Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
Because I'm very lazy. Also, when I think of things to draw, I usually choose something way beyond what I actually can even attempt and then get disappointed when I've wasted a lot of time and produced nothing close to what I wanted. With the ED ATG I hope to receive simple guidelines, get simple ideas, get them finished, get better at drawing and feel good about it. That's the plan, at least.
I wonder when the submission site goes up, I have my day 1 result ready:

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
I'm going to vote for trading card game because I luvs me some of those. Bonus points if your game is something that only takes 5-10 minutes to play, then people can play them at cons while waiting for panels and whatnot. Super bonus points if it's designed in such a way that it can be played from your seats.
Also, right! We met! Briefly! We really do need to find time for a group hang-out or something next time.
Huzzah! I was trying to figure out how to do the intro song, but fail at such things. Was hoping someone around here would do it.

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
Squirrel Girl appeared, along with fellow Great Lakes Avenger Flatman, on episode 18 of Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, very briefly, when they were holding open auditions for a replacement for The Thing (he had been cured). I can't seem to find the clip on YouTube anymore unfortunately, but the entire series is available on NetFlix Streaming right now.
Also, I totally would have called out the whole "Arthur is not a bunny!" thing if I had seen it sooner.

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
I don't know how many ponies here might have participated in the herd census but they have apparently released their results. Link.
Out of 9015 respondents Twilight Sparkle was the favorite pony, followed by Fluttershy then a big drop to Pinkie, Dashie, Rarity, (Other), Luna, and AJ as a the least popular Mane Six. And Derpy was right after AJ.

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
So the average brony is a 21-29 year old unmarried American male with some college education who was introduced to the franchise with FiM, collects toys (and maybe clothing), is public with his bronydom, has influenced friends to become bronies, and has Twilight Sparkle as his favorite pony. Good to know.
And the complete opposite is a 60+ widow from New Zealand with a doctoral degree who has not publically admitted being a brony (but has turned her grandchildren into fans), started watching with G2, buys the DVDs, and has Braeburn as her favorite pony. We need those as well!Last edited by Athaniar; 2012-01-10 at 02:49 PM.

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
Oh hey AOTRS You might get a kick out of this!
SpoilerSo I was playing the Nod campaign of Command and Conquer 3 today. (I beat GDI yesterday.) I was on about the third mission-the one where you capture the white house. This level gives you no construction yard, and the fanciest units you get are Shadows.
I decided to capture and sell the enemy buildings rather than blow them up-capturing is kinda my thing. Imagine my joy when the war factory is allowed to build a GDI MCV!
So I do, and I deploy it.
...the GDI tech tree is utterly unlocked.
All of it.
So, obviously, I have only one choice.
I build an Ion Cannon and I shoot the white house with GDI's own space laser.
FOR THE TECHNOLOGY OF PEACE
PEACE THROUGH POWER
(Has a plan to crossbreed Tyranids, Zerg and Slivers)
What could possibly go wrong?
(Puts on her singing hat)
Doesn't quite scan. Pony is two syllables, Tyranid is three. I'd suggest swarm. 'My little swaaarm!' is easier to stretch to two than tyranid condenses to two.

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
That's pretty much me, with the sole exceptions that I'm not American and haven't really converted anyone. And I'm only within that age group for one more year. Oh and I still haven't got any pony clothes I really, really want some, but I seriously can't afford welovefine's prices, +100% in shipping is outrageous.
Also only have a few toys, they apparently only sold pony toys for a brief time around here, then it kinda vanished with the exception of a rather curious sea pony set that I've been tempted to buy.

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
Heck i'll even sing a verse or two (i'd do the entire song, but i guarantee it would sound awful.)
Throw in the Xenomorphs from the "Alien" movie series and explain to me what Silvers are, and i'll help out in any way i can.

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
Mhm. xD
Probably cause you have to capture war factory, build MCV, deploy MCV, build tech centre, build ion cannon, wait six minutes while nothing on the map is left to do, and then fire it on your own buildings to end. xD Worth it for style points though.
Related on capture nod kill: Final GDI mission? I blew the Scrin base up with Venoms after attacking with annihilator tripods.
Slivers are an adorable swarm from magic: the gathering.
Just say tyranid quickly? :PRecent Homebrew: The Socialite | The Crystalline: Memory Altering Construct Race | Sanguine Hand, a ToB Discipline of blood and cruelty

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
Slivers are a race from MTG. Their big thing is that each type of Sliver has an ability that is granted to all other Slivers near them, and are part of a hivemind swarm thing. Think Tyranid except they're capable of evolving significantly faster simply by creating a single new type of Sliver and having it join the rest of the army.

I'm glad you like it! ^^ I read through the early parts again to make sure I got it right. When I get the chance I'll read the rest. Also may colour that pic at some point.
So, I've decided to take part in the EqD training thing. Here's my submission for day one, a pony in armour:

So yeah.I took my 'time to leave work' nap with my earphones in.
I wake up with the image of a deadlocked pony singing about fruits and vegetables. Has anyone done pony reggae yet, mon?

Re: My Little Pony XXXV: The Thread Everypony Should Know
This means that by combining slivers (which grant their powers to those around), tyranids (which get the powers of stuff they eat) and zerg (which direct their mutation on a spontaneous level to best fit the circumstances, I can start out with ten gaunts, have one mutate into a carnifex, one into a gargoyle, and one into a zoanthrope, and suddenly I have ten flying psychic tank-nids.
Sure it does!Last edited by Lix Lorn; 2012-01-10 at 05:01 PM.
