I don't even like animals , but why are they mocking me? They are the freaks! They are all wrong, I'm normal, I'm as normal as I can be. I never stick out, I follow all the convictions. They can't do this to me after all I have done... wait, who am I? This isn't Hestopia. Why are they all laughing?

"I certainly didn't name it." Cessie replies with a faint smile. "And unless your lying, I might be able to find out what could have caused you to appear here. You are from another world aren't you? This is the nexus, a place where people seem to end up all the time. That's how my husband were brought her for instance." She explains while walking towards the shelves.

The earth elemental stays with her, guarding her.

"Umm... I know that there's an alien government out there, but humans are all quarantined to... unless that's what they want us to think... but why would they do that?"

Oh, dear, it seems she's thinking of the wrong definition of world.

"Well, if you can find out how to get me back home I would really appreciate it. Not sure if I could pay you for it, but I would really appreciate it."

The mage takes a book out of the shelf and turns to the catgirl. "I'm not sure there is a way to get home. At least not without proper research. No payment is nessecary of course, but it might take some time." She replies, handing Kirin a book which seem to be about the nexus. It isn't very thick.

"Why don't you tell me more about your world meanwhile? Might might it easier to find it if we were to look for a way home."

"Well, then, I think that's what I want to try," Kara declares with a nod.

"And likewise, to you," Patty says, smiling and returning the quick wink, then, presumably, turning to head off.
She's done what she can.
Now, she knows, is time for privately grieving.

The robot nods, and, unless Kara stops her, goes to the closest of the two rooms they passed when going to the kitchen, to retrieve a hand she uses for cooking such things.

"Umm... do you want the history, or just an overview? I can give you the history... and an overview might miss some important things. I don't know what you need."

She begins leafing through the Nexus book. She stops suddenly, looking at a particularly odd picture. It looks like someone tried to map the city of inside... there are about eighteen dots marked "Trog's Tavern." There are a number of edits, things are lined out, white out has been used. Scrawled in the lower left corner are the words "I give up, this thing can't be mapped."

Talnissa removes her right hand, carefully, and sets it aside, before picking out another, with an intricate pattern of blades on the palm and fingers, which, unless she's stopped, will be attached where the old one was.

"That's a little creepy, but, um, well...kinda...handy?"
Kara giggles at her only half-intentional pun.

Talnissa laughs at the pun as well, apparently liking Kara's sense of humor.


"Yep. I originally designed it as a weapon, but there's not much call for chopping up people here, and it's one of the few things that will cut through that thing's carapace, so it's pretty much exclusively used for stuff like this now."

"I like to know the history actually. These things interest me." Cessie says as she picks out yet another book, this one about planar travel.

"I have seen your kind before once or twice, but you seem different then them." Mostly since both the catpersons she meet been almost completely nude. "But tell me about your world and yourself. Maybe we can figure something out?"

Another earth elemental is summoned nearby. "Do you like something to eat or drink by the way? I can have one of the elementals get it for you."

"Be safe, Julie," he offers as a goodbye. As Julie leaves, he turns to Patty. "You too, umm." He freezes for a moment. "Patricia," he says with a snap of his fingers.

Hestopia? What is this Hestopia? This is Menzoberranzan.

The brief interlude is broken. Your friend is dead. The laughter of those you so desired acceptance from mock you. The bat lies in front of you, dead. You snap inside. They could laugh at you all they want, but the moment they touched your friend, they lost all immunity. It doesn't matter if they're stronger, better, more important, untouchable. You'll take them down, no matter what. You'll take them all on.

And you do. You work with drive. You train and plot and become the best around with a whip. You fight and claw and make yourself worthwhile. And in time, the scene fades into triumph. You have the girls responsible and their torture and subsequent deaths bring you extreme glee, but no repose.

Kara certainly appreciates that she appreciates it.
"Swords into plowshares, so to speak? I guess that makes sense. And those things are pretty tough, then, I take it..."

"Exactly. Although, in this case, not so much redesigning was needed. And yeah, they're quite tough, though fortunately the largest ones are only about half human size," Talnissa says, going to head back to the kitchen.

Now Cessie may notice that another way that this catgirl is different is that she is very skinny. She looks unhealthily skinny, even.

"OH! Yes, I would love a bit to eat. Okay... so apparently the story starts hundereds of years ago with the old world. There was the Ullen invasion, which ended in some kind of super weapon crashing. The details from this point in time are sketchy at best and mainly recorded by Ullen historians. So, the destruction of the superweapon was called "The Great Crash," and apparently it really messed up all the ancient technology, wrecked cities, and introduced magic into the world. And then the aliens quarantined the planet."

...That's an interesting start to the story.

Kara processes that for a moment. Pales a bit.
"I hope I never run into one that big in a dark alley."

"What do you want? Meat? Vegetables? I'm not entirely sure about your diet." Cat girls might eat souls for all she knows.

"And I'm afraid i don't know what many of those terms mean. How is 'magic' introduced to a world? I guess it might be like eldritch type of 'magic' your talking about. But continue, who are you in this world Kirin?"

Yes, if anyone touch the persons I love, they don't deserve any mercy until they give up. They can all burn for all she cares, torture might not be nessecary, but once you touched my friends or lovers, you lose all immunity. She's rather sympathetic towards that, she would almost have done the same thing. All she needs is a little push...

"So do I. Though, considering this place, I should probably get a few, and teach you how to kill them, just in case.", she says, going to put her (left, so as not to accidentally slice Kara) arm around her girlfriend.

Kara leans into the embrace!
And nods. A little reluctantly.
"Yeah. I wouldn't want "eaten by a snail" to be my epitath," she says - starting to giggle a bit at the thought.

"Huh, oh, I prefer meat, but whatever. I'll eat anything not absolutely nasty. Me? I'm a student and a part-time adventurer. There's a LOT more history to this. There's the Great Fallout, the Great rebuilding, and a bit on the modern age I could go over."

She takes her backpack back off and sits down, smoothing her blue dress. She's all in blue, a bright blue dress, a periwinkle blue blouse, a pale blue vest, kind of sandy blue socks...

Girl likes blue.

Talnissa laughs a bit as well, and nods.

"Indeed. Though I think I'd at least try to come up with a better one than that for you."

[Cessie's Head]

No. No one is safe after that.

You continue your training, get stronger every day. The scene changes to a library. You're with your brother. You are a few years older. You're curious about your parentage. You always knew who your father is, but no one mentions your mother. Your brother claims he's got just the ritual to do it. Your hesitant, finding magic weak, but go with it. You sit next to him as he casts. He suddenly twitches, looking in pain. You reach over to steady him, and when you touch him images flood your mind. Horrible sadistic, cruel things that even make your stomach churn. You turn around to throw up. Calublufiok. He disgusts you in ways you can't even describe.

You swear then that you'll never drink blood ever again. You never have.

"Hopefully that won't be for a very, very, very long time," Kara says honestly and earnestly.

[Lady Serpentine]

[Talnissa's]

"Never, if you want...", the robot says, nodding at Kara's statement.

"I'd like that...as long as I kept my soul. And my sanity."
Kara smiles a little.
"Immortality can be...um, tricky, from what I've heard."

[Lady Serpentine]

[Talnissa's]

The robot nods, smiling.

"You'll keep both, don't worry. Either method needs your soul to be very much intact, and yours, and there's no reason for you to go insane.

The first way would be to bring you back as an undead when, for whatever reason, you die. The other is what was done to me. Do you have a preference?"

"I think this is something I'll have to think about for awhile," Kara says, smiling back. "I wouldn't think undead would be preferable, of course, but who knows what might happen?"
