    Behold, Moarzed.

    Spoiler
    Show

    Name: Moarzed, a.k.a Caine Blake
    Race/Flavor/Type: Buffyverse Demon
    Age: 412 (at least)
    Height: 6'0''
    Weight: 140 lbs
    Abilities:
    Spoiler
    Show
As human as he looks, some forget that Moarzed is, in fact, a demon. He isn't much stronger than a human, but he's devilishly fast and dextrous, weaving exquisite patterns with his rapier and dodging blows. As well as being quick, Moarzed is very, very difficult to kill. He can feel pain like anyone else, but he has a healing factor that allows even severed limbs to reattach if held near where they were removed from. So far, the only theory regarding killing him suggests removing his heart, not merely staking it, but removing it from the rest of the body.
Also, as a method of self-preservation, Moarzed gets an uneasy feeling around Slayers who he isn't familiar with. The downside to this effect is that Slayers who come near him get a peculiar feeling about the young man.
In addition to his demonic abilities, Moarzed is an excellent swordsman, particularly with the rapier. The level of finesse it requires complements his capabilities, and extends his reach beyond most enemies. His skill was used to train the former Slayer Mimi Watford. Moarzed also plays guitar.

    Physical Description:
    Spoiler
    Show
Moarzed, or, rather, Caine Blake, is a young man who stands around 6 feet, weighing in at around 140 pounds. He is not muscular by any stretch of the imagination, but is fairly average in build as men his age go. He has black hair that usually reaches somewhere about halfway down his neck, with sides that cover the tips of his ears and bangs that he usually brushes to the side, else they hang in front of his eyes. On the topic of his eyes, they might be the only unusual part of his appearance. At a glance, not much can be determined as different. But those who stare at him long enough find themselves surprised to find that they change colors, slowly, over time. They seem to alternate based on Caine's mood, mainly a calm green. Caine has a flawless smile, albeit with slightly exaggerated canines. The man has two piercings on his left ear, which he usually fills with small, simple, iron studs. He has a tattoo of a chain around his right calf, with two tags tattooed on the chain, hanging from it. On the first tag, the words “Maria-1601” are written. On the second, the words “Mimi-1912” are written, in a different font. Caine speaks with a British accent, and appears to be in his late teens. He usually dresses in jeans and a t-shirt of some kind, often of some band, be it local or from the American rock and roll scene of the 80's and 90's.

    Personality:
    Spoiler
    Show
Moarzed is personable and open for the most part, but has a strong hatred for the self-important and haughty. More than that, he despises vampires. He considers them a waste of potential, both for the human and the demon. He respects the great potential that the human race exhibits, and concedes that, if not limited to one Slayer, they would have driven evil from the world long ago.
Moarzed's disposition towards the Slayer varies on a case by case basis. He will defend himself, to be sure, as represented by his first Slayer kill. He also holds a grudge, as his second Slayer kill shows. Overall, the demon considers the Slayer as a chance for the human race to prove themselves as worthy creatures, as the Slayer is suppose to epitomize what is good about the human race.
Generally, Moarzed identifies with humans rather than demons. As long as the Slayer doesn't attack him or insult him, than he has no trouble not only protecting them, but working alongside them.
The young man enjoys sitting back behind the bar, playing his guitar and humming, taking orders and flashing pretty girls smiles, serving drinks with plates of charm.

Backstory: This one is probably way longer than it needs to be. But, hey, he's got a lot of history and I had too much time while watching Buffy. Read at your own risk.

Moarzed's origins are unknown, but occultists can define that he is a demon that originated in a union between human and demon, which most assume to have taken place sometime during the Renaissance in England. Moarzed was noted as a particularly destructive entity after several attacks on mortals who thought his changing eyes were a sign that he was a warlock, and was targeted in 1601 by a Watcher named Rocco Bonetti, an Italian sword master who some consider to be the father of modern fencing. Accompanying Bonetti was the Slayer of that time, a young girl named Maria Damascus. The demon killed both of them, starting with the Slayer. Bonetti died slower. The demon himself was a practitioner of the rapier, and drew his fight out with the Watcher for two days so that he could analyze his skills.
After Bonetti inevitably gave out from blood loss, Moarzed fled north, to Ireland. He was pursued by an order of 50 priests, who chased the demon into a cave. Cornered inside the cave, which was later known as the Marble Arch Cave, the priests attacked and subdued the demon, albeit at great loss of life. However, the remaining priests were not equipped with the tools to slay the demon. However, each priest had been carrying a silver stake, which the remaining holy men put to use. 50 stakes were pounded into Moarzed's body, pinning him to the floor of the remotest depths or the cave, where the priests left him for the insects to feed on, hoping to return later to put him to rest properly (a vow that was quickly forgotten after a few flagons of ale at the local brewery).
Moarzed was trapped in Marble Arch Cave for 260 years, until April 19th of 1861. Thankfully for the demon, a 14 year old Irishman named Abraham stumbled into the cave, quickly getting lost in the winding passages. After hours of searching for the exit, the distraught child came into a chamber littered with skeletons, as well as one man, perfectly preserved, pinned to the ground by metal stakes. By lantern light, the man begged Abraham to come closer, to hear his tale of woe. Moarzed promised the boy a way out of the cave, if only he'd remove the stakes and set him free. In addition, the demon swore that for every stake Abraham removed, he would prevent his death one year, for surely the child would die in this cave without his help.
Abraham agreed, and set Moarzed free.
The demon became Abraham's closest friend, bodyguard, and personal assistant as his life went on. As he grew up, young Abraham began questioning his servant's origin, and the demon revealed his true nature, telling his master tales of the occult. The young writer became enthralled with the occult, and, along with Moarzed's guidance, wrote a novel called “Dracula”, based on tales his demonic companion related to him. The two were inseparable, brothers in arms, taking on all the world threw at them.
Stoker's interest in the occult eventually led him to become a Watcher, and in his later life the guardian of the Slayer Mimi Watford, who later became a character in his final novel “The Lair of the White Worm”. During the three years Moarzed served with Watford and Stoker, many associates of the three noticed that the Demon and the Slayer exercised a perpetual distaste for the other, barely held in check by the Watcher Stoker. Watford often tortured her demonic counterpart, calling him “unwanted cast off” and “horned bastard”, and commented on his questionable lineage and abandonment by both humans and demons. To her comments, Moarzed never audibly responded. Stoker forbid him to lay a hand on the Slayer, and the demon complied, obliged to serve.
In 1912, when Stoker was 64, Moarzed's service to the mortal had ended. The two bid a fond farewell, Moarzed stating his intention to travel to America. Before he left, Watford delivered one last jab about him, stating “Good then, get out. We never wanted you here anyway, you damned demon!”
The first outing without the demon took place the next day, when Stoker and Watford entered a residence at No.26, St George's Square, pursuing an unknown supernatural. Neither was ever seen alive again.
Officially, Stoker was found, dead, of late-stage syphilis. In fact, he was found, strangled, in an armchair in No.26. Watford was never officially found, but off the record, she was uncovered shortly after Stoker in the bathroom at No.26. The Slayer was brutally murdered and dismembered, found in the bathtub, bathing in her own blood. The exact details of the scene were not recorded for posterity, Watchers of the time commenting that “Ms. Watford's murder was so complete and brutal, that no human can safely describe or comprehend the thoroughness of the killer.” Moarzed was officially recorded as on a ship to America at the time, but occultists of the day suggested that the vengeful demon may have been involved.
Until the mid 1980's, Moarzed's whereabouts were virtually unknown. Four photographs exist that suggest his activities during these nearly 80 years. Each depicts the same man, but in different eras and always appearing the same. One is of a line of unemployed men during the Depression, of which Moarzed is one. The next is in an American trench during World War One. The next shows a POW camp in Germany, also featuring the demon off to one side. The final picture is now a piece of classified military material, because, along with the demon, it depicts four Cold War Specs Ops operatives at a military base, boarding an aircraft headed for unknown targets.
After such a long absence, Moarzed was drawn out to Seattle, Washington during the 1980's by the Grunge Rock movement. Learning to play the guitar, the demon played with smaller dive bar acts, before playing one night only as the opener for Nirvana with an act called Hangman's Joke in the late 80's, before being approached by artist James O'Barr, who wanted to use the band's likeness and name in his comic, “The Crow”. After agreeing, Moarzed became the inspiration for the title character, Eric Draven.
After the newest Slayer began pursuing Moarzed, the demon fled north to Canada. Ever since, he's been wandering the great white north, and, at the start of the game, starts classes at [LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL] as a senior.
Now Moarzed is the coffee distributor and waiter at the local coffee bar/nightclub. In the morning, it's a coffee bar called Black Cat's. Around 8, the sign is turned around, tables moved, and the coffee bar becomes the nightclub, Voodoo Doll's. The establishment is owned by two sisters, Cat and Doll France, who hired Caine Blake based on his commitment to work days and nights several days a week, as well as the young man's work ethic.
The tattoo on his leg represents the two Slayers he's killed, while his two ear piercings represent the two Watchers he's killed. He doesn't like talking about it. He lives in the apartment above Black Cat's/Voodoo Doll's, alone, except for a stray black cat named Schrodinger. He doesn't like it very much, but the France Sisters are stalwart on the fact that it boosts business, since it occasionally comes downstairs through a cardboard flap in Moarzed's door.

Yeah, all those names and dates? Totally fact-checked. NERD ALERT.

EDIT: Named changed from Morgan to Caine to avoid confusion, as well as slight lowering of age bracket and placing him as the assistant librarian at the local high school, a la Giles.
Let's face it. He's demon Giles.

EDIT OF EDIT: Changed to a high school senior, didn't like the librarian thing. Also, for continuity, changed from a bartender to waiter at Voodoo Doll's.

    Name: Red Eyes
    Age: 60 years old
    Height: 5'9
    Weight: 170 pounds
    Abilities:
Shamanism: May perform quick spells or longer ritualistic magic.
Beast-Totems: Takes the form of various Native American spirit animals.
Enhanced Physical Body: Yes he's 60 years old, but he's in his prime, and is equal to a Buffy Vamp in pure physical abilities.
Supernatural Skill: He's supernaturally skilled in hand to hand, and with Native American weapons.

Physical Description:A fit, powerfuly built man who appears to be 30. Despite this, he claims in the mundane world he has an active life-style, and consumes herbs and balms to appear young. He still has white hair, however.
Personality: Red Eyes is an experienced warrior. In the Vietnam war he fought and seemingly "Died" from an explosion. His body was left alone and he wasn't taken home by the Army. He was nursed to health by American sympathizers and he found his way home through a Spirit Walk. He had many visions and underwent a Spirit Walk that lasted for seven years, wandering throughout Eurasia until he reached the UK, and finally regained his memories and returned home to America, with all of his newly found powers gained from the Spirit World.

His Spirit Walk left him with a brand new personality. He likes to teach those who want to listen in things such as survival, hand to hand, and occasionally Shamanism and the arts of his Tribe, the Firebird tribe. He's proudly patriotic of America.

    Backstory:
Red Eyes returned to America a changed man, and changed from a likable but occasionally bad-tempered man into a genuinely wise man. He has occasionally fought evil spirits, demons and very few vampires (He still doesn't quite "get it" when it comes to Vampires), but he has come across the Master on one occasion. The Master kidnapped one of Red Eyes'es spirit guides, the Voiceless One, and has kept him hidden. (I assume the Master is dead at this point, but Red Eyes never discovered The Master's location.) He lives a happy life, but he hasn't forgotten about Voiceless One.

    Codger mystic

    Name: Morgon Nala
    Age: 32
    Height: 6 foot.
    Weight: 60kg.
Abilities: Eidetic Memory. Wizard. Standard Demon toughness and strength.

Physical Description: Like all Codger demons, Morgon is repulsive. Wrinkly baggy skin of a yellowy orange colour covers him, and pale white eyes look to be that of a blind albino. He is however, tall, but surprisingly light.

Personality: Morgon is of a slightly selfish type. Looking out more for himself than others (comes from living amongst mostly demons) however he has a desire to be useful, rather than just something shunned in the darkness. Having an eidetic memory, he has quite naturally become a know it all.
Like all Codgers with the slightest interest in the dark arts, Morgon knows how to use magic, and has more than a few rituals well and truly memorised. He can remember anything he has ever encountered in under 10 minutes of meditation, combined with a voracious appetite for books (his own, not racial) he is, in some ways, a walking library. However, you should double check the facts, because a perfectly remembered lie is still a lie.

    Name: Karen Sanders
    Age: 17
    Height: 5'4
    Weight: 115 pds
Abilities: Gymnast, Fencer, Above Average Student, Blessed and Cursed (Will Explain Below)
Physical Description: Fiery medium length hair pulled back into a ponytail, athletic/toned build, peach colored skin, olive green eyes.
Personality: Karen is a friendly, popular girl, usually with a smile on her face or a skip in her step. Despite this, she has few close friends- but when she makes one she develops strong bonds of loyalty with the other person.

Backstory: As a normal person, her story isn't very different from others. Her parents were born in the United States, and immigrated north when her dad got a better job with a Canadian Company, and her mother found work as editor of a local newspaper. That's it as of now, Karen goes to school and excels in her studies. She continues her after school activities- never knowing, never sensing the evil that exists right beneath the surface of her new home town.

    Blessing/Curse:
    Spoiler
    Show
Karen is like Cordelia and Xander mixed luck-wise. Blessed with the sense that while she doesn't have real skills, she will luck out, maybe trip at the right time to avoid an axe, and so forth. She is cursed with the same luck- less of bad mistakes and more of body horror. Transformations and the like that change her body or mind just seem to happen to her, like she was some sort of plot device. Not all of these transformations will be fully reversible. I'm thinking this cursed blessing is an actual magical effect, put on her family generations ago. This can be explored later.
She's Shona Han. Disappearing for a hundred years just means she's had a hundred years to plan. Trying to find out what happened to her is just going to draw her attention.

    Name: Malachi
    Age: 457
    Height- 5'3"
    Weight- 100 lbs
    Abilities-

Vampire Master A title used to describe any vampire who achieves control of a significant number of other vampires. Malachi has all of the usual strengths and vulnerabilities associated with vampires. However, as a vampire who has pushed himself to his limits and to overcome other vampires, he is better able to cope with some of these weaknesses. Though holy water and crosses still burn him, he is able to deal with the pain and overcome his instinctual repulsion.

Necrophage One of the sobriquets bequeathed on him by other vampires. Feeding on the blood of his own kind has robbed him of much of his mental stability, but increased his strength and speed and made him extremely hard to kill.

Regent of the Night This title, only used by Malachi and his followers, refers to Malachi's claim to be given rule over the night and its creatures by the being he refers to as He That Was and Will Be. Malachi claims that this being is the source of his ability to manipulate the weather as well as the minds of nocturnal creatures. Animals he is able to control completely, though not en masse, while more intelligent creatures such as vampires he can only influence. This ability is believed by several occult historians to account for his ability to attract and control vampiric followers, despite his noted instability.

Personality: Malachi's personality is erratic. During his calmer periods, he is erudite and intensely charismatic. He is very well versed in demonology, religion, history, and the occult, as well as having an intuitive grasp of vampiric psychology. During his less calm moments, he is known to rant and to strike down anyone foolish enough to come within his reach, occasionally turning on himself when no such victim was available.

He was turned sometime in the seventeenth century, and spent the first part of it merrily slaughtering his way across Europe. Eventually an angry mob in France rousted him from his hideout near dawn, and he only escaped immolation by fleeing into a series of caves. The mob, unwilling to pursue him into the dark, settled for collapsing the entrance, trapping him in the caverns. There he found cave paintings, and later writings, which he interpreted as a prophecy foretelling the coming of He Who Was and Will Be.

Years later, he emerged from the cave, weakened and near mad from starvation, and slowly clawed his way back to power. Making his way to England, he formed a cult based on his new found prophecy, made up of a few younger vampires and a crowd of eager to believe humans, and taking a new name, which means "Messenger". It was during this period that he developed a number of eccentric habits, that tend to leave other vampires regarding him as something between "weird," and "a terrifying freak." For example, he ceased feeding via biting entirely, preferring instead to drain his victims blood via incisions with a knife or razor and drink from a chalice or even by lapping directly at the wound. More strangely, he ceased limiting his victims to humans. Disobedient underlings or rival vampire gangs were just as likely to come under his blade as hapless humans.

Recently, in response to various signs and portents he recognized from his stay in the French caves, Malachi and his cult embarked upon a journey to (wherever the game takes place). Shortly before their arrival, slaughtered his followers, human and vampire alike, feasting upon their blood before raising a few of the most loyal humans to accompany him to serve their new master.
