Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
MEANWHILE, two new character ideas OHGODITNEVERENDS. DX
Luckily, I've decided that Skal (screw it I'm not going to bother to spell her name properly) doesn't count as a character anymore because I must have taken some sort of brain damage whem I thought of her.
Also, new characters: totally based off the Harry Potter universe, so expect to see wand waving and terrible Latin. Though they both know how to cast silently, so maybe not that much terrible Latin. >.>
All above information subject to changing whims of course. So maybe Skal (nope still not gonna spell her name correctly) does get a chance to live?Originally Posted by Lord Magtok

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
I know I'd get pretty tired of copy-pasting that pecuilar "a" over and over again.
Speaking of character ideas, it's pretty funny, really, that I seem to get very few of them compared to most people, and I also tend to stick to my existing character much longer than most as well. The only character I've ever discarded was Mark... and a proto-version of Michalson I made when I began playing here. Of course, I do get spontaneous ideas sometimes, I just don't act on them. I've had two "wouldn't it be cool if..." characters: Sophie has worked out very well and Anatolij would have been scrapped if I hadn't had him join Mortal Coil.
Now, ramblings aside, I suppose I should post in Serious Plots for the demon-hunting, unless Happy wants it to be arranged OOC first. But I don't think Darcy would say anything other than "Count me in!!111"Last edited by Morty; 2012-01-06 at 11:27 AM.

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
Well, I feel justified in (finally) posting Thessa at least, as she's been a looooooong time coming. I've revised and re-edited her character so much it's unbelievable. I think the only trait all the different versions have shared, really, are that they're female, good at magic, have green speech, have a raven-themed assisstant/familiar/person/thingy, and are a BBEG. In appearance and general outlook, however, WOAH NELLY. She's been a KR-from-an-alternate-future, a goddess, a titan, a lich, a demi-lich, a titan demi-lich, it's incredible.
I mean, look at the green hooded figure in my sig (an early version of Thessa), and then look at her description in the Arcanus thread.
...

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
I have apparently caught my roommate's 24 hour flu. But I just have to one-up everybody, so it's been 32 hours and counting. Hopefully this ends before tomorrow, as I really don't want to spend my birthday sick. So don't expect any posts from me any time soon.

Really? I have to hold Alt if I want to use Polish fonts like ą ę or ź on my laptop. Never heard of any keyboard that'd have them built in either.

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
I get pretty much the same way. The only one of my characters that I've actually discarded was Oblivion, due to popular demand. And you just KNOW you've done something wrong if virtually every other player in a game as large as Nexus is asking you to either drop the character or permanently power the character down.
Of course, that still doesn't stop me from deadtiming characters for long periods of time, but they come back eventually! (See: Jacques, Despair, Sarah, Curiosity, Duty...)

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
Chez, this is just getting ridiculous.
So far Chez (the character) has basically reduced every "obstacle" in the Jungle plot to a bad joke, effortlessly and instantly slaughtering anything and everything without so much as taking a scratch, and now it looks like you're planning on doing the same to the other characters. He's a frakkin godling in a plot with almost entirely low-level characters, and he needs to be powered down so the others actually stand a chance.Meese Mobster by smuchmuch.

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
Powering him down. I dunno, he's a wolf, maybe he only has superpowers when there's a full moon out and the rest of the time he's just fairly strong, doesn't really matter how you do it, just that you aren't having a god-level character attack mundanes. Cause, seriously, you shouldn't do that.

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
General powering-down? Reducing his arsenal to lower-powered weapons might help, downplaying the prodigious strength might help, and mitigating the healing factor will help more than you think.
That said, TE, a sleeper hold is one of those things that's hard to deal with in an FFRP. It either works, or it doesn't, and thus that limits the person being attacked to either instantly losing the fight due to unconsciousness or victoriously overcoming their attacker and suffering virtually no lasting problems.
EDIT: If nothing else, a 16-foot-tall character should be having a lot of difficulty maneuvering in a typical cave, considering that such a height puts Chez at about the height of three men standing on each other's shoulders. He would have to be bent over at 90 degrees just to walk in a typical cave, much less fight...Last edited by BladeofObliviom; 2012-01-07 at 03:56 AM.

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
Okay, in regards of reducing Chez's weapons cache, How should i reduce it? SPEC-OPS Grade? Or Military? SWAT? Law Enforcement? Civilian?
I'm thinking it'd be cool to have it so that after repeated abuse, Chez regenerated less and Less, So he'd eventually end up looking like a Rot Wolf.
In regards to strength, i could probably give Chez only the Strength of a Human Wrestler/Bodybuilder, and because of his Size, he could lift an SUV.
Of Course, He's Currently at the Point Where he can bench press an M1-A MBT with out breaking a sweat....

Re: [Nexus] OOC 28: Something to do with Mayans
Depends on whether you go for the jugular veins or the windpipe itself, actually. Carotid restraint (IE, compressing the jugulars and carotid arteries) is the type that knocks people out near-instantly, while literal "chokeholds", which cut off the breathe, take a while and are basically a fancy way to strangle someone. In this case, Kale wouldn't have the slightest clue if Chez even has jugulars, so he's going for the latter.
@Chez: Law enforcement level, probably. As long as he isn't slinging around gattling guns, gattling shotguns, rocket launchers and gattling rocket launchers.Meese Mobster by smuchmuch.
