Perhaps he was going on pure instinct, striking at empty air?
Or was left aghast as his prey escaped, elaving him surrounded by the newly dead?
    Idunno, roleplay it.
Sometimes, Actions will be made invalid.
    Combat can be chaotic.
It'll work against you guys sometimes, and other times, it'll work heavily in your favor.

In either case, both Therandil and Marros have three Ghosts 'on' them.
    One behind, and two flanking.
I don't think you can Tumble in mid-air...
...and they're both thirty feet away, though Marros is falling while Therandil remains aloft.

Moving faster than the eye can see, Marros strikes at the Orc. ..

But he is not fast enough....the Orc fades out before his eyes, his fist's slicing through empty air, as the sorcerer ports away. But he is soon replaced by some familiar faces. As the Ghost Lords terrible gaze sweeps across him, "Silent Dance" Marros squeezes shut his eyes, trusting in his heightened senses to guide him, he shouts to the flying sorcerer,

Who are you people? What is going on?

Then, he whirls into action, striking out at the ghosts, fists wreathed in force and flame, he blinks out again, appearing once more behind their Lord, driving his fists into him once more.

Well, the most logical choice would have been invisibility, so the action makes sense in character. At least I should be able to see anyone invisible or ethereal around.

I meant that Alex thought he went invisible, so he was looking for him. Of course, he had no idea he had gone ethereal and then telported away, so I can't change his actions.

IC, you guys know that certain positive energy spells aren't working like they are supposed to. (Marros knows nothing as of yet beyond, "I was captured, and now there are loads of talking undead orcs and ghosts)

OOC: We don't know much more beyond,
    1. It weakens positive energy effects
    2. It supercharges Undead, and gives them intelligence/speech
    3. It apparently eases the creation of undead (ghosts from a distance)

This much is true. Still, I don't like it. And judging from the notes Dranga left behind, it's likely that she won't be around for some time. Sound to me like we will find those notes somewhere as clues as to what to expect.

In a rush of power, the Ghost Lord creates a whirling column of cold and ice, screams into being above Bloodstone, smashing into Therandil and Marros, trying to sap them of their strength. Orcs at present for the sheriffs, and he auto-succeeds to cast defensively, no mage-slayers left.

So in short: Alex's on the ground and negative-leveled
    Yes.

Kurjan is nowhere to be seen, the druid is still there and there are two trolls and a bunch of orcs around, right?
Druid has to be found as well...
The column and his movements have taken him out of immediate sight.
    No, Harley dropped the trolls.
And the orcs are significantly reduced.

Did Alex found Holly or is she still missing?
    Still missing.

Alex jumps out of the way instinctively when he hears the crackling of lightning. He had lost sight of the druid and now he would make sure not make the same mistake twice. He once again takes a careful look at the battlefield, wondering where the undead was hiding. Was he still in bear form or had he changed into another? Perhaps a bird? At least he wouldn't have to worry about invisibility.

PS: feel free to edit my texts when putting them all together. Particularly if they don't match what's happening.

Edit: changed fluff since Alex made his save and updated the Perception check since he didn't got level drained.

    Hey! That's true!

How far was the Ghost Lord from Marros, and how far above the ground is he currently?
30 ft., and there's no way to tell.
The Ice Storm might not be dealing any damage to Marros, but he cannot see through it.
Actually, considering Marros should be falling, the Lord would have been 45 ft. away, with Marros 20 ft. off the ground.

Steeling himself against the cold, Marros opens his eyes. Blazing with magic, he looks around trying to regain his bearings, and find the Ghost Lord that had dogged his steps.

On the subject of exp, what would Marros have started at? Beginning or middle of level 14?

Move: Perception check (1d20+33)[47] Marros has Blindsight 30' (3 rounds remaining) And True Seeing (8 rounds remaining) Lowlight/darkvis too, but I doubt they apply. Looking at the sky first, then (if the ghost lord is not to be found) looking and the ground below.

    Standard (hopefully) to follow.

Don't know if the cold has further effects, but Marros does have endure elements at least.

Could you give us our Perception results so we can add Standard actions?

The druid has been given a wide berth by orc and the rangers, alike. In a low crouch, more black drool drips from the bears teeth, and lightning bolts continue to crackle across dead flesh.
He's about forty feet away from Alex, isolated from combat.

Don't know if the cold has further effects, but Marros does have endure elements at least.
Endure elements doesn’t provide any protection from fire or cold damage, nor does it protect against other environmental hazards such as smoke, lack of air, and so forth.

Could you give us our Perception results so we can add Standard actions?

From above, Marros finds it impossible to see.
Though the cold and ice of the storm doesn't touch him, the spell blocks his sight...
If the ghost is near, or even the necromancer, he can't hear him...

Blocking out the cold, Marros steps between the hail, and reappears atop the fortress keep, drawing his Oathbow from his pack, still scanning the sky.
