Re: Machines of War
The dagger barely misses the beast's eye, but cuts deeply into his flesh. It's snarls redouble, and so do his attacks.

Re: Machines of War
The few attacks you are unable to dodge land ineffectually on your armor. Your dagger, in turn, does the lion's share of the work, damaging muscle and slicing tendons.
The beast continues his onslaught.

Re: Machines of War
The beast howls like the ROUS from The Princess Bride and keels over, defeated. In the flickering light from your smoldering torch, you can finally see that it is a monstrous badger, with thick fur, rippling muscles, and wicked, curving teeth and claws. Its blood slowly seeps out onto the rocks, making them slick and glistening.

Re: Machines of War
First I am going to chug a cure light wounds potion.
(1d8)[6]
Then stab the badger again and again and again, just to be sure.
Then I am going to sneak back to the secret room at the fort for supplies and to recover some hit points.

Re: Machines of War
You are in N49 of the forest map. The fort is a inside an ancient Deku tree, naturally hollow and enlarged to house an elven garrison. The secret entrance is on the northwest side.

Wow, two twenties and a one. Regardless, you spy hobgoblin soldiers standing watch, a camp of hobgoblins to the north, and other soldiers also on watch. They look alert, but you are too well hidden for them to notice you.Last edited by madtinker; 2011-11-22 at 03:45 PM.

Re: Machines of War
Sneak over to AE-40 to use the tree as cover and sneak attack the guard in AE-34 using my bow. The range should be under 30ft.
I will keep the trees between they and Jaster until Z-43 and brush crawl to get over there, so it should be a matter of moving silently.
Move silently walk:

And the die roller is being uncooperative again. Let me know if I get into position.Last edited by INWranger; 2011-11-22 at 05:51 PM.

Re: Machines of War
There's not much you can do with and arrow through your throat. This hobgoblin realizes this pretty fast, and elects to keel over dead.

Re: Machines of War
Kudos on the funniest text death I have ever read.
I move silently using the following steps
J to J1 I walk
(1d20+9)[25]
J1 to J2 crawl
(1d20+9)[17]
J2 to J3 I walk, keeping the tree in AG-23 between the hobgoblin in AE-15 and I.
(1d20+9)[17]
J3 to J4 I crawl
(1d20+9)[15]
and J4 to J5 I walk, again keeping the trees between the hobgoblin and I.
