Are you kidding? Being on fire is great! It's as if burning hands was a seventh level spell! He could hug you for 3d4 per turn, Xiander. Per turn.

Not unless he made his will save against fear he couldn't ;)

And I do owe a rather substantial tax myself...

It can however just grapple them with its mouth right? Also I believe they were diminutive right? Would that shark count as large? If all of the above are true I think the shark wins.

But it clearly states that swarms cannot be grappled (or tripped, but that's neither here nor there).

Grapple individual targets within the swarm. That's three dead fish a round most likely. That is unless the whole swarm gets to work together on the grapple each fish counting as an extra grappler... Come to think about it are any of the participants awakened?

Swarms cannot grapple nor be grappled. Also, for the picking off individual fish… if they're diminutive, there are 5,000 of them, and if they are fine, 10,000. Picking off two or three a round doesn't help when they automatically do damage each turn you're in their squares. Also, think of the AC for a single fish. Diminutive, with fairly high dex… yeah, the shark is gonna have a hard time hitting ANY of them, while they give the shark a Death of a Thousand Cuts™.

You can't grapple a swarm. If you want to consider each fish a separate creature so you can grapple them, then they get to be separate creatures and all Aid Another one of their own for +19,998 on the opposed check. Can't have your dire cake and be eaten by it too.

From this, we can conclude that there are no baleen whales (which eat krill and other plankton) in D&D Land.

Unless they can survive by scavenging the bodies of all the catgirls that just got killed.

Don't the rules also state that if you're 2 or 3 sizes (I forget which) bigger than your opponent you automatically win the grapple with no check?

Well, whales may still be able to survive, as I can't find any shrimp/krill/sardine/baitfish swarms. Closest I can find stated up is jellyfish and piranha swarms. However, as soon as someone stats them up, whales will go extinct…

For those who don't know her, the woman on picture is called Bayonetta, from the game of the same name. She is a witch, fighting angels and this is a game that somebody described as(loosely paraphrased), "reminds me most of having a diner with shrimps in chocolate sauce, combined with primroses, served on a plate made of fine china with kamasutra motifs, in a company of a most sexy and mysterious sadomazohistic woman, in a ballon flying over Pacific Ocean, while the world burns around us because of atomic bombs, shot out of trunks of angry elephants, listening to this song."

Yes, it's as crazy as it sounds. It's also totally awesome!
