

"Wishes? Or just the one?" He asks, wanting to clarify before he asks anything. He had a wish in mind, but if there were more than one, he might take advantage of it.

"Only one of you won so yes. You only get one wish." Libra declares, suddenly floating in the air as if she had been laying on a couch.

"No, we have not. That is not a tale currently residing in the Wikipede's memory banks." The Encyclopede shakes its head, though since it lacks a neck the first twenty or so body segments move.

"Man, that was back in the day. Where everyone knew everyone else, time machines were accepted and Fennacs talked. So did books actually, and that's where I first heard of the deal. In exchange for info, we go steal two orbs, and give one to the book. We weren't supposed to destroy anything though and I think more than a few people got pissed cause we ended up destroying the entire town by accident instead. Wasn't my fault though, I swear!"

The Encyclopede is busy scribbling the information down on two separate pads, typing it up on an Alphasmart and has procured a recording device to listen to Reinholdt's words.

"So yeah. It turns out that fortress was the only thing stopping an elf invasion by my understanding. It... didn't turn out well at all."

Encyclopede's minds work differently to those of humans, and it doesn't really need to do any of them- the Encyclopede is sending the information to the Wikipede through the mental link and the Wikipede is storing it digitally in addition to the hard copies the Encyclopede's making.

"Do you know where it is now? We would like to examine either of the orbs quite closely."

"Mmm... no, I'm afraid not, or I'd probably be stealing it back again. The Nightheart was given to the book guy as part of the deal, so I don't know where that one is either." Reinholdt explains.

"Could you perhaps describe the 'book guy' and where you found him, if you can remember? Perhaps we could track them down." Though I don't know if the player involved is still here. Or is it the book that made Butler a superhero?

Kaela's book was different. I believe he was Lore, who I think became Crae, a retired Kid Kris character.
"Well, when I say book guy, I just mean that he made words appear in books in order to communicate with us." Reinholdt describes him though anyways.

Libra peers at Edijar and her normally vacant expression turns into a frown. "Wishes you say? I could grant you that... but I'm not sure you would want it." She states, "If I can't entertain myself with wishes to people, I might find outlets elsewhere if you get my point?" The oni suddenly smiles, her tone turning darker.

Alright, time for that wish. We need to be quick about this. Kirk mentally says to Libra. With any luck, Feia won't be watching. I need you to make me mortal. That means no ties to the Abyss or my summoner, and a proper physical body of my own. One that matches my form right now.

Okay! And by matches you mean exactly the same or what?

"Yes, exactly the same except I'm a mortal instead of a demon." Kirk confirms.

"And what would you suggest?" He asks, eyebrow raised.

"Fine, now you're a mortal with everything that comes with it." Libra waves her hand at Kirk and the exact effect is determined by his player.

The oni smiles at that question, "Haven't you heard me talking the last hour? I'm stupid, brain dead, duuuuh." She hangs out her tounge at the side of her mouth and points at her head, making a face at Edijar.

"All I would suggest would be like, turning you into a dragon, or make your girlfriend turn into a dragon as well so you could **** without feeling bad about it. Or turn you girlfriend into your deepest fantasy. I have seen both." She suggests.

"Of course, if I had been smarter I might suggest something else like that that I would never harm another being ever again. Or something like that. How should I know?"

There's no visible change when Kirk's wish is granted, but it did work. He's mortal again and his ties to Feia have been severed. Thank goodness.

Quinn disappears the instant the bullet makes contact. In a puff of smoke, too.

Jacques might find a sword resting next to his throat.

"Actually, I lied when I said that was your las chance. This is."

There is a tall elf dressed in green pants and a green shirt with an ornate longsword and Quinn's face behind him. His hair is shoulder-length instead of hip-length now, though.

"I have a better wish. I wish that you aren't able to use your supernatural powers on people or animals at all." He says with a slight smile.

Jacques cranes his neck around to look at the other Mercenary, with a lightly worried look on his face.

"Why don't we talk this out?"

It might be worth noting that Jacques is simultaneously and subtly aiming his gun at Quinn's head from the hip, hoping that he can distract the pixie long enough to get it into place. He'll quickly duck and fire if he gets that far without being slashed.

The oni chuckles and then smirks. "Sure, it's done. Anything else? Like an amulet? Hmmm?" Libra peers curiously at Edijar.

Jacques cranes his neck around to look at the other Mercenary, with a lightly worried look on his face.

"Why don't we talk this out?"

It might be worth noting that Jacques is simultaneously and subtly aiming his gun at Quinn's head from the hip, hoping that he can distract the pixie long enough to get it into place. He'll quickly duck and fire if he gets that far without being slashed.

At this point, Quinn is fully an elf, not a faerie anymore. He simply smiles.

"Sure."

Then, Jacques is attacked psionically. He hears in his mind,

"You will holster your weapon. Now."

Unless he is experienced with fighting psionics, he feels like if he doesn't holster his gun, he will suffer and be sad for eternity, then die.

"I'm human of course, what kind of stupid question is that? Hmph. Why are you even asking?" Libra replies.

"Very well. Where do you want to go?" The Encyclopede tilts its head to one side slightly in a manner intended to express curiosity. I'm not sure if it works.
