In a fantasy-themed part of the Red Zone, a pair of sphinx statues stand guard beside a stone archway apparently leading to a dead-end alley. But if you've been clued in by the right criminal or mage, you would know that the archway is a well concealed portal to a large open-air courtyard. Hidden from unfriendly eyes, be they magic or technological, bustles the Sable Souk. A black market for magic users, the Sable Souk consists of dozens of brightly colored stalls selling arcane materials both unlawful and amoral. The merchants shout loudly in several languages, offering nice deals and fair prices for dragon blood, pilfered holy artifacts, diabolical rituals, concentrated unicorn tears, contraband alchemical apparatuses, and more. One large tent near the center appears to sell magical creatures and more sentient, humanoid beings as slaves. A faint smell of death wafts over from a magically cooled structure in the corner, where whole corpses are sold to necromancers. This bizarre bazaar has everything a spellcaster could ever want... so long as they don't ask too many questions about where it came from.

To be fair, the only real contraband there are the slaves.

The marketplace will have to be careful, as there is a standing bounty on slavers, but if/when Remnant finds out, the owners will be given a chance to get rid of them first, but I can't promise PCs will react with such leniency.

So, what's happening with the Caravan in Outside? I seem to have lost track of it.

Well, they can sell their wares for cheaper than the street price because almost everything is stolen or illegal in their homelands.

Anyways, I think the Sable Souk is a really cool idea, one that I'd like to come back to now and then, but I don't expect it to see much use. That said, I could easily run a plot at some point if people really want to shut down the slave trader.

Yeah, if you want slaves go to Fallow's Furry & Feathered Friends in Riverside, ask to see some more exotic goods and tell them your name/the name of whomever sent you. They'll take you to some slaves.

Unless he's high-powered or something, go ahead. I think the point of this skirmish was to give D-Cish power level characters something to do. That said, as awesome as Jacques is at outmaneuvering stronger foes, FeyClaw is mildly screwed with 3 mercenaries on the other side and Jacques just there, alone, with an assault rifle.

If Chez was simply roaming around, wouldn't his location be extremely easy to pinpoint/triangulate/indicate/whatever? Just select a zone of the City of Inside, slap the word "Streets"/"Alley"/"Rooftops"/"Sky" on its aft-end, and you're good to go.
