"Ah. Thank you." Reinholdt says, smiling and giving a head nod before he goes to take a sip of water.

"How have you and your sister been doing?" He asks Estia, while letting Ermine answer Lyanna's question.

Estia smiles. We've been doing real good. Melody's been teaching us how to heal people. But.... and now she frowns and leans forward to whisper into Reinholdt's ear. She doesn't give us any sweets.

But other than that, we're really happy here. Well, um, I mean, we're doing great. she says, blushing.

"Tanks."

Ermine takes a drink of water, then grins and tips her hat to Lyanna.

"Aye, I am a pirate."

Where's your parrot? Why don't you have a wooden leg? Then she gasps, eye going big. Do you!? she quickly ducks under the table to search Ermine's legs.

Ermine's legs are completely human! Well, at the moment. Sometimes they're completely ermine. The pirate flicks her ears in confusion.

"Arr, I don' 'ave a parrot. 'r a wooden leg. I've seen other pirates wit' em, o' course, but... ye don't actually need em ta be one."

It's not a requirement! Ermine doesn't have an eyepatch, either. She does have a floofy hat, though. And pirate-y clothing, I guess. And an accent! That's the most important part.

Nope! No more exits have been revealed! Just that one on the wall opposite the route by which Zero entered. It does appear as though this exit has swung open an inch or two, however. Soft blue eyes peer out from the empty space between the door and its frame. They are more inquisitive and playful than insidious and fearsome.

Odd.

Zero takes a few cautious steps towards the blue eyes. He does his best to look like he doesn't want to fight. As he steps forward, Zero tries to get a better look at the eyes.

"Oooooh. We'll have to fix that won't we?" Reinholdt says, giving Estia a mischievous wink. Obviously much candy, cookies, and cake must be brought here!

Estia smiles mischieviously and nods her head once. Come on, Lyanna. She takes Lyanna's hand, interuppting her next question. Melody said to leave them alone.

And the pair of them head into the back, Jezebelle comes out with a serving tray. She places a plate of grilled fish before Ermine, and another before Reinholdt.

On each plate is three small fishes, a large scoop of corn, and mashed potatoes. She places a small bowl of cole slaw above each plate.

In the center, she places a gravy boat, a bowl of butter, a bowl of sour cream, and a smaller dish of chives. And then places a napkin wrapped set of silverware next to each plate. Melody will be out shortly with your drinks. She says she has whiskey and wine now, but no rum. So if you'd like either of those?

Before I was born, my parents were in a caravan, moving away from expanding human borders and the associated rise in human bandits, theives, rapists and similar scum that thrive where humans prosper. During the journey, they were attacked. The sole survivor was my mother, and she was enslaved. When I was forty, I was sold to a temple who refused me entry into the priesthood, despite the fact I asked annually from the ages of eighty to one hundred and twenty five, when I escaped. That is when I was approached by Dalachrech, and joined His clergy." Elezibethele sounds furious, and she looks it too. She's left something out of this particular tale, however; the captors were drow, rather than the humans she intends Mine to believe were responsible.

Mine is headed for significantly more than a beating, I fear.

"Well, somebody in Inside would probably be more profitable in monetary terms, but Riverside is where people vulnerable to blackmail are likely to reside. I rarely visit either city, however, and don't know anybody in particular worth bringing down to your level. So no, nobody in particular to start with." Azurelle would prefer somebody young, attractive, and female, or somebody with young, attractive and female relatives that could be claimed as a prize.

Mine isn't about to be silenced by this bigot! He's had it with Elezibethele! First she burns his innards with an iron rod! Then she threatens his companions with death, which wasn't unexpected in the least! But next up on her agenda was to convince Mine that genocide was acceptable! Mine has associated with all kinds. One of his best friends was human, for Pete's sake! Usually, Mine is the epitome of passiveness! You can kick him, lie to him, yell at him, and he won't raise a hand against you. But certain people... Certain cretins really know how to press his buttons. He knows that Elezibethele views him as an inferior. He views Elezibethele as sub-elf.

What a tragic tale and what a hypocrite you are! You say you suffered as a slave and now you keep your own set of them? You say your own mother was captured and forced to serve. There's a chance, then, that you and I are related, not that that amounts to much, all things taken into consideration."

"How can you hold grudges against a party of humans for enslaving you if you fund them and their atrocious practices now? Where is the sense in that?"

"Maybe I say these things because I am young and daft. Maybe I say them because they are true."

"It is left to you to decide. Do you let your life be ruled by your ire? Do you allow those who oppressed you to possess that much control over you still? If the past isn't accepted as the past, then you remain chained to it, bound hand and foot like an animal in a snare. And if you choose to waste your life on vengeance powered by your animosity for a long forgotten offense, then I am truly sorry for you, for you will live life without ever having lived."

Mine isn't primarily channeling anger into his words. Instead, he only acts as though he is essentially merely stating indisputable facts.

Mine should probably start treating Elezibethele like normal slaves treat their masters. In other words, Mine should begin scheming against her!

A dark look settles upon Toy's face at the remark about her level. She resents that, and she'll, without a doubt, remember it when she finally takes down Azurelle a couple of notches. Not yet, though. Not yet.

Hmm... Who to abduct?

"Well then, sounds like we've got some scouting to do."

Toy chuckles evilly! Everything is falling into place! Soon they'll all pay! All of them!

The eyes withdraw into the corner of the chamber adjoining the one Zero is currently standing in! They belong to a wolf of the same coloration and size as the one Valaira transformed into back at GLoG! As it retreats, Zero might be able to hear it whimper.

"Leave me alone."

Hey! It even sounds like Valaira! Exactly like Valaira!

Zero stops moving forward, not wanting to upset the wolf that sounds like Valaira. Since, there is a chance he won't have to fight Zero decides to try to talk to the wolf.

Hermitage of Dalachrech- Elezibethele

Elezibethele will grab at the lead attached to Mine's collar and walk towards the door. She doesn't say anything, but is going to try and drag him out, and towards the torture chamber. She won't even bother to close the door behind her, just walk quickly and firmly towards the torture chamber. She's not saying anything, but she looks absolutely livid. I suspect Mine has gone too far.

"Indeed. I think Riverside first; shouldn't be too hard to find somebody with secrets they want kept there." Since I believe this is just after they slept and both are nude, Azurelle will go to the wardrobe and puts on some leather breeches and a chainmail shirt. Toy will be thrown a simple, form-fitting dress with loose sleeves and some simple shoes.

Ermine blinks, flicking her ears in confusion when Lyanna is dragged away. Okay... She turns to Jezebelle.

"Oh, I'll have tha whiskey."

The pirate smiles, then glances at Reinholdt. Hmm... wait...

"Actually, tha wine. Tank'ee again."

It's much more romantic! Ermine now turns her attention to the food, which she seems to approve of. Looks good.

[Reinholdt]

[Melody's Island - Barn]

Reinholdt raises an eyebrow at the choice change.
"Yeah, the wine will be fine. Thank you."

He tells Jezebelle.

Jezebelle goes back, and a moment later Melody reappears with two regular glasses and the bottle of wine. Here ya go. She says with a smile, and begins pouring it into each glass, filling them unless told to stop.

Ermine, with a grin, allows Melody to fill her glass up. The pirate takes a small sip immediately and nods appreciatively at the smurf.

"Dis looks like a wonderful meal."

If there is nothing left to do, I suppose she'll start eating.

"That's good." Reinholdt says, telling Melody when to stop.

"You've really outdone yourself tonight." He says. It's quite awkward and touching to think they went to all this trouble for the two of them.

Melopdy smiles brightly. Jezebelle, Estia, and Lyanna did most of the work. I just told them you were coming. They wanted to show their appreciation for all you've done for them. Melody bows slightly. Enjoy your dinner. If you need anything, just think it to me. She then heads to the back.

Ermine smiles, nods, and starts enjoying the food! The absent-minded pirate doesn't even notice Melody specifying "think"ing requests to her.

"Will do." Reinholdt says to Melody before turning to eat his food as well.

He glances at Ermine and sips some of his wine. "So... how do you like it?"

He drops the hair in the potion. Pssh. He then drinks the potion and retrieves a map out of his backpack. Shes far. In a jungle west of here. Marty thinks.

Kale follows Sleet out the door, sticking close to her while mostly ignoring the others. He'll wait until Marty and Griktak are distracted, then lean close to whisper in her ear. "Gotta say, you were right b'fore... Our 'friends' seem as mad 's hatters." He says, making sure no-one can read his lips.

Yes, I'm a little worried about what they'll do when we actually find Shada. Sleet whispers back to kale. To Marty she instead says, Can I ask you a strange question? Why did you name her 'Shada' of all things?

Ah. Sleet is silent and reflects upon this for a moment. When she speaks it is slow and thoughtful. Then you find Shada beautiful. I must say, when I last met her, 'beauty' is not a word that popped into my mind. Malnourished, short, yes, those seemed like better words. The poor darling.

I would have helped her heal. Obviously she was too freaked out. I will still help her. She can be healed. Griktak is skilled.

Marty's words make Kale stop and think as well, albeit for different reasons. "Just, uh, figgered I'd remind you that we're sendin her back to her family. I'm sure they can give her all the help she needs." He says to Marty, doing his best to keep a friendly expression while all the while wondering just how crazy this half-breed fellow is... All signs point to pretty damn crazy, and everything he says makes Kale trust him less and less.
