With very little fiddling with his tools and the lock, Gneiss pops the lock with barely a sound. Tygerlilly flips her hair around and whispers to him that she could have done that. She's great with locks. Maritta is eyeing the way they came, feeling nervous about this whole thing.

Tygerlilly promptly quiets down, she's very curious now as to what is behind the door and she peeks in with Gneiss. He spots 7 hobgoblin guards, most of them have swords, but one doesn't and he's bigger than the rest (he's sitting on a bench 40ft from the door). Tygerlilly nudges Gneiss and looks at him with wide eyes, she really really wants to say something, but he might thump her if she did.

Gneiss gestures Tygerlilly back and edges away from the door himself just as fast as he can silently ease the door shut. Returning to Pearl, he whispers, "Seven hobs in there. Think we might use some of this stuff to barricade the side door while we deal with the ones in front?" He gestures at the broken furniture strewn around the room.

Tygerlilly helps to wedge the side door shut, anything to have a bit of fun, it's so gloomy and dark in this place.

The door looks wedged shut and it doesn't move when someone tries to open it. It may hold them back for a short while.

Maritta goes to the back of the room since she isn't expected to fight, Gilthanas and Hector are in front of her to defend her and the others are gathered near the door, ready when Gneiss pops it open, ready to rush into the fight.

This room is nearly empty of furniture. There are wooden benches here and there, and a few small tables hold trays of dirty dishes and empty cups. The door on the left is closed and barred by a sturdy iron rod that would be easily removed from within this room.

Gneiss is the first one in, he ducks to the right. There is a door about 80 feet away on the right side.

Pearl is a bit louder and gathers the most attention as she rushes into the room. She attacks the closest hobgoblin and drops it before he can get off the bench.

Kalrin jumps into the room and he moves to the right and behind Gneiss.

Lagri waits just outside the door for anyone trying to get out.

Tygerlilly is quick on her feet and she pounces through the doorway and throws a knife on the way. Her dagger flies true and is buried in one of the hobgoblin's faces as he turns toward the noise.

Hector, Bryce, Eben and Gilthanas have weapons drawn and they come through the door, moving toward the enemy so that others can come through.

The hobgoblins are just beginning to react, looking up and starting to come to their feet. A larger hobgoblin is sitting in the back.

Maritta is in a back corner of the previous room, waiting to see the outcome.

Kalrin waits near the door, waiting for an enemy to try and escape past them.

Pearl yanks her sword free and charges the next target. She just misses him as her sword skitters off his armor.

Gneiss charges the enemy leader and just misses.

Lagri joins the fray, rushing another hobgoblin and easily dispatches his enemy.

Hector, Bryce, Eben and Gilthanas engage the remaining enemy. Hector comes to Pearl's aid and takes out that hobgoblin. Bryce and Eben take on one between them and take him out. Gilthanas takes on one of the remaining hobgoblin minions and engages in combat.

Tygerlilly looks around at the busy scene. She spots Gneiss up at the far end and dodges around a table leg to get a clear shot and fires off a dagger. The dagger sticks into his thigh.

One of the two remaining hobgoblin is up near the leader and he runs for the side door (Gneiss can get an AoO).

The Leader jumps to his feet as Gneiss comes close and Tygerlilly's dagger stabs him in the thigh. He just misses, going inches above Gneiss' head as both of them are momentarily distracted by the other remaining hobgoblin.

Pearl takes on the leader and gouges a chunk out of his flesh, but he looks like he's in for a long fight.

Gneiss passes Maritta in the previous room to listen at the blocked door. It sounds like talking, some yelling and bowls clinking.

Pearl opens the far door in the room to find that it is a well stocked supply room. Many sturdy shelves line the walls and a wide aisle runs down the center of the room. It looks like she's peering into the middle of the room, both ends are dark.

Tygerlilly is busy laying the stuff next to her. So far, 4 daggers (oversized for her) and bracers of armor from the big guy. She's already cleaned off her daggers and put them away. She's also found a bag of silver coins. Kalrin has also found a few bags of shiny coins on the other hobgoblins and discarded under the table, a hand crossbow.

    Pearl

Pearl turns back towards the others to give a quick report.

"Storeroom. Long centre aisle. Probably a door at the far end. Do we need anything?"

Unless Gneiss opts to take a quick peek down at the other end, Pearl will retrieve her lantern and go listen at, and then peek through, any other doors in the storage room.

"Gneiss, could you use this?" Kalrin asks, proffering the hand-crossbow once the Dwarf returns.

Gneiss urges Maritta forward ahead of him as he rejoins the others.

"So far so good back there," he reports, voice low. "Doesn't seem like they heard anything."

He shakes his head in response to Kalrin's question. "I hear there's some kind of trick to using those little bows, but I've never had occasion to use one," he replies.

Kalrin shrugs and offers it to Tigerlilly instead, thinking she could have some fun fiddling with it. "Alright, where to now?"
