Toby appears in the middle of the camp. He looks around, sees Rein at the sunning spot, and hurriedly rushes towards him. Hey! The assassin is coming back! I need you to get to the cellar with me so we can talk!

Reinholdt blinks awake.
"Awww... I was just getting to sleep too."

He stands and kitty stretches, but will follow Tobias after that.

Toby quickly ushers his friend into the cellar... and removes his shirt. Take off your clothes.

... Well it's about damn time!

"Well... for starters, I'm not wearing any, and secondly... NO."

Reinholdt kitty says.

"Geeze put your shirt back on anyways. Yeesh." Reinholdt goes to cover his eyes with a paw.

Toby might or might not find it of interest to notify his wife, who is just now exiting the Infirmary to rescue him, that she won't be needing to raise him this time.

What, you expected that he might want to notify her about something else?

Toby sighs impatiently and puts his hand on his throat to cast a voice-changing spell before he kneels to untie his shoes. I need your clothes.

He frowns as often as I remember. Which is about every single post. Including this one.

Oh, that wasn't very clear. The magical alterations are just what Toby is doing to himself. Doing it to other people is too complicated. He kidnapped me and demanded information, but I made a deal. He kills Reinholdt and gets a picture to prove the death to his employer. But the contract never stipulated permadeath, so he'll let Quinn raise Reinholdt. We know for sure that her ressurections work on me, so that's what we're doing. His face starts slowly turning into the Flaming Hawt visage.

Sorry. I wasn't very clear. Reinholdt cast his own voice changing spell. He's used it back when he developed a split Rabbit personality. Why he did it now... probably some ego related thing.

"It's not necessary anymore Tobias, though I appreciate the effort you've made. Thank you all the same, but I fear not this assassin, nor what he brings." Reinholdt dips his head a little in respect to Tobias, before turning to head away.

He must be crazy.

By this time, Toby's whole head looks like Rein's, but his eyes are still his normal blue. I'm your friend; I don't want you to get hurt, masochist or not. Just... just promise me you'll come back. He will block the cat from the exit until he gets that promise.

"From what? Being attacked? Killed maybe? From being afraid and hiding my whole life cause someone's always going to be out to get me?" Reinholdt shakes his head. "I can't promise you anything Tobias. For all our powers and abilities, the future is not something we have control over. Heck, I don't even know if I have a soul." Being a clone complicates things like that.

The Druid frowns. If he kills you once, he'll just go away. I can get Quinn to try to raise you, but... He's actually worried that Reinholdt won't agree to come back.

~What? Oh...this had better be good,~ she thinks back.

"I know. There's no guarantee I'll be able to come back, because I'm a clone and not the real Reinholdt. I shouldn't exist in this world. What happens, will happen Tobias." Reinholdt shifts into his human form to give Tobias a reassuring shoulder pat. It's hard to do that as a cat.

Toby turns back to his normal form and fights the urge to knock Rein out and take his clothes off. He also fights the urge to knock Rein out and get killed in his place. But in all seriousness now, he tries to give his friend a brotherly hug. All right. Start thinking of a witty one-liner and let's go.

Teq steps out of the trees, having simply followed Tobias home. He waits there, worrying and wondering. The soldier just wants to get this done and go. The whole thing had turned out... messy.

Of course, none of this shows on his face. That can't be allowed.

"Plan B time," she tells Vidalia.

"Oh you know me. I'm not good at the witty liners, but man can I throw a nasty curveball." Reinholdt gives him a wink before going to put on his forcefield amulet. If Tobias wishes to change his mind and go for the suicide route, now's his last opportunity. I am prepared either way.

Toby doesn't actually know what that amulet does. Do we hold the moral high ground and let you get killed and then try to bring you back? Or do we cast morality to the wind and go down fighting?

"What? Seeing as how I don't see the moral high ground at all in the former, I'm definitely going with the later." Letting him get killed and trying to bring him back wouldn't be very moral at all! It'd just be tricking different people in different ways.

What? That's total Jesus moves right there. Just let them kill you and you become a martyr. It might be harder to bring you back for good after that, but the assassin is set up as the clear villain for striking down an unresisting hero. Also, giving in to your anger and killing for the wrong reasons are the Sith short cuts to the darkside, so make sure you let him attack first. Narrative justification is key in a fight like this, don'tcha know.

But deadtime, because it's later than I'd like, considering all I have to do before class tomorrow. >.>

If Teq is just outside the fortress he'll be standing in the middle of the camp, or in the infirmary, as those are the only two entrances.

Oh, and he'll probably notice the Beargon and dwarf coming back this way before they notice him.

Either Toby or Rein might see a young dwarf in a motley assortment of clothes peering at them. He looks about three, but already has a full bushy beard.

Jamie eeps, then giggles cheerfully, and goes to put the little onion by the garden gate. "Do you have a name?"

The little onion rolls out of Jamie's hands when she lowers it close enough to the ground. It begins precisely whacking weeds. Whack! Don't. Whack! Have. Whack! One. Whack! Yet.
