"Sure," Magtok mumbles.

The cyborg's not going to drink anything while he's over there, though. And MagSat is going to be watching his back in case anyone tries to sneak up on it. And if Libby even thinks for a moment to zip off and go say hi to someone or escort a dead Moff to the afterlife or something, he's going to insist on accompanying her so he's not left to fend for himself when the next disaster hits. And he's not going to say anything to anyone unless spoken to so he doesn't accidentally say something terrible and get punched in the face, and he's-

...Well, you get the idea. Once they're seated, Magtok wrings some saltwater out of a sleeve, makes some use out of that totally lame Transformers towel, and offers Libby a weak smile.

"You know you're never going to successfully seduce me and junk if I start subconsciously associating all of this date stuff with doom and disaster, right?"

Probably a touchy subject, Mag! Your use of the word 'seduce' is silly, but you still shouldn't be making jokes like that! Libby has feelings too, remember!

"Seriously though, I'd look into that luck goddess thing, just in case. Someone might have it out for you."

At least a couple of them have it out for Maggy, but he's used to that. Life would be kinda boring if it wasn't out to get him. Libby's clearly not the underhanded, nefarious, and rebellious sort designed to deal with that kind of hardship, though. Life isn't competing against her by making her fall for Maggy and then dashing her hopes by smacking the object of her affection around like a punching bag. No, it's just outright bullying her, and that's terrible.

Magtok thinks all of that over for a drunk minute or two, before arriving at absolutely the stupidest conclusion I can remember him ever arriving at.

"Wait! I've got it! I have an idea, and it's probably stupid and kinda impulsive, but it shouldn't beat anyone up or embarrass them or anything! I suddenly and without warning just...make out with you or something, and then you turn on your magic god-eyes or something and sweep the area for sneaky deity spies who're freaking out because something completely impossibly impossible just spontaneously ruined their evil plot to make you miserable, and then you confront them about being terrible people and they run away and awful things stop happening to my face."

Absolutely the stupidest conclusion ever. It's not even the slightest bit spontaneous if you explain your entire plan right out in the open where those nonexistent god spies could be listening in on you! That's the exact opposite of sudden, unexpected, impulsive, and without warning! Your mouth still tastes like icky saltwater, you have no way of knowing if Libby will accept and then just make something up about spies to let you feel better about yourself, and how could you possibly know for sure that this idea of yours wasn't the intent of those deities, too? This plan has more holes in it than that Magbot you were testing the new laser-goose designs on yesterday. At least you had the decency to ask Libby this time instead of just attacking her lap without warning, though.

"I meant Kirk's methods." Jezebel says jokingly. Looking up at Harnel, she smiles slyly before yawning and giving a slow stretch to work out the kinks in her arms and legs. "Meet Shae, Kirk, Fettina and Dena." With a short glance back at Shae, she chuckles. "Though, he is a bit stunned from the looks of things. It's nice to see you again, Harnel. Care to take a seat?" She asks, patting the ground on the opposite side of her than Shae. "Sorry about last time, but I was trying to somewhat make amends in a strange, roundabout way. Hope it worked out for the better."

"Oh, Kirk don't really have a method, he's more of a drinking fountain, anyone can drink from him. He just shows that he's available." Dena says with a smile before turning to Harnel, ogling the half-dragon curiously.

"Dena, nice meeting you." She tells him with a smile. "I think I saw you at the auction." He was the guy that got kicked out. "How do you know Jezebel exactly?"

[Beachside]

Harnel goes to sit next to them, taking whatever empty space is available without making people shuffle over too much, "We've been... antagonists in the past. We've been trying to make amends to one another and start a friendship, but so far we seem to have a habit of making that blow up in each other's faces. Hopefully this time works a bit better."

"It was a classic "Boy meets girl, girl tortures boy for ransom, boy escapes and lives happily ever after" story." Jezebel tells the others. "And don't worry, Harnel. I plan on leaving you two alone for as long as possible, really."

"No, you are much too pretty to hurt people," Shae says to Jezebel. "You are making the joke now."

"Sure thing, cutie," Moff 101 says to Johnny, slipping the number into a portal for safe keeping. Then turns to Romeo and Dave. "So. Surfing lessons?"

Kirk rolls his eyes good naturedly at the women talking about him as if he isn't there. He doesn't speak up at the moment anyway. The drow gives Harnel a nod when he arrives.

Tina looks between Kirk and Dena, then toward the ocean. She addresses them quietly, so as to avoid interrupting Harnel and Jezebel. "Did you two wanna go swimming?"

"Well I can l-...wha?"
Well.
This conversation went quite a few directions.

Libby is trying to figure out how luck-goddess-woes and negative-event-association lead into sneaky make-outs, but...
She's not sure that's a thought that can end well.

Not even sure the next few moments can end well.
Maggy is so obviously drunk right now, in his little way. His usual style of convoluted, slightly silly plan, mixed rather heavily with something she's fairly sure he would be against.
There was that incident earlier with her kissing him, the thing with the lap...and now he's migrated to this, of his own accord.

But how will he feel when he's sober again?

From a fairly honest standpoint, there's a good portion of Libby that is trapped between "Eeee!"ing like an excited little girl, and fantasizing about rather prolonged make-outs.
So this sounds like a really good plan from a...practical standpoint.

But this will probably hurt future endeavors!
What if Maggy thinks she was taking advantage of him, in his drunken state?
She's not entirely sober herself, but she's certainly better off than he is.
Then again, he probably doesn't/won't know that, and she could play it off that she's just a coherent drunk...


During all this internal debate, Libby is outwardly left with a rather indecisive look. She isn't hiding her thoughts very well.
"I'm...not...surethatwouldwork."
Wincing and slightly recoiling from herself, the reaper ends almost on a squeak.

Johnny grins.
"You're certainly welcome. Call me sometime, though."
He'll hand Moff 101 his phone number on a slip of paper.
Why does he carry those around?
You never know when you might find some hot guy.

"Good, OH GOD THERE THEY GO AT IT." he said as he looked at his brother, covering his eyes.

"Yup. And so long as you have a surfboard, I will teach you." ^_^
"You do have a surfboard, right?" he directs at Moff.

"Um..." Moff's surfboard got washed away by the giant wave. It's on a great adventure now, ready to circumnavigate the globe. "I'll go get another one!"

He goes to the surfboard rental place and grabs another one. A blue one!

Romeo chuckles at Moff's antics. If he recalls correctly that boards been gone since being rescue-groped by devils. "Give him a second."

Dena blinks as she hears Jezebel's reply. Was She kidding as Shae claimed? Probably not with what she knew about Jezebel. It likely hadn't been that severe torture if he wanted to befriend her afterwards though but torture wasn't a subject she felt comfortable with.

She turns to Tina and nods, "...yeah, sure." Anything to get out of this line of discussion.

"Alright, from here you have two choices. I could put you through pointless things to make you one with the board and the ocean, or I could just plain teach you how to surf. Which one do you want?"

Moff raises his hand. "Do the pointless things show off your body?"

Dave nods.
"Yes, it also includes a dance scene, drama, and board wax."

"The pointless one," Romeo votes. "Especially if it involves a training montage or having to save a popular yet failing small business frequented by local teens." Okay, he has officially been hanging out with his magic master too long. He should not have knowledge of those tropes. He's from a swords and sorcery universe for Pete's sake.

Dave will then teach them how to surf from the heart by being one with the board.
This includes, but is not limited to: Surfing on land, fighting sea creatures, dancing with each other, a climatic scene where they split off and try it on their own, only to fail and come back together, ending in where Dave finally deems them ready to surf after giving an inspiring speech where he says he believes in them(which may or may not have made several people cry).
And so, Dave grins.
"So, let's surf!"

"Probably not enough to faze deities, yeah. Nexus ones especially probably see a lot of stupid nonsense."

Magtok nods in a manner he probably thinks looks sage and wise right about now. Which it isn't. It's closer to oblivious and stupid than anything else. He then nudges his glass away with a finger, figuring he's probably gone past his limit at least twice now, before turning back towards Libby with a raised eyebrow.

"So what am I supposed to be asking you about you, anyway? You're not a robot who just reaps all day and night, I've figured out that much, but...I'm just so confused. I've been on...one, maybe two first dates before, was the instigator those times, and I kinda already knew one of those two people beforehand, and the other one eventually ended in just being friends because of that whole 'trying to have Vasquez assassinated by her own hypnotized boyfriend' thing."

Blargh. This would all be so much easier if he actually liked Libby.

Aeia picks herself out of the sand and gets to her feat. Bluh, this has turned out to be a disaster. "Come on, Bark. Let's go. I'm not having fun anymore." It's a shame she won't be sticking around to meet up with Kal, but maybe she'll run into him again. Right now she just wants to go... and wash in some not salty water.

"Hoouurrrm... Alright then, Aeia." Bark makes a point of laboriously standing upright from his seated position. He's stretching out the moment until he has to turn away from the sun and surf.

But he can't procrastinate that long, and soon he's standing behind Aeia, ready to leave with only a wistful sigh on his lips to show his lack of satisfaction with the arrangement.

Libby's whole mojo has been tossed aside again.
She really has to stop doing this to herself, it isn't helping anything anywhere.
Least of all her attempts with Maggy.

"Don't know that I can safely judge everything you'd want to know. Not quite the expert on Maggy Knowing Needs."
Although she certainly knows far more about the cyborg than he'd be comfortable with, she's sure.
They've had a rather close relationship, before he even recognized her as a non-abstract entity.
"I think, it depends on what matters to you most..."

"You guys don't have to leave - she's exagerating," Harnel seems to have caught on to the reason they're fleeing towards the water, "I got captured, yes, and the manacles had hooks on them, but beyond that, it wasn't too bad. There wasn't any actual torture." Harnel being the one to know, of course, as he is trained in the art of interrogation himself >.>

Jezebel smiles warmly to Shae and sets her hand on his cheek affectionately before looking up. "Harnel would know after all." She admits before looking at Kirk. "Before you head to the water though, mind if I talk to you for a moment? In private. It concerns our arrangement from the Charity. Just a couple minutes of your time is all I need."

Kirk raises his eyebrow at Harnel and Jezebel. Wasn't he married... Eh, no concern to him. "I don't mind at all. You two go ahead. I'll catch up." he directs the last toward Dena and Fettina.

Before they go surfing, Romeo (attempts) to put his hand on Moff's shoulder. "You can be my wingman anytime." This is said entirely without irony.

"Hey, I just wanna swim," Tina says, shrugging toward Harnel. She's used to people saying weird-ass things by now. She nods at Kirk and Jezebel, but rolls her eyes before leaving. "Whatever. You go ahead and arrange your privates. We'll be there." Tina starts off toward the surf, presumably followed by Dena.

Once they're a fair distance away, Tina snorts amusedly, smirking. "Charity my ass."

Dena slowly get's up from the floor but grabs Kirk's hat before she goes off. "If any of my stuff disappear while I'm gone, the hat is mine, got it?" She tells Kirk with a look before she goes after Tina.

As they out of sight the drow holds in her own amusement at the musicians comment. "Oh, don't make any mistake. Kirk is really into charity, he's dependent on women like us offering it to him after all. Jezebel seems really charitable too." She replies with a glance back at the three.

Magtok frowns, taking another few moments to collect his thoughts and try to figure out what is and is not on the list of Maggy Knowing Needs, as Libby so aptly put it.

"Okay, so...can you die? I don't mean like, tell me how or anything, and I'm not asking you to do that, either, nor am I planning on it, but is it a possibility, with the right magic and nonsense? Do you have any hobbies? And...hold on, I can come up with more than two..."

Magtok's face scrunches up, struggling to offer something better than 'What do you like and how do I kill you?' for his Needs list. I don't know why he's wasting his time with this, though. He's already decided he finds Libby creepy, isn't interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with her, and we both know that, even if Libby was willing to settle for just being friends, that'd probably end up causing an awful lot of broken ribs, too.

"Alright, umm...okay, random stupid nonsense question, what's the dumbest thing you've ever done, excluding anything so dumb you'd never admit to doing that?"

Tina gives a low chuckle while they walk, saying, "Mm. We're mean, aren't we?" She quirks a brow. "You and Kirk seem chummy, though, for people who try to annoy eachother."

The musician walks into the water, letting the water drift over her feet for the first time today. She wiggles her toes. "Huh. Thought it would be colder."
