Sleet follows Kale, but walks alongside Marty so as to ask him semi-sweetly just to be sure, you ARE going to let me return her to her family again, aren't you? You can't help her. She places a hand on Marty's shoulder. I know you want to, but you can't. She has to go home.

I have a plan. Marty seems rather cold shouldered. Hes new to the feeling

Heading away from civilization

Sleet does not look happy with his answer at all. She presses her lips firmly together and quickens her stride, moving away from the half-elf who is really beginning to get on her nerves.

Sleet isn't looking at Marty so doesn't notice the tears. A look of dedication is on her face now and her pace has quickened until she almost skims over the ground. She's intent on the chase now. Are we nearing the jungle? She asks Marty without turning.

Sleet stops at the edge, looking up at it wonderingly. I've never seen one before. She's a little unnerved by the sheer amount of foliage in the jungle, the thickness of the air which she can feel even at the edge, the unfriendly shadows at every turn. Are you telling me that Shada made it through that, on her own? Impressive.

Chez snorted. So many Trees. Must... Resist... Lupine... Urges....

Sleet stops at the edge, looking up at it wonderingly. I've never seen one before. She's a little unnerved by the sheer amount of foliage in the jungle, the thickness of the air which she can feel even at the edge, the unfriendly shadows at every turn. Are you telling me that Shada made it through that, on her own? Impressive.

Marty trudged on. Shadas tough.

[Jungle's edge]

Before following Marty, Sleet does two things. One involves giving Chez a distasteful look when he starts smoking and hoping that he will properly put it out and not set the jungle aflame, especially as that would ruin her chances of reaching Shada pretty well.

The second is drawing her bejeweled greatsword and gripping it tightly. As she enters she feels more than a little open. She dislikes the jungle, as she knows any number of creatures could be hiding there, watching her without her knowledge.

At the Jungle's Edge

"Really? An elf, never seen a jungle? Heh. I was born in wonna these." Kale says, smirking confidently as he strides forward into the overgrown forest, pickaxe at the ready.

[Chezmarine]

Chez tosses the Cigar over his Shoulder and into the Dirt. He Reaches into his Holster an Pulls out a Chrome Plated M-1911 with a Paw engraved into the Handle. He Checks the Clip and then Pulls the Slide Back.

"Let's Rock." He Grunts.

[Hattish Thing]

Marty keeps walking for 5 miles.

I was born and raised underground, Sleet tells Kale. She's walking much slower now, jumping at every small sound and often whirling around, trying to see all around her at once. This is not the environment I'm used to. I keep expecting something to jump out at me.

As Sleet is not looking where she is going, she almost crashes into Marty. What? What is it? She says, twisting. Why have you stopped? Are you alright?

A dart is protruding from his chest. He looks bad.

Chez was already a Bit Trigger Happy, So now he's Pointing the Gun at the Darts Most Probable Point of Origin Based on it's Trajectory.

"You were raised underground? By who? I mean, uh, I don't mean ta be rude, but- Whatever explanation Kale had is cut short as they run into, well, whatever it is they run into. He freezes, subtly adjusting his footing to prepare for combat. "Nobody make a move 'till it does."

Too Late. Chez ignored his Warning and Squeezed his Paw Around the Trigger.

He Squeezes off a Few More Rounds.

Sleet either heard Kale too late, purposely disregarded him, or her instinct to help others is too strong, for she grabs Marty in an attempt to drag him behind a tree and away from whatever is shooting.

Ermine knows she should never trust her fellow pirates. She has had a mutiny on her paws once before, after all.

He totally lies though. He thrives off of excitement too much.

Well, that right screwed any chance of spotting the attacker. Kale dives into a nearby ditch, rolling onto his feet and crouching behind the cover afforded by the incline as he reaches for the knife on his belt.
