Bullet seems to grin at the hit, despite lacking a mouth or any real movable parts, even after the bite hits him. Without order he goes for another punch, but lacks the energy to charge it, slicing at the Seviper with his claws instead. Meanwhile, Era tends to Ambrule, who seems to be feeling better but is still not conscious.

@Esprit: I actually made a mistake. That was supposed to be +32 damage, so while I'm not going to ask you to take it off your hitpoints due to my next point, I'm just going to point that out. My second point is Bite flinches on a 15 to 20. You can still Metal Claw if you moved faster than Nidhoggr at 12, but since Bullet has 5 movement, he was flinched. I'll let that attack roll carry over for the next one though.

Bullet is jarred as Nidhoggr bites down. The snake hit hard.

"You're a strong trainer, and a loyal one. Can I give you in a recent hatchling? We have several in our new species breeding program that should be allowed to roam free."
(Basically, if there's a snake you want, treat it as having been to a type ace of your choice and as having been hatched by Doug. Any combo goes.)

"I was rather nervous when I saw Ambrule go down like that. Of course if someone had actually waited, or had recalled her-"
"Yeah, it was my stupid action for the year. Anyways...dang, there aren't many snakes...Ekans, Seviper, Snivy and Onyx, and the last one only just. Has anyone been curious enough to try and breed a flaming Snivy?" A small flame seems to appear in Zachariah's eyes as well.

"Why yes, actually. We figured a grass type that was fireproof would go over spectacularly with grass trainers."
She leads you through the massive terrarium, and you enter a space with scorch marks all over the area. Around you are several fiery snakes, lounging in the heat lamps. One belches out some flame, and you eventually spot your 'mon. The normally white portion is the red of burning embers, with glowing veins coursing through. The green leaves look like flames, flickering whenever the snivy moves, and the eyes glow a warm yellow. It coughs slightly, and another gout of fire shoots from its mouth.

Ambrule is starting to come to. "Whoa... I remember teeth and then... is that a flaming Snivy?" She passes back out.
"That is the most adorable and awesome thing I have ever seen." He pets the flaming snake Pokémon.
C'est incroyable. Un Vipélierre, mais il brule aussi. C'est plus feu que plante! (Amazing! A Snivy, but it burns as well. It's more fire than grass!) You people have great Ace Trainers.

Janice smiles as you praise one of her small triumphs.
"Thank you! This is Incin. He only hatched this week, but he's coming along well."
Incin looks content and puffs up slightly, and Era hears him.
Your praise pleases Incin! Continue.
"Just a quick note, though, he can have a bit of an ego at times."

"Just like most Snivy." He chuckles at the Snivy's little ego. "We'll just have to fix that before we bring you home," he lifts the snake Pokémon into the air with a thought "Won't we?"
Don't worry, he's just playing around. I'm new here as well, as is Kater- Zachariah, let the team out so they can meet Incin. Zachariah lets out the rest of the team.
"Hm, gotta send someone home to the family. Bullet and Ambrule aren't going anywhere, Katergaris and Era should warm up to me a bit before they head home. It's either Nox or Pyroclast." He mumbles this to himself as the team introduces itself.
"Another type swap?"
"The proper term is 'Syncing' actually. Not that I would expect you to know."
"You little serpentine cinder..."
He seems to mean it in jest.
"Hello. I am called Katergaris."
"A pleasure."
"Wait, the brute gets respect and I get a snide hand wave?"
"And he gave a polite introduction, while you insulted my carefully mixed heritage. My response felt justified." Pyroclast crackled.
"Must we bring along this incindiary, acid tongued viper?" Incin just scoffs.
"Pyroclast, you seem annoyed. Something wrong?" Pyroclast glows red for a second, then calls himself down.
"Gma mar ma ma mag. Ma Magmar gma. Ma mar gma. (The team is full and Incin needs training. You may send me to your family for storage while you train him. Maybe I just need some time to rest.)" Era translates.
"That might do you some good. Just remember to be polite to Mother and Father. Their Pokémon will be doing the translating for you, after all."
Zachariah and Bullet thank Janice for the great battle and take Ambrule to the Pokémon Center to get healed up. While she's being taken care of, Zachariah sends Pyroclast to his family over the PC. "I'll have an explanation attached to your ball, so they shouldn't be surprised. Say hello to Lumin, Kyone and the rest of their teams." Pyroclast nods and enter his ball before being sent off. After he leaves, Zachariah turns to Incin. "Hm, now what to do with you."

Zayne, come back. Tina, Dragon Rage. Kara said with a nod.

Douglas then forced himself to his feet. There was a time for being miserable and whining about his legs, and there was now - when his family wished to stretch their legs.

"Choke?" Dropping Zon, who he'd been physically holding, Truse was quick to go to his trainer's side, worried. Douglas, thankfully, held onto the machoke's shoulder.

"I know you'd said you'd seen enough water for awhile, but the shoreline is probably the best place to go for awhile - be able to stretch out for a time, and relax more properly."

Which had originally been Truse's desire in the first place, but he simply nodded. "Choke."

He thanked the receptionist, and recalled the majority of his pokemon for ease of travel.

It was a few minutes later that the group arrived at the shoreline. Douglas was curious about the boat, but first re-released his pokemon - sending them out onto the sands. Vicuña glanced towards his trainer, who nodded.

"It's sand, so you can stomp as hard as you'd like. Really see what you can do."

Douglas sat down on the side - very glad to be off his feet once again. He then glanced to Calzoncillo. "Zon, one moment." He noted, before glancing up at the ship and events on the beach. He noted Big C was watching as well, just watching.

Zach: "Snivy!" (Show me the field of battle, so I may show my foes the glory that is Incin!)

Doug: Tony waves to you and says he'll catch you later, and the receptionist hopes you have a nice day before she departs to fight Zach. You see krabby and corphish all over the place, harvesting little things and nibbling them curiously. Occasionally a wingull scoops one up and there's an aerial battle. Normally in the wingull's favor. A loud THOOM comes from behind you and sand coats all of you.
Looking back, you see Vic look a little sheepish at that one. But who's that in the dist-Oh no. HELL no.
"Funny running into you here, Doug!"
Out of nowhere, Raleigh Mother****ing Boaire.

Kara: Honeypot roars as the blast hits, and topples back. Once the titanic pokemon clears, it's obvious he won't get up soon. There is a collective gasp from the pokemon watching the fight! Vincent looks to the fallen victreebel, now taking up quite a bit of room on the floor.
"You'll have to forgive me on what may be a minor infraction of the rules, but he's simply too big to leave on the ground."
He goes over to the pokemon and puts a hand against Honeypot's side. You've done this enough that you can actually feel him channeling healing energy into the victreebel, who gets up.
"Ree?"
"Sorry, but the dratini's got a mean hook. You can go back to your nap."
As he walks back, Honeypot wraps his tendrils around the rafters and pulls himself off of the ground. Vincent turns to look at you, and nods. Anansi shoots forward!

"Yes, but 'the greatness that is Incin' will also have the problem with 'the weakness that is youth.' We're training here for now." Incin hisses reluctantly at the jab. Zachariah just picks him up by his tail. "We're also going to train that pride right out of you. I'm not dealing with a self entitled fire type, and my family won't even let you in the house with that attitude. Shape up or get used to sleeping outside, savez?" Again, he is met by a hiss. Zachariah just smirks. He then sends out Katergaris. "Take Ambrule to the Center. She is absolutely beat from that fight. Here's my ID. Show it to the nurse and wait for her to be taken care of. Have attendant direct you to us when she is well and you return to the gym. Take no diversions and talk to no one. I don't want someone walking off with you and Ambrule."
"Sho. (Understood.)" The Machoke's voice is more faint than most, more resembling a whisper. Katergaris picks up the tired out Litwick, places the card in his belt and leaves the gym.
Zachariah walks back to the reception desk. He looks around and notices a notice on the wall. "'Practice battles, level-for-level up to 30. Twenty-five pen.' Incin, I know what you're doing for training." He turns to the receptionist. A man is there, Janice still being in the atrium caring for the snakes. "May I train a Snivy here? We were looking at your level-for-level training, going for thirty." He hands the man $25.

You head that way, and go in. The room's dark, until Incin gives a puff of fire.
You have never seen so many zubat robots in one spot, now intently focused on you. A sign near the light switch mentions they're programmed to fight nonlethally, and are full of that paralytic agent Doug was hit with.
Three hours and a lot of busted robots later, you and Incin emerge, covered in oil and poison and breathing hard. Thankfully, it seems to need to be directly introduced to the blood stream.
You think you're beginning to understand both why they have a discount today and why the Pokecenter is so close.
