    Default [Compendium] Spells

    Please do not post in this thread except to submit your homebrews in the approved format. If you want to discuss things, please do so in the Discussion Thread

    Spells and Domains

    In this thread will reside every user-submitted spell designed by the Playground. When submitting your spells, please do so in the approved format, with no extraneous detail. Doing otherwise will result in a thread that is hard to navigate.

    There are essentially two sections in this thread. The first is homebrew spells. These will be tagged with the spell level and the type of spell. The second is for domains. These will all contain the [Domain] tag, but should include a short description that makes it clear what the primary point of the domain is.

    Entries should look like this:
    [Tag][Level] / [Tag][Level] / [Tag][Level]
    Spell Name: A one-line explanation of the spell.

    *Note the order of tag-level, note that all tags have a level, even if it is the same, and note that some spells may have different levels for each tag. Also note that this is the first compendium in which the tags are above the description, rather than in-line.

    [Domain] Domain Name: A one-line explanation of the domain.
    For instance:
    [S/W][9] / [DN][9]
    Prismatic Field: Everyone in a 60' area is subject to the effects of a prismatic ray.

    [S/W][4] / [Bard][3]
    Tasha's Hideous Noogie: A less horrifying, but more annoying, way to preoccupy a single target.

    [Domain] Squirrel Domain: Exactly what it sounds like.

    That's it. Please provide nothing else and try to limit your explanation to one line. Please try to consolidate all of your homebrews into one post if you come back later to add more.

    [Domain] - all domains will have this tag.

    [0-9] or [Epic]

    Type:
    [S/W] - Sorcerer/Wizard spells
    [Clr] - Cleric spells
    [Rngr] - Ranger spells
    [Druid] - Druid spells
    [Pldn] - Paladin spells
    [Bard] - Bard spells
    [Psion] - Psion spells
    [WuJ] - Wu Jen spells
    [Art] - Artificer spells
    [DN] - Dread Necromancer spells
    [Bgl] - Beguiler spells
    [WM] - Warmage spells


    I realize that this one is going to be a work in progress, because I'm not going to be able to anticipate all of the other types of magic that may crop up. If your spell doesn't fit one of the above types, then use [Other] tag as a placeholder and request the tag on the Discussion Thread, then come back and replace it. If this thread is several years old when you add yours and it seems like I've dropped off the face of the earth, just go ahead and create the tag, and multitag your entry with [Other][Your Tag].

    [S/W][2]/[Clr][2]/[DN][2] Breath of Undeath- Temporary, single-undead version of Animate dead with no material component.
    [S/W][4]/[Clr][4]/[DN][3] Undead Summoning Runes- Place a rune on your willing undead, and summon them at a later time.
    [S/W][3]/[Clr][3] Necrotic Leak- Near-by undead leak negative energy and damage others.
    [S/W][5]/[DN[[5]/[Clr][6] Remote Necromancy- Command your controlled undead from a long distance, safely away from danger.
    [S/W][3]/[Clr][3]Burning Plague- Target becomes carrier for magic disease that does damage and inflicts others with the spell.
    [S/W][4]Dark Sanctuary- Abjuration spell that makes it difficult to attack or cast divine spells within an area.
    [S/W][3] Word Sealing- Enchantment spell that prevents subjects from discussing a topic.
    [S/W][2] Temptation- Spell makes an object so pleasing to the eye that others will waste their actions trying to retrieve the object.

    Armor of Flesh: A controlled undead becomes a living armor for you.
    [S/W][2]
    Naïlo's Repulsion: Stops people from "being intimate" with the target.
    [Bnd][1-9]/ [Clr][1-9]/ [S/W][1-9]
    New Summoning Spells: Summons a creature of any type, from aberrations to oozes, to dragons to undead.

    Mass fireball. More explosions!

    [S/W][5] / [Druid][5] / [WM][5]
    Incinerate. Single target, huge fire damage and chance to blind.

    [S/W][7] / [WM][7]
    Electrocute. Single Target huge electrical damage and chance to stun.

    [S/W][4] / [Druid][4] / [WM][4]
    Heat Shield. Immediate action spell that counters a single fire or cold spell as it is cast. If you fail you can still negate some of its damage.

    [S/W][3] / [Druid][3] / [WM][3]
    Icy Prison. Trap a target in a block of ice and deal damage until freed. Can retry saves.

    [S/W][5] / [WM][5]
    Energized Field. Damage over time cloud that also negates fatigue and exhaustion.

    And new type of spells, only for [Evocation]: Pure energy. Works half as well against electrical or fire resistance and is good at causing death from massive damage.

    [S/W][5] / [WM][5]
    Pure energy Ray. Single target, lots of damage and bypasses immunity to death by massive damage. A save vs massive damage DC is treated as if it were a spell two levels lower than this one.

    [S/W][7] / [WM][7]
    Pure energy Spray. Cone effect, lots of damage and bypasses immunity to death by massive damage. A save vs massive damage DC is treated as if it were a spell two levels lower than this one.

    [S/W][9] / [WM][9]
    Pure energy Burst. Select targets based on caster level, lots of damage and bypasses immunity to death by massive damage. A save vs massive damage DC is treated as if it were a spell two levels lower than this one.
