They apparently rename everything to generic terms. When the name is a reference to something specific, it gets changed.

Heh. For the longest time, I thought "The Wesley" was named after the Buffy/Angel character. So, it might really be a lot clearer this way.

That's why it's only possibly suicidal. Retardant doesn't necessarily mean it will hold out forever, not to mention that all that fire seemed to have overheated his brain for a few moments there...
But then again this is Dan McNinja. The fire might be an indefinite non threat due to the sheer force of his moustache.Last edited by Geigan; 2011-12-31 at 11:21 PM.

A man who dies fighting with his principles intact dies in glory. To expect enemies to follow the same code of honor defiles that honor, reducing it to a set of arbitrary rules.

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode V: The Demotivator Strikes Back
So how many dots is appropriate before it stops being an ellipsis and starts being the textual representation of "talking...really...slowly...with...long...pauses. ..in...between...the...words..."?

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode V: The Demotivator Strikes Back
Smilies aren't a rule of grammar either, but I don't think I've ever seen an ellipsis ever used to skip words or letters outside of a school paper or a quote box. On the internet, it almost always indicates a pause without breaking up a sentence.

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode V: The Demotivator Strikes Back
1. Words could be filled in the ... spots that would otherwise be censored on this forum.
2. In novels, when someone is speaking and they speak slowly, it is sometimes characterized with either ellipsises or... or... I think my English isn't advanced enough to explain it in it.
My point here being that even the speech of a character who sucks at spelling is generally spelling-correct unless it is to denote an accent.
If you want, I can go back to my post and edit all the periods to random non-alphanumerical non-punctuational signs.Last edited by Morph Bark; 2012-01-06 at 08:08 PM.

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode V: The Demotivator Strikes Back
Just adding to the consesus: Ellipses officially are used to indicate omission of words while keeping original meaning. However, online and in dialogue they are often inteded to suggest that the speaker is trailing off for some reason, normally from losing their train of thought or some similar interuption, before they then continue.
