[NEXUS] WATCHTOWER 14: Now a Family Business.

A while after the scene at the hospital in Inside, Harnel arrives here. Unless stopped, he won't even talk to anybody. He justw alks forward, looking grim and worried.

The first thing he does is goes to a wall, picking up a sheet of paper and a marker along the way, to write this:

I am down in the holding Cells because of my erratic behavior. If I leave, I am to be returned to the holding cells until my demonic transformation is cured. No exceptions.

He tapes the note to a wall before heading into the kitchen, grabbing himself a few things to eat from the fridge, and then heading down into the holding cells, where he was before.

"My name is Irregularity Brown. It's a bit odd, I know, but my parents wanted a child with an unusual name, and with the family surname it helps differentiate me from all the other Browns around." There's no comment about the chaining up part, though since the change in size is so large between human shape and squirrel shape, the chains may need to be magic.

[Mindfreak]

"I'm just gonna call you Brown then. I'm Katherine by the way."
And then she walks away...

"No! Call me Irregularity!" And then, to GLoG!

[Entrance => Main Room => Holding Cell]

Wenomir enters there through the courtyard, the events at Mithar Keep having put him in sour mood. It's not immediately that he notices Harnel's note, but he does read it eventually... which causes him no small deal of confusion. How did Harnel put himself in a holding cell if he just talked to the demon-hunter in his keep? Wenomir rushes to the holding cells to see if Harnel really is there.

Harnel is indeed here, sitting mostly in the dark since he can see fairly well even in extremely dim light. When Wenomir comes down, to the demon hunter's sense of smell it will be the same scent as the Harnel in the keep. a notable difference, however, is that Harnel is not wearing the flamenco tuxedo his doppelganger was, instead wearing a comfortable cotton shirt and track pants.

"Oh, hi Wenomir. Did you need something?"

[Morty]

Yes, actually, Wenomir responds, speaking quickly. How come you're here even though I just talked to you at your keep? And wearing different clothes, too? Not only that, but Harnel didn't appear to expect him.

[Halae]

[Holding Cell]

Harnel blinks, and then stands up off the bed, moving over to the bars of the cell, "I came straight here after I took Ariel to the hospital. You're saying there's someone who looks like me going into my home?" The tinge of rage in Harnel's voice is obviously not directed at Wenomir.

[Morty]

[Holding Cell]

Wenomir nods grimly. Yes, there is. He pauses for a little. Technically speaking, he really has no proof that the Harnel in front of him is the real one. He does behave somewhat more Harnel-like, but you never know with impostors. Wenomir still recalls Alek and his goons all to well. Tell me - do you know what exactly happened to Ariel?

It only takes a moment to realize what Wenomir is getting at, "I was angry at the time because Cessie and I had... gotten into an argument. Then Libra tried to talk to me and I snapped at her, which she didn't like, so she made me land on Ariel. There were several glass shards in her stomach, her arm was broken, and I'm sure she had a concussion. I took her to the hospital, spoke with Cessie there, and then came here to lock myself in." He says this all quickly, not wanting to waste any time, "Is that enough?"

[Morty]

[Holding Cell]

Wenomir nods. The other Harnel didn't know what had happened to Ariel. He pauses. He seemed a little surprised when I asked him that, actually... Yes, I think it makes you more likely to be the real Harnel. Wenomir's eyes narrow. And Libra will need to be dealt with permanently, but it'll have to wait.

[Halae]

[Holding Cell]

Harnel nods, but then doesn't seem quite sure, "I don't know if I should come with you, with how I've been acting. Can I get you to handle this? If I'm right, my double will have tried to steal my ho-... money." He would have said hoard, but that's not really a human term, is it? "When it comes to it, I'll gladly help you deal with Libra. Somehow, I'm sure this double nonsense is her doing."

[Morty]

[Holding Cell]

Wenomir looks uncertain.
I'm not sure... I think exposing your double or explaining the situation to Cessie and your maid would be easier if you came with me.

[Halae]

[Holding Cell]

"I'll come with you then," Harnel says, "The keys are on the far wall there," Harnel points to the wall behind wenomir.

[Morty]

[Holding Cell]

Wenomir nods, then fetches the keys and opens the cell. Now we need to hurry and get there before your double can do too much damage.

[Halae]

[Holding Cell]

Harnel nods, stepping out of the cell, and moving towards the stairs, "It'd be faster if we flew. Do you mind if I carry you?"

[Morty]

[Holding Cell]

Wenomir sighs. He hates flying, but... If you think you can lift me along with my armor, sure.

[Halae]

[Holding Cells ==> Leaving Watch]

"Right then."

Once outside the building, Harnel will attempt to sweep Wenomir off his feet and take off into the air, moving towards Mithar Keep at a breakneck pace. He's easily strong enough to Carry Wenomir and his equipment.

[Morty]

[Leavind Watch]

And Wenomir is carried away. He doesn't like it, but that's his problem.

[Morty]

Hooray for double posts. Wenomir and Harnel should be getting close to the tower by now.

[Halae]

Harnel stops in mid-stride, "Uh, Wenomir? Cessie just contacted me. They found the imposter waiting near the dragon graveyard."

[Morty]

[Going Back to Watch]

Wenomir stops as well.
So... is that our next stop? And what on earth is he doing there, I wonder?

[Halae]

[Standing Near Watch]

Harnel shakes his head, "I don't know, frankly. I guess we'll let Cessie and Kirin handle it, but we should go there in case they need help."

[Morty]

[Going Back to Watch]

Wenomir scratches his chin.
I guess. But then, maybe we ought to track down Libra? Better not give her time for more nearly lethal mischief.

[Halae]

[Going Back to Watch]

Harnel taps his chin for a moment, "Wenomir, how quickly can you get your sword out of it's sheath?"

[Morty]

[Going Back to Watch]

Maybe not faster than you can blink, but close. Why do you ask? Wenomir can guess, but he'd rather hear Harnel's full idea.

[Halae]

[Going Back to Watchtower]

Harnel just winks, hoping Wenomir knows what he means. If he's right, then Libra is watching. don't want to tip her off, after all, "Libra! Can you come speak with me? I know that you're probably still watching right now, so can we talk? I want to apologize for what I said before."

[Shadowcaller]

[Going Back to Watchtower]

"Hmph, what makes you you I would forgive you?" Libra's disembodied voice calls out. "You have just been mean lately and not interesting at all. You don't even come with wishes anymore even when I gave you one, I might just quit granting wishes entirely."

[Morty]

[Going Back to Watchtower]

Wenomir shifts his stance to a position from which he can draw his sword and attack in the blink of an eye. For anyone not highly trained in combat it's pretty much unnoticeable.

[Halae]

"It's just the demon blood Libra. I promise I'll be more interesting from now on, but can I please talk to you face to face? It feels weird to apologize to the open air." Harnel says crossing his arms and putting on his best "Concerned" face.
